This sadly isn't arkham, in Batman Beyond:ROTJ movie. Barbara actually mentioned Batman's rogues being moved to a new asylum because Arkham was rotting. Impressive how bruce timm stayed consistent for 19 years
It's good to see Harvey in a...somewhat more well rounded state personality-wise than he was by the end of "Batman: The Animated Series", I never expected to see him or any other major Batman villains make an appearance in this movie outside of split-second cameos, so this was a nice surprise and a hopeful sign for his future.
That certainly seems to be the case, the worst he gets in this appearance is being mildly threatening and that's only when Starboy comments on his shtick of having things in twos, the rest of the time he seems noticeably concerned about Starboy's welfare and more mindful of his own behavior, a far cry from who he was in BTAS once he became Two-Face, if this scene results in future DCAU appearances or mentions where Harvey's fully rehabilitated and reintegrated into society like Bruce hoped he would that would be awesome.
I certainly would've liked to see him too, it was hardly out of the question to have members of Bruce's rogues gallery to show up every now and then during the series in some way, plus if it showed that Harvey did truly reform in the end it would've made a good contrast to what eventually happened to Victor, Bane, Ra's, Talia etc.
3:29 I love how Kevin Conroy's Batman talks to mentally disabled and ill people as actual PEOPLE. Even if they do pose a danger. Also I'd pay for a movie just watching the prison/asylum communities of super villains. As they try to pick new lives for each other, pick factions and watch out for each other. Good for you Harvey.
Wow. What show did you watch? This is what happens when ppl think they can't ever criticize a piece of media and still be allowed to like it. Pure denial of any flaws
I like to think this movie is cannon to the Timmverse Justice League series. If people remember back in Batman Return of the Joker, Tim Drake was kidnapped and taken to an abandoned Arkham Asylum. The film mention all the inmates was move to a new Arkham which I assume is the building in this clip.
I thought so too but I think it’s actually separate, they just used Timm’s art style. The biggest red flag is that JLU already had an episode with the Fatal Five and the Legion of Superheroes. The way the Five comes to the past here versus how they were fought in the future doesn’t seem to correlate all that well.
It's considered canon to the DCAU. Also, the only JLU members who went to the future were Green Lantern, Green Arrow, and Supergirl, who stayed in the future. Then, the only problem becomes, as you commented, the course of events in that JLU episode matching up with the events of this film.
@@teleportedbreadfor3days My dude even the older DCAU stuff contradicts itself, such as the Royal Flush Gang origin. JL says the first group was made by the Joker, and in BB Bruce says the gang goes waaaaay way back even before his time.
@@InnocenceExorcist I’ll have to rewatch that episode, to see if Bats maybe meant when the JL faced them. Alternatively, the Joker could have drawn inspiration from an older generation of the Royal Flush Gang.
