I don't have a horse in this race but I was thoroughly entertained watching this game. It's a shame either team had to lose. Both teams left it all out on the field.

@@craigmckenzie4967 False. Money dictates it. NDSU's Athletic Director said in an interview that they have turned down multiple G5 invites. NDSU is in a small media market. That means the ONLY way they can get a power 5 invite is if a fvcking multi-billionaire subsidizes the NCAA/Conference with the difference in revenue that they are looking for out of teams in large media markets and the money that NDSU's media market would generate. And that's in top of needing to build a new stadium with a larger seating capacity which is an FBS rule to have at least a 30,000 seats I believe. NDSU's dome was built in 1992 when the team was still Division 2, so it seats just over 19,000 fans. NDSU also isn't interested in joining a G5 conference unless the playoff committee expands the the playoff bracket to 24 teams so that G5 schools have a decent chance to make the playoffs. NDSU plays for Nattys. They don't play for the annual "No One Gives A Sh!t Bowl." NDSU also doesn't care about the money. It's all about Nattys. Plus, they keep sending players to the NFL as is, their brand is known across the nation, and they hosted College GameDay twice in a 3 year span and were on it again recently as a visitor when Pat McAfee was the guest host. NDSU doesn't need to join the FBS unless they get a power 5 invite. But if Boise hasn't gotten a Power 5 invite yet being in a larger media market than NDSU, I don't assume NDSU will get one. NDSU will just continue to steal power 5 recruits, churn out NFL talent, and win Nattys every year while beating most of the FBS teams that have the balls to even schedule them

No we fucking can't. You can't compete with teams that have 10x the athletic budget and can essentially buy 20+ new players every year like AZ did. No, that isn't an excuse or sour grapes for this game, I'm just pointing out a fact.
There was a clear separation in athletic talent in this game. A team in cold and remote ND is never going to be able to attract the athletes that are needed to compete at an FBS level.
If G5/P5 were separate, I'd say we belong in the G5 level for sure. But, why compete at that level when you can never compete for a national title? So you now have a 12 team playoff, maybe you make it in once in a blue moon, only to get trounced by teams with the advantages listed above. Being in FCS sucks too now with the watered down talent after so many quality teams have left. But it is what it is.
It amazes me that NDSU was a 3 point favorite by Vegas and loss by 3. Imagine if they moved to FBS and got FBS funding like App State

@@Ram-zc4fi you have no idea how this works do you? First they need an invite (theyve had a few). And theyve already saud they would accept a power 5 invite but not group of 5 because the FBS playoff with 4 teams is a joke. They may reconsider with the 12 team expansion

Not hating here, Arizona just got very lucky in how they got away with this win. Impressive? Sure. I do feel this will be more motivating for NDSU than Arizona. Should schedule it again for next season, if they’re not afraid to get a revenge game from NDSU. I bet NDSU will be thinking of this for a little while. Wondering how they could’ve done better. How they could’ve finished drives less sloppy and much stronger. Things changed when they went to the ground game and passed the ball no more than 10 times in the second half. You can get more chances of scoring outside the red zone, when passing the ball after running, but NDSU always seems to forget that. Either way, this will probably Ben a bigger motivator for NDSU in terms of being hungrier to win another title. They don’t like to lose like this.
Only if the Mountain West would send that invite to North Dakota State. Maybe the next realignment will open that door. Good solid game.
*IF* the PAC-2 were smart and not determined to disintegrate (and that's a big "if"), they'd make an offer to NDSU and SDSU and some Mountain West teams. As it is, the Mountain West might make an offer for the PAC-2 to join them. 😆 Great teams in the Mountain West go on to upset P4/P5 teams. I say this as a TCU fan. 🐸

No they are not. They are just an exceptional FCS program that is able to compete with much of the FBS. Be more appropriate for the bottom teams of the FBS to move to FCS.
Nope, location is objectively bad for recruiting talent and we don't have the budget to compete with the big boys. Sure, if G5 was its own thing with its own playoff then sure. NDSU would never win a national title again if they move to FBS because NDSU can't compete with Alabama and Ohio State. If you don't have a level enough playing field to compete, there is no sense moving up.
If North Dakota state becomes a division one school they going to fall off.

@wade5941 More conditioning and execution, and they would be more than ready for this Arizona team. Honestly, there’s no excuses but they had several offensive opportunities to go and seal the deal and couldn’t get it done on either side of the field. That’s on them to learn and remember how it felt to have those opportunities lost, and to come back stronger than before.
What crazy is North Dakota state against Power Five teams is like nine and one that’s like the first time they lost to power five school and like 10 years.
How is 44 that good, it’s not just this game either. And NDSU needs to play a good team in a season opener, they win they solidify their dominance
This had to be maybe one of the only times some of these players played against an I-formation offense or a fullback
U of A has turned their football 🏈 program around. North Dakota State can compete with any School.

The coach.... he ain't that smart.. what was Phil Jackson's record coaching anyone other than the bulls? How about pat Riley coaching anyone other than the Lakers? Entz was given a gift to coach that team... move him to any other school and he would be fired after 2 years. . Including high school..

NDSU gave up like 70 yards in 50 seconds to allow Arizona a field goal right before the half (3 points given up)
NDSU went for it on 4th and 2 in from Arizona's 22 yard line instead of kicking a field goal. (3 points lost)
NDSU realistically could have and should have won this game by at least 13 points
Game could have gone both ways but it came down to the two 4th quarter stops by Arizona that defined the victory. Great game.

@@_JEBUS No it really didn't. If NDSU doesn't fumble on the 11 yard line, they would have had 7 more points. Then if they kick a field goal instead of going for it on the 22 yard line, they win this game 38-31. Had very little to do with Arizona's 2nd half defense. NDSU posted 283 yards on the ground.

The size difference between FCS and FBS players is pretty ridiculous. Arizona is only a mediocre team. But hats off to the Bison for their offense.

I’m a Hawaii college football fan. Can you post Hawaii football highlights every week? I’m not able you watch these games, because I live on the east coast and Hawaii games are not normally broadcasted in my market.

Hawaii would have to start having winning seasons again or play "big names" and win and/or keep it close. Their location is a big problem. If they can get 3+ winning seasons in a row (2001-2004, 2006-2008, 2018-2020) they might become more "relevant" for highlight reels.

Arizona's back on top! Congrats - they are clearly the best program in football now. It's smooth sailing into another national championship.
Don't be obtuse. Nobody's predicting UofA to be a world beater this season, but they just beat a squad that will be a top contender to win another FCS DIVISION I National Championship to go with the 9 they've already won in the last 11 years.
NDSU is good enough to compete against most power conference Bowl Division schools and have routinely traveled into power conference stadiums and embarrassed good football programs. It's a good win for Arizona that came off of another impressive win against a San Diego State football squad that came off a 10-2 season from a year ago. UofA is a much improved team from a season ago and they are no longer a walk-over opponent in the Pac 12 conference. Deal with it!

I think it's easy to dismiss this as an FCS game, even if it is against North Dakota St, but I think Arizona deserves a lot respect for grinding this game out

The fumble on the 11 yard line was the equivalent of the Seahawks passing the ball on the 2 yard line in the Superbowl instead of running the ball. That's 7 points NDSU GAVE to Arizona. Then calling a QB run on 4th and 2 from the 22 yard line? NDSU just gave another 3 points to Arizona. Then the facemask call on 3rd down that allowed Arizona to score another TD instead of punting...that's another 7 points NDSU GAVE to Arizona. NDSU dominated in almost every facet of the game. That goes to show you that NDSU beat NDSU today
