    Okay, I've been watching a zillion videos on e-bikes whilst deciding which one to buy, and I have to say, your video is exceptional in content quality, delivery, video skills, and knowledge. you don't waste a bunch of time blathering away, you just get to the point and efficiently deliver your message. This is the BEST ebike video I've seen, and I've seen a lot! THANK YOU for such valuable information without wasting my time on chattiness!

    Thanks for the informative review. I have a Vitilan V3, much of what you said about the U7 applies to the V3.

      oddly i seem to recall that the v3 had sort of a name-brand motor but the U7 appears not to. even so the overall specs seem
      the same. my U7 motor seems QUITE strong and has a 16AH battery which seems appropriate to power the motor and controller unit.

    Thank you for the great video and great review, and BTW, the photography was fantastic without having to hold any poles. My question is: I see you have mounted the headlight on the front of the rack. Is that something you did yourself while purchasing parts or has there been a factory change? If you did it yourself, if you could please post where you purchased the attachment, and if you needed to do some kind of wiring extension to the headlight? I thank you in advance for your reply!

    • @tracyavent-costanza346
      @tracyavent-costanza346 Před 8 měsíci +1

      my U7 came with a front rack option and had an extension for the headlight to take it off the fender and mount it instead on the front rack. I have so far NOT done that. So far I have not needed the front rack and note that if you do mount the headlight on it,
      the lamp does not turn with the steering anymore. so you will want to be aware of that if you contemplate the alternative mount.

    Looking at ordering 2 of these. I wonder if the company has fixed the seat post issue? Doesn't seem fair to have to go buy one on my own dime to fix a known defect from them. Also, there is a 20ah option for $100 more than their standard 16ah stock battery. I won't be taking it for all day long rides...is it worth paying $100 more 2x for the extra battery power?

  • @tracyavent-costanza346
    @tracyavent-costanza346 Před 11 měsíci +1

    i have been considering the U7, and so far been impressed with the price/features combination. seems to me I had seen some comparisons to the heybike ranger but this bike
    has the 750w motor and the ranger classic is 500w. I wonder what your experience is with comparative power of the 750 vs 500...did it make much diff as you used the bike
    on relatively flat ground? I am in the california high desert and would probably use the higher power- not for speed but for PAS for uphills. We also have a notorious "goat head thorn"
    here that has been flattening tires since model-T's first came here 100 years ago. It is VERY IMPORTANT for the fat tires to have puncture protection (generally a thick plastic barrier
    inside the tire carcass to protect the tube, also available at least for non-fatties after market. Do you have any feeling about puncture resistance?
    thanks for a great product review job.

      [update: got the U7 about 2 months ago. generally quite pleased with the quality of the product]
      so far yeah, the bike is heavy but two things:
      1) the pedal assist or grip-throttle mode are more than enough to compensate for it. you do not want to try to pedal the thing
      without power. so far I have never come close to running out the battery and am just about at 100 miles on the odo now.
      2) the weight/mass is actually conducive to a stable and smooth ride at speeds above where pedaling would normally take you
      3) I do not even max out the motor; I am not even sure how fast it goes and frankly I do not need to know. I did get a better seat
      and bought some rear-view mirrors but so far only mounted the left-side mirror. You have to mount them wide to see well behind your
      own shoulder and arm.
      4) I did unwisely try climbing some pretty steep and sandy terrain and the motor had no problem. I just had trouble handing the bike and keeping the rear tire in solid contact with the surface since it was irregular. This bike is only for "off-road" for younger riders than age 65.
      5) where I live there is a lot of drifted sand, so the fat tires are pretty much NECESSARY and even then you do not want to hit soft sand at the wrong speed; too slow and you will sink the front wheel. Too fast and you will likely end-o. I keep them only about half inflated so the bike could probably go a good deal faster than I have any business going, and I prefer the smoother ride on softer tires. I also put leak-stop goop (the green stuff) in my tires since my part of the desert is teeming with "goat head thorns" that otherwise murder bike tires.

    in my opinion I've done a lot of research on a lot of ebikes and I have this U7 bike and for the money for all the features that this bike comes with with the nice hydraulic brakes the taillight the headlight the blinkers you really can't beat this bike for the price there are a lot of e-bikes out there that cost $2,000 in Moore that does not have the features that this ebike has its got the nice mag wheels 750 watt motor you just can't go wrong with this e-bike it all oh and I almost forgot to mention the nice colorful screen that it comes with

      i would have preferred that the turn-signal had some kind of feedback (like a beep or something) since when I use it I tend to forget to turn it off which then would confuse other vehicles who have to deal with me.

      I do think this one is a good match. Seat and bars drop low. Step through helps too.
      Replacing the stock seat post with a solid post will drop the seat even lower if needed.

    My seat fell backwards on my second mile, startling me and almost caused me to fall. It locked in that position and I talked to their customer service 5 or 6 times before I could get someone who understood some English. I requested a new rigid seat post or a return of the bike. After that I got no further responses. I’ll purchase a rigid suspension post at my own expense. They should immediately stop selling this seat post and replace the original posts for the owners. I’m 73 years old and could easily have suffered a life changing fall because of the defective seat post. Other than the seat post and poor customer service, I have no other complaints about this bike. I didn’t think that the seat post might bend or break!

    • @tracyavent-costanza346
      @tracyavent-costanza346 Před 8 měsíci

      i have heard that the vitilans sometimes have defective seats. I replaced my stock one with a fancier model from vitilan that has an inflatable bladder. it is more comfy than the stock seat but you could probably get those from anybody. It does kind of jam the handle for opening the seat stay in order to take out the battery but so far I have almost never had any need to take the battery out. I guess
      it depends on whether you use the bike to commute and lock it somewhere public.
