Juan Steinbrenner has a nice ring to it.😂😂
Ohtani eats his lunch 🥪

Wow, I remember when Arod signed for an unprecedented $25M/yr w/ the rangers and it was a monstrous contract. But talks about $65M+/yr for 1 player these days is INSANE!!
Yes that is but someone like Ohtani and Trout actually deserved their contract being best pitcher/Dh and world class CF.
Soto on the other hand is just a hitter and a decent RF not the best. For him 340 is more than enough. Unlike Mike trout and Ohtani with 5 MVps, Soto’s resume shows nothing. So 340 is great
@londzale3163 Trout? Really? He's not worth crap. Have $500 coming on betting his unders. If trout was an nba player, people would bash him every day.
@@Bo55world bro he got 3 straight MVPs nobody in modern day baseball got that in their resume

@@londzale3163no he didn’t lol? MVP’s in ‘14, ‘16 and ‘19
Interesting what Michael said about the SD clubhouse. I wonder if that ties in to Soto's comments nearing the end of the season last year, when he said that they don't play like a team. He said they have a bunch of guys all trying to do well for themselves and nobody is thinking about just getting on base for the next guy and driving the ball the other way to move the runner over. And of course there were all kinds of rumors about that team not clicking personally, but it sounded in the moment like he was calling out the clubhouse strife altogether.
Source: trust me bro..😂
He won his ring already. He’s going to get the money where ever it takes him even if it means the team he goes to struggles for years to come cause they will have him but can’t afford other contracts.
I think if Yankees win the World Series, strong chance he stays in the Bronx. Yankees filled with talent and could compete for another championship. But probably have to cut Rizzo DJ & Glyber
they dont have to cut them they're free agents 🤦🏻♂
Got news for you, Soto already has a WS ring. I think he likes being a Yankee but there's no way he signs a deal during the season unless he gets a ridiculous offer. I think the chances of that happening is zero. Once he becomes a FA, you know he will get almost an Ohtani-like offer from Mets.
@@guard099club option next year for rizzo. So much confidence yet you're wrong. Pretty crazy

There is no player on this planet worth what Boris wants for Soto. Boris will kill this players career.
Boras is killing baseball.
Nah! It is just the times.
@@JonnySublimeSteve Cohen is who Boras will try to use to drag up the price. Also everyone forgets that back in the lockout, there's so much argument about Steve Cohen spending and all the money he was giving out, that some owners wanted more restrictions and penalties for going over the luxury tax. We're not far from the next CBA in 2 to 3 years, and if Steve Cohen keeps overpaying for players, eventually is gonna come back and bite him if the owners actually get more restrictions and penalties for having high payrolls. Steve Cohen is probably already aware of that.
Boris 😂😂😂 I'm like what Puerto Ricans got to do with this 😂
Soto will not only make hundreds of millions of dollars but in the nyc market, he WILL be on billboards and will make almost as much in ads and sponsorships as he will make with the Yankees!!
He needs to be a Yankee
I think if the Yankees offer him a short term mega contract, he will sign
Especially with the potential to enter free agency again is enticing
Ohtani is a unicorn 🦄- in every sense. Ohtani just wants to WIN. Deferred $68M per year. (Now present day value $46M only). Only player (or athlete) who can and (key part) WANTS TO DO IT all for winning. Like many, Soto will be looking for the most money 💰- Period. For his ego, he will ask at least $47M to break Ohtani AAV. And I don’t blame him, just saying nobody wants to win more than Ohtani. All cliche”Put up or shut up or money where mouth is etc “. Ohtani is 🦄 in every aspect. That’s why, I don’t get all the HATERS or true baseball fans not wanting him to thrive unless you’re a Dodger HATER- it’s hard coming from a long SF Giants fan. Now living in Los Angeles. More so appreciate Ohtani’s GREATNESS and overall dedication to WINNING.
Ohtani’s AVV is for the ledger entry only. His contract is 700M and not 460M. Present value is for IRS calculations. As for the number that came out last week Ohtani already brought in $520M in Japanese sponsors contracts for Dodgers until May (two month of his new season) that’s an ROI no one can even come close to.
Soto have a WS ring already, Ohtani not.
@@luismateo1395 that’s not Ohtanis fault. And the WS is not because of Soto alone, he had a team.
I remember reading Soto want Ohtani $$$$$
So goodluck to the Yankees keeping him in New York Yankees.
Going to L.A.
Soto does not bring enough outside baseball to the team to get an Ohtani money 💰!! Ohtani $700M deal already paying off - some say by year 2-3. Dodgers already got 9 new Japanese corporate sponsors ($5-10M per year each). NOBODY in sports nor MLB can do that like Ohtani. He brings in entire country of Japan of 140M people.
Go cry 😂😂😂😂yankees signing him
No one shoukd get more than othani unless they can also pitch
@@broman74dude95according to numbers that came out last week the new Japanese sponsors multi year contracts with Dodgers value is now $520M(!) as of end May.
