- In this video, we'll show you how to light a charcoal grill safely and efficiently. We'll also cover the importance of fire safety when handling charcoal and other grilling materials.
First, make sure you have all the necessary tools and materials on hand, including charcoal briquettes, a lighter, and a grill. Begin by arranging the briquettes in a pyramid shape in the center of the grill. Next, carefully apply lighter fluid to the briquettes, making sure to use only the amount specified on the packaging.
Once you've applied the lighter fluid, step back and wait a few minutes to let the fluid soak into the briquettes. Then, use a long lighter or a match to light the briquettes from several different angles. Avoid using gasoline or other highly flammable liquids to light the charcoal, as these can be dangerous and increase the risk of fire.
As the briquettes start to catch fire and turn gray, use tongs or a grill brush to spread them evenly across the bottom of the grill. Keep an eye on the grill as the charcoal continues to burn, adjusting the vents to control the temperature as needed.
Throughout the grilling process, it's important to prioritize fire safety. Keep a fire extinguisher or bucket of water and Alocane Emergency Burn Gel nearby in case of emergency, and never leave the grill unattended. Additionally, make sure to dispose of the charcoal and other grilling materials properly once you're finished cooking.
By following these tips and taking the necessary precautions, you can enjoy a safe and successful grilling experience every time. Don't forget to keep Alocane close by in case of an accidental burn!
If you soak a napkin in olive oil and lay it down under your charcoal then light it you don’t have to deal with the lighter fluid.
Bacon fat is a good alternative to the olive oil and it smells good when it catches fire.
thank u so much for this comment! i have no idea what im doing and was afraid of the lighter fluid
Thank you!!!

@@gusbarnesiii8210yes !! This is my favorite way.
You lost me when you said lighter fluid 😢
same 😣
When you realize this is the Aloe he mentioned commercial 😭😂 A+ skit
LOL I DIDT EVEN REALIZE 💀
😂 Gawt dang it! Good one
Two words: Chimney starter
That was my first "accessory", and the point at which I started to really improve quickly. The next "evolution" was switching from paper to light my chimney to fire starters like Weber Lighter Cubes.
I always tell people that a chimney starter not only makes lighting your grill fast and clean-you literally never get your hands dirty- but over time they start to be a kind of "charcoal measuring cup". You'll get to where you know how much charcoal to put in your chimney based on what you're cooking. I wouldn't be without mine, man.
Just buy a charcoal chimney, stuff the bottom with old news paper and it will easily light your charcoal up in 10 min. Way safer and cheaper
Agreed
Nobody just has newspaper laying around anymore though.
@@everythingyousayiscorrect or just use the charcoal bag

