I remember when they used to fly and this old logo, it's hard to believe it's been 12 years since they were acquired by Air Canada and ceased to exist.
The livery shown here was called "Proud Wings," and it utilizes the Canada Goose, which was used as a trademark by Canadian Airways Limited, one of the "bush" airlines that were brought together in 1942 by the Canadian Pacific Railway to create Canadian Pacific Airlines. CPA became Canadian Airlines after its merger with Pacific Western Airlines. Also, this 747 was named in honor of Max Ward, founder of Wardair, which joined Canadian Airlines in 1989.