This does NOT include, ohtanis merch sales, Japanese Broadcast rights, tourism revenues for the city and Dodgers and other spin off revenues..😅
Whoever gets Soto is going to massively overpay for him. When he said it should be more than Ohtani, I was like, that's ridiculous Ohtani is better and will bring in more money.
Kay is a trip because one minute he says 29 other teams will bid for Soto and the next he's naming 4-5 that could .There are NOT and I repeat NOT 29 other teams that will bid for Soto. His price is going to be too high for all but maybe 4 teams and that's the Yankees Mets Dodgers and possibly Red Sox. Mets stink and the Dodgers are paying Ohtani and I don't know if the Sox want to swim in that deep pool. Soto loves being a Yankee all Hal has to do is get Boras to be satisfied which may not be easy but he must keep him. Stop with the Luxury Tax and the other investors you must keep Soto in pinstripes. This is a really rare and special circumstance that has to happen.
He likely meant all 29 have the right to bid on him. Michael knows there are only a handful that could actually open the vault.
@@adiedo and he explained that very thing a minute later. Mr. Nixon must've stopped watching after 29 and _just had to_ comment and make sure everyone knew how 'wrong' Kay was
I’m not listening to all the smoke, Hal and Soto are saying what they have to, Soto is not going to the Mets, Cohen will offer large contract but if Yamamoto declined and chose the better franchise, Soto isn’t dumb he knows his star is brighter in the Bronx he can make up the difference with endorsements I’m not convinced Soto wants to squeeze out every last dollar just because Boras is his agent it’s not always about getting the most money it’s about getting him a good deal somewhere he wants to play.
thats not how boras works. when you sign on with him you go to the highest bidder, period.
@@garyt19651 I know how Boras works but he ultimately works for Soto not the other way around, Soto will take a little less to stay with the Yankees because his marketability is better with the Yankees! Plus the Yankees can give put incentives for bonuses where he can earn more and his endorsements would be better as a Yankee, anyway we’ll just have to wait and see who’s correct.
@@garyt19651Steve Cohen already got some owners pissed when he gave Max Scherzer that contract because they thought he was raising the prices for other free agents. We all know players see what others got, and then they'll try to get the same or more. The next CBA is coming very soon and we could see another lockout if some of the owners start to push for more restrictions on the luxury tax which we all know the players don't want.
The Yankees did not re-sign Judge during the season, they sure as hell wont sign Soto during it.
Michael Kay shut up. My man works for them and talk behind them. He tells the truth, but shady.
Soto is tailored made for the Yankees. NY is basically Dominican Republic now and He can be the face for them as well. Everything is perfect for him there! Hopefully he stays put in pinstripes. 🙏🏽👍🏽
It won't start with a 5...Soto didn't turn down 440 million years ago to take a paltry 50-100 million more after all he's accomplished in the years since and how much better he is. Soto, like Judge, bet on himself. And he is winning that bet.
💯
Re Boston (I'm a NYY fan from NY) they do have the money from what I understand and a big DR population. So they very well could be in the running in the beginning of FA. I want him here in the BX. If Yanks go to and win WS I honestly would only be bothered if he went to the Mets or Boston.
Interesting November? His agent is Scott Boras. Boras will drag this out until February.
I agree with MK regarding the Yankees signing during the season and how The Steinbrenners are super savvy when it comes to making or breaking deals. I mean Juan is the man, I have seen NOT seen anyone with his caliber and generational talent that has been consistent in my 40 plus years being NYY fan. I would love to have the entire make it hard for Soto to leave but I know the Steinbrenners know that they have one or 2 possible generational talents in their farm systems as well. I personally would for JS to stay but at a detriment to handcuffing our payroll for the remaining 20-30 years of my...Sorry but not sorry.
Why in the world would Soto want to go to the Mets? Just for money alone?
Only for the money
Give Juan Soto a billion dollar contract! That's all!
Yankees announced they have no money 💰 for next year
I’m not one of those Cub fans who complains Ricketts is cheap, but I don’t see them spending big on Soto even though they should have the money and Soto is exactly what they need.
Why does no one seem to mention the annual appreciation in value of the team? According to Forbes, the Yankees are worth $7.55B. That is a 6% or a $450M increase over the previous year. More than enough to pay for Soto who is a brand juggernaut who will further drive team valuation. Yes, the $450M is not income but what billionaire wants to pay income taxes versus deferring the capital gains?
Not mentioning the $700 mil these baseball players think there worth. Unreal. But been a Yankee fan for 47 years. These 10 o’clock games that r on prime, apple, yes, Netflix and whatever ever other channel they decide to screw the fans on. It’s an absolute disgrace. Talking about a baseball team with their own network. And the fact it cost $1200 to bring your family of four to a game. Your greed is ruining the game of baseball. Including your rule changes that are catering to television networks. Just about had it with the game in general
If the Yankees finish strong, and stay competitive, Soto will want to stay. I'm a met fan. He's not coming to the mets. Who would want to at this point?
