There is something beautiful about watching a new generation experience hip hop from a different era and witness how the richness of artistry transcends time and space. They have no weird preconceptions about they style of music or the genre. My one question, did their moms not play music when they were growing up?? That’s rare where all types of fans bases love and appreciate your work on a particular album. I feel like each passing year, people forget about the fugees. I still prefer pac, big, big l and wu-tang but none of those guys did well commercially (when they were alive pac/big) than the Fugees did with “the score”

Technically Lori Lieberman’s song. And you should play her the song it was written about- Empty Chairs by Don McLean.

Masterofsparks Hwy6 same story here with half the songs used on the talent shows on TV, and the songs sampled on hundreds of rap tracks. The good part of that is when you hear a song you disliked as sung by the original artist, but love it as tweaked by a new artist.

My dad played the original version for me when this came out. Both versions have their own beauty but even after all these years I have to say... Lauryn and The Fugees brought this song to LIFE! ❤️

Would love to see you all react to Luther Vandross’ live performance of “A House Is Not A Home” -Performance from the 80s..He was truly one of the best R&B vocalists & artists of our time... 💕 I believe it was a performance from the NAACP Awards honoring Dionne Warwick.

Black radio has failed us- when these lil youngins don't know these artists or their classics. Radio and video introduced us to all the legends who came before us when we were growing up....and where are your parents WTH! But it's cute tho, at least you're learning smh

Kids today don't listen to the radio like we did. We heard these incredible songs from a fairly wide scope over and over and over. They find their music on social media, streaming services, and video gaming: Tik Tok, Instagram, CZcams, Snapchat, Twitch, Roblox, etc... often used as background. So while we were "served" playlists on limited channels and platforms (radio, TV, cable, Albums/Tapes/Cds/Videos/DVDs), they have far more options (extensive media, endless sites) - the world has opened up.
