- Mindy attempt to make some new friends goes wrong when she serves them some harsh truths about the guys they like.
From Season 1, Episode 17 'Mindy's Birthday' - Mindy's colleagues set up a fake blind date to lure her to a surprise party for her birthday. However, the random guest list is not a success and the gifts make her feel like an overweight loser in love, so she throws a tantrum and leaves early. As Mindy's crestfallen pals try to track her down, Danny and Jeremy compete for the attention of her attractive friend Alex.

Honestly, Mindy’s better off. I do feel kind of bad for the kid who is supposedly Mindy’s goddaughter though.

One thing I didn't like about the show is how female characters were just dropped. I don't think Mindy knew how to write for them, unless they were Tamra or Collette. I liked Betsy...