Kay is a clown 🤡👈😄 he's leaving 3 things out 1. Boras isn't seen as the master of deals anymore look how long it took for Snell and Montgomery to sign, Boras is actually hurting his clients chances at bigger contracts, the Yankees were offering Snell more than the Giants and he ended up in San Francisco for a lot less money than he wanted 2. It isn't all about money for Soto he wants to be in a winning organization too and no amount of money that a dead end organization like the Mets throws at him will change that and 3. Ohtani got that contract from the Dodgers because he's a two way playing unicorn that generates money whereas Soto is not🤷♂️ I see soto getting a contract somewhere in the neighborhood from 500 million to 550 million dollars and NO before anyone says I'm a biased Yankees fan I'm not lol 😄 been a Dodgers fan since the 90s
Mike Kay $70 million per years that’s absurd and an exaggeration. Stop giving Scott Boris idea. If Juan Soto doesn’t realize or appreciate he ‘s playing for the Yankees story franchise with a great fans and teammate Judge. Then let him walk, if he goes to Mets or any other teams beside the Dodgers it will be a very long time before he win championships. Soto don’t chase the biggest bidder, choose a team where you feel great playing for and the love of the fans.
The funny thing with these old Yankee uncles is that they always want to have some reason to put Yankees on a pedestal and be biggest and best (inflated and made up perception)
“Ohtani is “only” 460M (present day value) so Soto as a Yankee will blow past that..”
The present day value is just for the ledger entry for IRS.
Ohtani is a 700M player, which ever you turn your butt!
Only reason the ledger entries says 460M is Ohtani deferred 97% of his salary and the accounting requires, for the sake of tax rules another calculation.
Numbers just came out a week ago, Ohtani brought in $520M in revenues for the Dodgers in 2 month of regular season play. (Not including Ohtanis Merch, Japanese Broadcast revenues, tourism revenues for city, other income) by a dozen new Japanese sponsors multi year commercial contracts with the Dodgers!
THATS a valuable investment with fast returns!
Soto (with/without deferrals) salary is an expense, which Steinbrenner has to think if it really worth it or get two-three more young talents in the market may be better?
Does Soto really want to play for a team in disarray like the Mets even for 65M/year?
He’ll go to whoever writes the biggest check
Loosing Soto for me would be like loosing Judge or Cole. Soto is a Yankee and needs to stay a Yankee but I doubt that Hal will do what ever it takes to keep him and that scares a lot of Yankee fans. I was on the fence about him signing Judge last year. a lot of us were waiting for the announcement that he signed with the freaking Dodgers or Giants. Hal, for god sakes, give Soto what he wants and pay the man, he is well worth every dime he wants.
All the players that worth that much $$$$ have died..Absolutely no way any player is worth that much $$$$ without an MVP without a Triple Crown and without consistently playing 154 games a year and in the MVP voting every year
Isn’t this the guy who assured us that Aaron Judge was going to sign with San Francisco?
Stein should quote a price, if Soto want to wear anything other than Yankee Pinstripes than fine. See ya. Go to the Mets😂
I honestly think that Juan Soto will sign with the Yankees and the reason why is who doesn't want to be a Yankee it shouldn't always be about the money even the money let's say he's going to get enough to be set for the rest of his life and get the play for the best team ever the New York Yankees
When was the last time a team had the highest paid player on its roster, and they won a World Series?
Yankees in '09??
You are right Michael but we may still run Hal out of town.
Why would Soto want to play for The Mets.
LMAO
Because they’ll pay him a dollar more than the Yankees
And if God forbid he get's hurt like Acuña did before November🤷🏻♂️how much will he be worth ?
Ohtani got hurt last season and he still got his money
@@nervenllarena4948According to numbers out last week.
Ohtani already brought in Japanese sponsorships for dodgers (as of end May) worth $520M! That doesn’t include revenues from Ohtani’s merchandise sales, Japanese broadcast revenues, increased tickets sales, tourism revenues for the city…😅
@@nervenllarena4948exactly I don’t see nobody complaining about that people wants Soto to take a paycut and shut up he’s a great player a GREAT PLAYER so pay that man ..the Yankees got the money they’re the wealthiest team in baseball
I'm drinking the Kool Aid. I'm a true believer that he wants to be resigned and stay for his career. I don't think he's going to take the monster offers from the other bidders no matter how high they go. I think he's going to use them to get the absolute zenith out of the Yankees and resign. This is going to cost Hal Steinbrenner's soul in dollars. But Juan is staying. Faith is a hell of a drug.
Then, reality 😂

If soto was serious about wanting to sign an extension mid-season, news would have already broke that he fired Scott Borus. If Ohtani was 700 million, Soto has to be 340 max. Because he ain’t pitching. And 300-400 is Mike trout money. And Mike trout has 3 MVPs to back that up with. Soto has nothing.
Also, Soto is about to have the best season of his career with the Yankees and have a career high in almost every category, particularly hitting 40+ homers something he's never done in his career.
