Maifield had to correct his line to avoid the barrier as he apexed too quickly, and because of that his B4.2 and the TLR 22 next to him became wheel-locked. Maifield had three choices right before that turn. 1. Hit the barrier and lose time, which also risks a wreck and even more lost time. 2. Slow down to avoid the TLR and lose time. 3. Correct his line and make contact with the TLR, likely taking the TLR out in the process and possibly wrecking himself and losing time. The way it looks to me, you can blame Maifield for the wreck but he wasn't trying to take the TLR out. That's just how that situation played out. Now, I do think that he should have given the position back to the TLR driver, but that's more of an honor thing than anything. If I'm in a race and I take someone out on accident, I usually will let the guy I took out pass me back.
