Lower & Upper Calf Creek Falls // Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument

In this video we take you along on 2 waterfall hikes on Calf Creek. The beautiful Lower Fall is a 6 mile trek on one of the busiest trails in the monument so go early if you want a little solitude. The 2 mile Upper Fall hike is quite steep and more remote but well worth the effort to see.

Both hikes are worth the effort. The Grand Staircase is one of our favorite places in Utah. Hope you enjoy the trip there.

You’ll love the adventure. I’d allow a minimum of 3 hrs for Lower Calf Creek and 2 hrs for Upper Calf Creek. The drive between the 2 trailheads is about 10 minutes I think. If you take your time like we do, I’d say a total of 6 hrs for everything is about right.

may 6th hike? you are wearing coats. was it cold in May?

Yes and yes. We had morning temps in the low 30’s and with wind it felt like the 20’s. That’s below normal but in the high desert, temps can fluctuate a lot.
