It's so funny how people are focusing on the interracial relationship when that is not even what the movie is about. Nor is it ever focused on or around their races. It's about being homeless in New York, trying to survive addiction, pain, loss, elements... This movie in my personal opinion was so beautifully done.
Interracial relationship sounds great. Got no issue. I am also intrigued by the idea that it’s Paul Bettany directing since Bettany and Connelly last I checked were married

The movie was what needed to be seen from those that are in this position. Trying to make it past the hurt, pain, poverty is real in the world we live. Thank you for this movie I wish I could have heard of it when it came out

Wow! What a trailer. Didn't give too much away, but just allowed me to enjoy the beautiful shots and cinematography, allowing me to thirst for more. And Paul Bettany directing? Very interesting. I really hope that this movie is as good as what gives off in the trailer. Great cast as well.
Mackie and Connelly are brilliant actors. I think this will be a fantastic movie.
Truly can't understand why people can't look further than the color of people's skin and realize that no matter what we look like we are still people!
Anyhow, I just finished watching this movie after my husband recommended it. You will appreciate how blessed you are and be grateful for what you have. Two homeless people, one by choice and the other by circumstance fight to survive together despite all the odds being against them. It's definitely worth watching! It will pull you in and hold you steadfast in your seat and have you rooting for both characters, hoping they make it out alive.
Because of this movie, I have decided to work part time in a homeless shelter because you never fully understand the struggle of another person. I'll give what I can to make their lives a little less stressful.

The movie is a deep critic to the system. It tries to show how two homeless people coexist in the core of capitalism such as New york.

People hate interracial relationship because they are intolerant, ignorant, jealous people raised by/with hatred. I can only feel sorry for this kind of people who can't seem to see past colors, races. They were raised that way & will raised their kids that way. If a white women or black women choose to be with someone she loves that's all really matter. I swear the god the most tolerant people you will ever meet in this world comes or are from interracial couple because they get to understand and live with multiple culture which mean more open-minded more tolerant.

Anthony Mackie is one great movie away from becoming an incredible actor and joining Jake Gyllenhal, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Michael Fassbender as the next great generation of actors in HW. And I believe this may be the film that does it.
This movie caught my eye since I am half-Nigerian, date white women, and have been homeless before. I even have asthma. I enjoyed watching their connection build as they helped each other to survive. I hated the ending, though. Let an interracial couple work out for a change! They do in real life! I watched it again and stopped the movie during their last night in the boiler room where they agree to leave NY together, right after she says that they're going to really live. If they abruptly ended the movie there, that would've been way better then the ending they chose.
Also, in the past Jennifer Connelly was never on my hottie radar, but she definitely qualifies. She has aged like wine and was still attractive even as a bony hobo junkie.

Well Tahir had to know the truth where exactly Hannah was getting the money to support themselves especially his medication. Hannah was clean and sober from heroin but not from prostitution. Tahir wanted Hannah clean and free from the streets period. So sad Tahir had to find out the truth like he did and it ended in tragedy and Tahir being a wanted man. But most of all, the Truth set both of them free.
This movie was excellent. I would definitely recommend.

This was a great movie people who live in secure homes and have never been affected by homelessness don't have a clue as such stereotypical ideas leave people without understanding. The truth is people who are homeless come from all kinds of backgrounds with all different stories and whether or not this particular story is true we don't know how close it is to somebody else's story and we might be surprised to discover the stories that are hidden from the world because most people don't want to know the truth.

'Provocative' is spelled incorrectly in one of the review quotes in that trailer. You'd think someone would've noticed that, while so-carefully selecting positive text to put into the trailer. Especially considering it is spelled correctly in the actual review by Pete Hammond, which was written over a year ago.

I just watched this movie a week ago... It's absolute brilliant performance by both, even the script n execution just little bit offpace and melodramatic. But it's too underated imdb and RT score. I'll give it 78 score.
