Excellent trick. There are so many things that could be done with this principle. You are a genius Jay Sankey
If you don't want to mark a deck of cards, this works great for a participant choosing the single red card out of a blue deck. Just make the gimmicked card a different colour than the rest

Great effect you nailed this one but what if they chose the Q of spades
Because, generally speaking, men enjoy the feeling of having outsmarted other people more than women do. And on the other end of that, women seem to just enjoy it as a show more than men. After a really great performance, every time, without fail, all the women will go "That was amazing!" while all the men will ponder for hours how it was done.
Quite frankly, there's few things more satisfying than having somebody present their explanation for a trick, only to be able to tell them that they're completely wrong.

Could you use the off suit principle at the bottom instead of a duplicate? Or would the dupe be worth it?

you can use plasti dip its like a rough and smooth it works great rubber in a spray can its also clear try it youll like it
As an added shock you could make the duplicate with the tape an indifferent colored back. That way you could show that not only was it the only yes, but also the only red card or blue card or whatever. :)

If it hasn't been suggested yet I do this with a blue deck and red force card. Mind boggling and obviously can be used with a Db if the tape isn't your thing.
As a girl who is into magic, there is the constant struggle of finding clothing with actual pockets that can actually holds a whole deck of cards or other props. I think that is partially the reason why I don't meet too many other girls who are into magic.
I think the more complex reason is simply because of the image of a "magician" that people have in their minds. When there is a women in magic, it's difficult for the audience to take her seriously and not sexualize her simply because of the social image that we've all been taught by the media. I really hope that more girls get into magic and break the stereotype that girls can only be the magician's assistants.

SankeyMagic i spoke to a female friend also a magician and she mentioned that when working with a fellow magician who happens to be male, the audience will naturally think that she is the assistant. In this case if the female does not mention she is a magician her self. Then that's another secret being kept from the audience..

Breaking out of "established" roles is certainly applaudable (so Huzzah! to any female magicians reading this) but it can also be a monumental task. I imagine that the reigning notion is that, where magic is involved, women are most commonly regarded as "eye candy" and that any female magician would not be fairly judged on her talents and abilities, but rather on how "hot" she is.

But what do you do if they want to see their card again? If they want to examine it? Great trick btw!! :)
With MANY tricks people want to look in my pocket, give the deck another shuffle, select a different card, etc etc - and in most of those cases I just ignore them and show them another cool trick. Expert magicians know that so much of a show comes down to audience management - so if they ask, just say, "Instead, let me show you something even crazier...." ;)

GREAT question. I've had that happen a couple of times over the years, and I always say, "Come on. Make it harder for me. Too many people choose the top card." And that's usually enough to get them to change their minds.

As I know my friends, as I would pocket the YES card everyone would be screaming to take it out for them to examine :-D
disconnect and leave the yes card in your pocket, bring the selected card out and say, you want to see it? turn it over and say "no"! ( then of course toss it to them)

Very nice. Like this just as much as The Black Pool Effect. The reason there aren't many women magicians is because we all got started as kids to be more popular. No matter how dorky a woman is, they don't need magic for that.
In Danish it would also be called "show stopper" fyi ;)
