- I recently did a video called "There is no perfect sleeping Pad." However, I will always try to improve my sleeping system in the backcountry. Flextail tent me their new sleeping pad, the Zero R5 Ultralight Mattress. The R-value on this pad is 5.6. It weighs only 18 ounces. Check out this pad in comparison with my usual go-to backpacking pad, the Thermarest Neo Air X-Lite. I think Flextail has a winner in this Zero Mattress.

Good review as always. Thanks Crow.
Appreciate it! ✌️
WoW! That’s Incredibly Awesome!
Thanks so much! ✌️
I'm a subscriber and this has nothing to do with your channel which is splendid but my messages are disappearing on CZcams. The algorithm makes it more than a little hard to get involved most of the time unfortunately, this one stays up somehow so I will take a moment to address the issue. I have relevant questions but I can hardly write anything and it gets taken down. Anyway, here's to a more free platform, in my opinion. Great video crow. I will get the Flextail if it will keep me warm in the mountains, of which I have yet to see. Cheers
Thanks so much my friend! Sorry to hear your comments are disappearing. That is crazy. But, thanks for watching the video. Crow✌️
Nice. I'm thinking of getting one as they seem really good value compared to some other brands.
Looks legit. The R Value is impressive and I think you need to come to South Dakota in February and test it!! However, I'm baffled by how you sleep in a perfect mummy position on a 21 inch pad. I'm jealous of that skill!! Well done bud!
Sounds like a plan…February…let’s do it!
Nice review. Looks like a nice alternative to Exped pads for those preferring vertical baffles. I was looking at mummy style pads lately. After watching this, I definitely would need a wide version.
Appreciate you watching it. I really like this pad. Crow✌️
Nice review Brad.
Thanks so much John! ✌️
I’ve got the bigger rectangular version. I think it’s great personally.
I was toasty warm on it and prefer it to my thermarest xtherm I have, which is a higher r value.
I just couldn’t get on with how narrow the xtherm is.
For those worried about the outermost baffles not having insulation, it made no difference to me. I felt warmer and more comfortable on the flextail pad.
It’s all down to personal preference, but I love my flextail pad.
Great comment! Thanks for watching it. Crow ✌️
I like it! Wow Flextail is really branching out with their products! I'm one of those people that needs the 25" width and as thick as possible.... then again i never sleep very good out there so i suppose it doesnt matter!
I’m the same way. 😂✌️
It reminds of the blow up pads for the pool back in the 80s and those were very compfy…but it was also on water 😂. The vertical baffle system looks great and the R value is great for the weight.
I have really liked using it. Yeah, it does look like a pool pad on steroids. 😂✌️
I think I’ll have to try the flextail out looks idea for me
I really like it so far. Thanks for watching it. Crow✌️
Welcome to the vertical baffle crew 😂
They are so much more comfortable! Nice review!
Thanks Melissa! Yeah, I have been digging this pad. It is nice. Thanks for watching it. Crow✌️
Good looking pad I just got the BA Q core deluxe
That is an awesome pad too. How you like it? ✌️
@@ASTHECROWFLIESHIKING haven't used it yet other than a test at my house I'll let you know. I'm heading out to do Jacks River soon.
To me, the flextail looks more like a pool float than a sleeping pad. Then again, years ago, we've used pool floats as sleeping pads during the heat of the summer and I remember them being comfortable.
Comfortably during the summer but what about on the mountain?
Love the pad but how in earth does it ever fit back in the bag!?
Yeah, it is a tight fit. ✌️
I’m in the neighborhood for a new pad. I’m looking for the same thing. Is there a link.
Thank for watching it. Yeah, there is a link in the description. Crow✌️
