Apologies for making the comment lengthy, but there is just one more question. Also Units 3 English requires an A (or a strong B with a consulation with teachers. There is an alternative way of doing English Units 3 in grade 12 by doing English Units 1 and 2 by doing English Units in grade 11 and get a CA (Commendable Achievement) or above. CA usually means top 31-50 percent of the state, but I am not feeling confident about getting CA in grade 11. So is year 13 possible in this ( Sorry for being too repeptitive.)
I've done all 3. Lit is the hardest, Lang is the most interesting (and super fun) and Mainstream is the most boring. Seriously the driest course.

Ive heard great things about English language, however it sounds really boring, I’m not sure if I’ll like it. Whereas, I love English, I love reading books and I find it interesting, however I heavily dislike writing essays. Should I pick English or English language? Thank you

I know this is not related to this video, but I have a question to ask you. I am a Year 10 student who lives in Tasmania and I would like to about doing Year 13 in this case? Can I do Units 1 and 2 in grade 11, units 3 in grade 12 and units 4 grade in Year 13. Let me say if I have got bad grades in grade 10 and there are subjects I want to do, but they require certain grades to do those subjects in grade 11 and those grade 11 subjects are pre-requisites for Year 12 subjects. So for instance, can I do Physical Science Foundation in grade 11, Physical Science in grade 12 and Physics in grade 13. To do Physical Science in grade 11, it requires an A/B or a c with consulation with teachers in Mathematics, Science and English. Note: Physical Science is a combination of Chemistry Units 1 and 2 and Physics Units 1 and 2 combined.

Apparently literature is higher regarded, but idk that’s just what I’ve heard
My School just offered Literature and i’m struggling on whether i should switch subjects from English. I’m really comfortable in English and i get good marks for my sacs (80-90) but i’m not sure if i can put in the effort needed for literature as i’m more of a maths/science type of person and English is my least interesting subject. Please help
I would never do literature as like u I am a math/science person. Just my opinion though.
The description of literature here is basically what you do in both WACE Literature and WACE English that contribute to ATAR. The worst thing is that we don't get taught how to analyse texts in these ways. They give us really general info about paragraph structure, mentioning conventions in your evidence and the sort of vocabulary you use. Teachers also mention how a common problem is that students don't answer the question, but how can we answer a question if we never learnt the correct way to answer it or how to understand some of the text elements we analyse? How am I supposed to discuss how the text structure and voice work to create a specific perspective if I don't know what voice or structure is, or the links between the two and perspectives? Maybe I'm just overthinking the subject but it's really confusing.
This was a problem area in my English class this year. I did well enough, and have enrolled in WACE Literature ATAR. However I am quite nervous because, as you've said, I haven't learned how to answer the question, I've just kind of winged it. Every WACE student I have spoken to has had this problem.
I’m dyslexic and I’m wondering what English I should do I average around a 55-60 in main stream English and am relatively poor when it comes to essay writing (ps I hate reading novels)

Probably go for English mainstream. Depending on how many years you’ve learnt English and what school you currently go to, you may be eligible for EAL

Can a student do English Language without doing mainstream English? Or English is compulsory for everyone, even if the student does English Language?
Yes you can do English Language instead English :)
@@vcestudyguidesonline Although there is no curriculum/legal requirement, I have heard some schools (mainly private) that won't let you/discourage you from doing English Language if you aren't doing mainstream English as well. But this was back in 2011/2012 when the attitude by teachers/students was that English Language is perceived as a harder subject. As I said, things may have changed since then. :)
I literally suck at english. Im way better at maths and science. Whats the easiest english?
IMO, I did English Language as I'm not a book-guy but very much a maths student. Absolutely loved it and I believe it got scaled up slightly? Note, this was back in 2011/2012, so it's been a while! Also the basic grammar stuff (again it's been a while) we learnt complements well with learning other languages in VCE.
