These renders are better then what I see in animated movies
And a few of them had what could be interesting story lines. Granted, many seemed cliché.
There better than Disney
That’s mostly because they’re shorter and therefore get more effort put into them
Because movies have a time limit, they can't spend weeks doing just one scene perfectly or the projects would delay. They do the best they can with the time and the money they have at disposition (because obviously the employees will do a better animation with more economical motivation) , so these kind of animations are better looking because they had much more time to do something small so the effort they put into it is bigger and therefore the results are way more amazing, but if these animations would last longer (like movies) either the quality would become lower or they would took YEARS to be finished

some of the girls..? they littetally all had the same face and body with different hairstyles, but think it was mainly about the movement an storytelling instead of modeling so it's not bad, but most 3D girls kinda look like clones with different color schemes
They look the same cause it’s focused on animation, not modeling. Modeling the character is different from animation in 3D.

Unless the princess is supposed to come across as arrogant, it wouldn't really work in a children's movie. It would feel like body-shaming. Like a handsome prince rejecting a maiden for being too fat.

I think it’s written in the corners not sure if that’s it though.
That princess at 1:53 is incredibly rude. She better be either the villain of the story or the jerky hero who learns to change and ends up with the shorter prince (though he can do way better than her)
Ikr you shouldn’t judge people like that but she’s a very accurate representation of how many people think in society nowadays if that’s what the creator was going for.

@@emperoreternus4 thank you! That's the whole clip :) at Animation Mentor we have different classes in which we do different exercises. Mine are from class 4 (introduction to acting) and 6 (polishing and portfolio). We don't do short films,as the goal is to learn animation and secondary goal to make animations for our demo reels :)

I recall the day vivid. I arrived at the crime scene alone, completely and utterly alone. I meticulously inspected every nook and cranny of that study, hunting for clues. Much like a panther stalked at the prey.

All of these deserve to be turned into TV series, games, movies, EVERYTHING! Such amazing talent should go to the next level.
Waiting for the day these animators just create their own movie. Maybe we will finally have a new disney competitor. Of course, it will probably take 3-4 years to create a decently lengthed movie with this level of quality and time put into such short scenes.
Okay but not @ how *smooth* and realistic some of these animations are. Wow, I applaud these guys.

1:53 I'm tall, but I hate women like that. Dude, (probably) rescued from a dragon, but you're faulting him for something no one can control.
People have become so judgmental over these past few years and both sides (men and women) expect impossible things from each other. There are things far beyond someone’s control and people should learn to accept that and love each other as they are however these days it seems like that’s a impossible goal. Hopefully future generations won’t act so shallow and closed minded. 🤞
I remember watching these years back when y'all still had the round guy models. Technology and creativity have come a long way 😊👍

Good Job! The South Americans once again make everything seems so fluid and emotional. Thank you for crediting the sound and lighting was done by other people. The showreels of past gave off the students did it all.
Yeah, we did this as a collaborative production. Students did all the animation and we had a small team of AM Alumni and others work via Artella to do the lighting and comp. Directed by Tim Rudder. A whole new approach for us this year to bring lots of talents together and we're stoked on the result.

These are brilliant. The gestures are SPOT ON, it makes it much more natural, interesting and relatable. I love this showcase, it shows a real talent.

oh my goodness! these have improved so much since 2015! makes me want to learn animation myself! the animation is so fluid, the facial movements--they actually look like they're saying the words! so much effort put into these i'm stunned
