How to Light your Charcoal Grill | By @ChefJusticeHunter and Alocane Burn Gel

  • In this video, we'll show you how to light a charcoal grill safely and efficiently. We'll also cover the importance of fire safety when handling charcoal and other grilling materials.
First, make sure you have all the necessary tools and materials on hand, including charcoal briquettes, a lighter, and a grill. Begin by arranging the briquettes in a pyramid shape in the center of the grill. Next, carefully apply lighter fluid to the briquettes, making sure to use only the amount specified on the packaging.
Once you've applied the lighter fluid, step back and wait a few minutes to let the fluid soak into the briquettes. Then, use a long lighter or a match to light the briquettes from several different angles. Avoid using gasoline or other highly flammable liquids to light the charcoal, as these can be dangerous and increase the risk of fire.
As the briquettes start to catch fire and turn gray, use tongs or a grill brush to spread them evenly across the bottom of the grill. Keep an eye on the grill as the charcoal continues to burn, adjusting the vents to control the temperature as needed.
Throughout the grilling process, it's important to prioritize fire safety. Keep a fire extinguisher or bucket of water and Alocane Emergency Burn Gel nearby in case of emergency, and never leave the grill unattended. Additionally, make sure to dispose of the charcoal and other grilling materials properly once you're finished cooking.
By following these tips and taking the necessary precautions, you can enjoy a safe and successful grilling experience every time. Don't forget to keep Alocane close by in case of an accidental burn!

If you soak a napkin in olive oil and lay it down under your charcoal then light it you don’t have to deal with the lighter fluid.

That was my first "accessory", and the point at which I started to really improve quickly. The next "evolution" was switching from paper to light my chimney to fire starters like Weber Lighter Cubes.
I always tell people that a chimney starter not only makes lighting your grill fast and clean-you literally never get your hands dirty- but over time they start to be a kind of "charcoal measuring cup". You'll get to where you know how much charcoal to put in your chimney based on what you're cooking. I wouldn't be without mine, man.
