And now he has a new heart so he's gonna doing that again
In the comics, A-Train was honestly the most hateful character throughout the story and never got what he deserved until the very of the comic. But it was just Hugie that just beat him to death. In the show however, they pretty much let his karma slowly creep up on him and pick him off one punishment at a time.
I've seen the panels. Dude felt nothing after killing robin. And even in the end A Train never understood why he died. And Hughie kicked his head off.
If anything. The TV show fixes what the comics did. They made A Train more tolerable. Less rapy. Got rid of the whole "noir is Homelander clone" never liked that part felt like a copout
But Soldier Boy being a badass was definitely a better look than the several wimpy versions of him in the comics.
@@furionmax7824 definitely. If the show was a one to one of the comics it probably wouldn't have worked as well it does now let alone getting another season. Most of the stuff that happens in the comics was mostly there just for shock value without any context or pretense to them.

Damn I was too focused on A-Train pathos to see it, good catch!
Funny how a train says it’s Hughie’s fault that popclaw died when he literally was the one who killed her
He meant that because of Hughie associating with Popclaw. Hughie spied on her, which then drew her out, which THEN prompted A-Train to kill her. There's "loading the gun" and there's "pulling the trigger." Not that that justifies A-Train's argument here or anything.

A-Train is irredeemable in my eyes. I do like his Character Arc of realizing he is just as bad as the other "Hero's".
I see it as he dug his own hole and now can't get out of it, killing popclaw after she confessed her love was evil. Somethings I'd picture homelander doing
(EDIT: the idea she'd be written off as a junkie instead of a murder is the worst part for me)
In fairness, he did literally see her getting her ass eaten out by her landlord. Hard to love a woman after that, love confession or not.
I disagree. If a character has someone he cares about, he can actually be redeemed. So someone like Homelander or Stormfront are irredeemable because they don't care about anyone but themselves or their agenda. A-Train lost Popclaw and for all intents and purposes lost his brother, so now he's on a path to becoming better. Doesn't make up for what he did, but as a character, I think he'll eventually do some good,
In our world 100%. But this is a world where Supes are all bad. I hope he at least has some redemption before he dies. I'd imagine he's going to be working with Hughie and the boys behind the scenes. @@maskedmarvyl4774 he wanted to recruit A-train in his plot. Sure alone he couldnt murder Homelander.
Despite the fact A-Train is obviously projecting HARD onto Hughe and trying to deflect blame for his actions, he does make a decent point. When he killed Hughe’s gf, he didn’t mean to, it was an accident (still horrible and completely unjustified, but an accident nonetheless.) Hughe on the other hand did intend for some of the things he did to happen, maybe not all of it, but definitely a good amount. It’s a subtle hint that Hughe’s character can go down some very dark routes to achieve his aims, but he’s not an evil person, I don’t believe that for a second, but the things he’s been through are enough to fuck anybody up for a while, if not for life and beyond. The Boys is amazing, and this scene really was great.
I agree. There's something about this show that is just so engaging, so fucken fun. The first season I think is a masterpiece, they way the story unfolds, the tension build up, the humour, the dialogue, the character development, all perfect to me. The last two episodes are so re-watchable. I like the 2nd and 3rd seasons as well, they seem like organic continuations of the story. But season 1, holy moly, it seems so TIGHT, as in very tightly written, script perfected.
Maybe just maybe Hughe would find it in him to forgive A-train if he didn't find what he did to Robin amusing.
If you fell for that argument, that just makes him a masterfully written narcissist.
Well, A Train is bad, no question asked. However this scene kind of justified him. It made Hughie became more sympathetic to him which is why Hughie let A Train live... twice despite he could end A Train anytime. It shows Hughie character development from the start of the series to the end of season 1.
I disagree with this take, by that logic if a DUI driver "accidently" hits someone with their car and kills them, the culprit shouldn't be charged with manslaughter because they didn't mean to run over a pedestrian. A-Train was under the influence of Compound V which impairs his judgement and alertness level. What's worse is that he was travelling at supersonic speed which makes him more dangerous than any car. Hughie is not innocent by any means but he's not the one bulldozing through people while high on drugs.