Never use lighter fluid never never use lighter fluid never use lighter fluid
Why? Use it all the time with no problem
Unless you want to. Then definitely use lighter fluid.
Never!!!
When I grill my charcoal has been dying down by the time is time to put meat down.. idk if I’m waiting to long..
@@deonjohnson4950right my food never taste like light fluid buddy must’ve went overboard with it
I just use a napkin and cooking oil and it works like a charm
We did everything he said not to 😂😂
Just came for all the “lighter fluid is so awwwwfullll!” comments.
If you let it burn off then no taste👍
The more you use the longer you have to wait lighter fluid is a perfect example of a little goes a long way
Pour some whiskey over the coals and bingo! 😂
never thought of this lmao. good idea 🧐
I’m not wasting whiskey on coal 💀.
Save it for battering the food 😂
This is perfect info, and even the sponsor is really really good stuff!
using gloves for charcoal but spraying your charcoal with lighter fluid is insane.
Some ppl don’t mind lighter fluid
Lol right. I've never had a first aid kit close to my grill. That's insane but good commercial
How bout a fire extinguisher lol
I use a chimney starter with tumble weed…I never use lighter fluid
Bedankt. Dit is alles dat we nodig hadden ❤
I always use an electric charcoal starter. I hate the taste of lighter fluid in general so even a little bit turns me off. 😢 Cheaper too!
Cooking oil and a napkin!
Thank you!!!
Thanks brother for your safety measures ❤
Invest in a chimney charcoal starter. I’ve had mines for years.
Nice job!
Never use lighter fluid. Use a chimney.
This video is brought to you by alocane
You will love using a chimney starter
Get a charcoal chimney then u can light em all with just a couple wads of newspaper life changing!
Brown paper bag and a charcoal chimney
What kind of grill is that?
Yeah people will tell you never use lighter fluid get you a chimney that's the only place the lighter fluid should be at the bottom sitting in foil under the chimney with two to three pieces of charcoal to keep the fire burning and heating the chimney
I use a chimney, put a sheet of newspaper on the bottom light and that's it
Soak a paper towel in Olive oil and put underneath!
What the hell did I just watch, felt like I watched a safety video on how to cook in the kitchen for Dairy Queen
Thank you all these other guys take 5-10 min video lol
Don't use lighter fluid, instead use a natural fire starter like fatwood or a torch 👍
Lighter fluid is terrible. No need to do that when you can use tumbleweed starters and/or a chimney.
What store sells alocane? Please
Get rid of lighter fluid charcoal chimney and if you need more heat fire starters. Have a charcoal chimney going maybe 2 then you are in business 😊
How can I get this
Bro, never (I say, never) use light fluid! Use a chimney ever again!
No lie, Alocane is amazing
As a pizza chef I have some serious burns on my arms and there is only one thing that works to stop the burning and the blistering up and it’s Alocane. I don’t even know where I found it but I tried it, it worked amazingly and haven’t stopped using it since.
Didn’t even realize this was a sponsor ad lol
Yeah because this is the only video on here for that product lol maybe another
Win advertisement 😂
Oh this is a commercial
Bro, nobody uses lighter fluid anymore. Why use any chemical when you can just just a chimney?
You might wanna leave a cool side.. Where you gonna put flare ups ? Leave a cool zone, trust me..
Use a charcoal chimney
You can have the actual plant to the more you use it the more it grows
Use a chimney starter.
I just sprayed a shit ton of lighter fluid on it, shit won’t start.
Wearing heat resistant grilling gloves will reduce the chance for burns even more! 😉
Buy a gas torch for your propane tank never use lighter fluid
Get a chimney and call it a day
Or people just spread them out then light them and let them get hot 🙃
It’s always safer if you use a charcoal chimney..
😫😩👍🤣🗿
😅
Bro just use a chimney , their cheap and fast and easy.
Never ever do it this way!
Never use fluid!!
Lighter fluid will always be a red flag 👎🏽
😂😂😂
What isn’t an add anymore
Firestarter cubes are way better and don't destroy the flavor of your food...
Lost me at lighter fluid
Have you heard of people eating charcoal and is it safe to. Eat charcoal and I heard coal dust is very harmful to eat
Well I tried what you said coals still won’t catch fire idk anymore 😂
Soak them with it and once it starts add wood with the coals
Don’t use lighter fluid get a paper towel soap half with olive oil light the ends start putting your coals on top
U put half bottle wait 20 mins den add more wait 15 mins den light
Bro what? Half the bottle? I use lighter fluid and had never had an issue with my food tasting funny, but that seems like your food would come out tasting like straight methonal
Get a charcoal chimney.
Lighter fluid to light your forge not your grill
Worst way take to long, get a propane torch takes about 30 secs
Noooooo
if you do not have a charcoal chimney starter, you can soak one or 2 pieces of charcoal in either kerosene or turpentine and presto, you have a diy firelighter. you want to burn fire accelerants, not add more by using lighter fluid.
Thanks forbtip about adding the lighter fluid just one time
Just invest in a chimney...
The #1 thing to do in a burn situation is to get running water on it to stop the burning process. Period
Avoid lighter fluid
Lightsr fluid thru me off . Thsts a no go
Bc u dont know how to cook w it
@@Kimriccckenjoy your fluid coated steaks, yum 😂
@@Kimriccck Blech! More for you! 😂
Lighter fluid burns off. You let it burn off before putting the meat on noob
@@jonerving3843 but why risk using fluids when there is multiple other methods to get fire started without it being toxic?

Wow this is awful to look at.
Remove this video please.
dafuq did i just watch?????????????????
Get yourself a charcoal chimney
Ewww, lighter fluid. Buy a chimney, lighter fluid ruins charcoal
Charcoal is unhealthy period.
Lighter fluid? How does your food taste? 🤢🤮. So 1970s-1990s. 🤦🏻♀️
Lighter fluid 🤮
Thats unproffessional too much petroleum taste in your food
Spraying the fire with fluid OSS goes my uncle lost so the skin on his arms please don’t do that ppl. Spray then light once it’s lit that’s it!
Disagree. Invest in a chimney, make your own, or learn how to build a fire with kindling. Guaranteed you’ll create a more enjoyable protein product at the end.
Good luck.
