Soto on the other hand is just a hitter and a decent RF not the best. For him 340 is more than enough. Unlike Mike trout and Ohtani with 5 MVps, Soto’s resume shows nothing. So 340 is great

Interesting what Michael said about the SD clubhouse. I wonder if that ties in to Soto's comments nearing the end of the season last year, when he said that they don't play like a team. He said they have a bunch of guys all trying to do well for themselves and nobody is thinking about just getting on base for the next guy and driving the ball the other way to move the runner over. And of course there were all kinds of rumors about that team not clicking personally, but it sounded in the moment like he was calling out the clubhouse strife altogether.

Ohtani is a unicorn 🦄- in every sense. Ohtani just wants to WIN. Deferred $68M per year. (Now present day value $46M only). Only player (or athlete) who can and (key part) WANTS TO DO IT all for winning. Like many, Soto will be looking for the most money 💰- Period. It isn't all about money for Soto he wants to be in a winning organization too and no amount of money that a dead end organization like the Mets throws at him will change that and 3. Ohtani got that contract from the Dodgers because he's a two way playing unicorn that generates money whereas Soto is not🤷‍♂️ I see soto getting a contract somewhere in the neighborhood from 500 million to 550 million dollars and NO before anyone says I'm a biased Yankees fan I'm not lol 😄 been a Dodgers fan since the 90s

The funny thing with these old Yankee uncles is that they always want to have some reason to put Yankees on a pedestal and be biggest and best (inflated and made up perception)
“Ohtani is “only” 460M (present day value) so Soto as a Yankee will blow past that..”
The present day value is just for the ledger entry for IRS.
Ohtani is a 700M player, which ever you turn your butt!
Only reason the ledger entries says 460M is Ohtani deferred 97% of his salary and the accounting requires, for the sake of tax rules another calculation.
Numbers just came out a week ago, Ohtani brought in $520M in revenues for the Dodgers in 2 month of regular season play. (Not including Ohtanis Merch, Japanese Broadcast revenues, tourism revenues for city, other income) by a dozen new Japanese sponsors multi year commercial contracts with the Dodgers!
