- Here's my cover of Laserdance's "Power Run"! The song is part of my new "Synthesizer Legends - Volume 1" album, which is available now: zyxdance.lnk.to/SynthesizerLe...
The album is a collection of cover tunes of famous and less well-known instrumental synthesizer gems from the eighties. Some of the songs on the album have been part of my live repertoire for many years already, while other songs are completely new arrangements. The first single from the album belongs to the later group: Laserdance’s legendary italo disco / spacesynth hit “Power Run”. The music was recorded using only analog synthesizers and analog drum machines.
Arranged, performed, recorded, mixed and mastered by Kebu / Sebastian Teir
The original was written by Michael van der Kuy and co-arranged by Erik van Vliet.
The video production was supported by Musiikin Edistämissäätiö, for which I'm truly grateful.

Many years ago - still been a child - I got a cassette with "Synthesizer Greatest Hits". Back then I fell in love with the sound of this genre.
Guess it was two years ago when I discovered your music (via the "Street Hawk" theme) .. and I instantly changed back being a child.

The original sound is kept. There is no doubt, this is LaserDance, however an excellent cover by Kebu.

I discovered the beautiful world of Laserdance and Koto in 2020 at age 16! I love the two groups so much and the man behind the later Koto/current Laserdance - Michiel van der Kuy! This cover got a lot of views - I guess there are still many people appreciating spacesynth in the 2020s!
Also, new Laserdance album came out 2 months ago. Give it a listen if you already haven't! I hope MVDK never stops making new spacesynth as long as he lives, he literally transformed me as a person.
