Great video! You actually didn’t lose a rubber dome. There is always one less than places to put them. The primary “Enter” key has a place for two but only uses one.

Back in the day, we'd run medium res mode for desktops usually, lots of apps support medium res, and you can get a little mono emulator accesory that uses the medium mode with greyscales. Works ok, but for midi software you'd always want the mono monitor. It's not so much that TOS1 won't support a blitter, if you were installing a blitter, you'd be installing a new TOS as well - but regardless, very few ST games relied on the blitter - there were STE only games, and adding a blitter to an ST does not make it an STE unfortunately.

Even if you put TOS1.04 (first TOS with Blitter support) or later in the ST you will not have Bitter support. :-/ 240/520/1040 ST(f/m) don't have Blitter the first machine with a Blitter from the factory was The Mega ST2. The STE/TT/Falcon all have Blitter and hardware scrolling.
Sadly there are only a few Programs that support the Blitter because of the lack there of in early STs.
If you want to boost the TOS performance you can try one of the many VDI replacements. NVDI comes primary to mind. If you want to see a really fast TOS try Kaos-TOS It's a heavily patched version of TOS 1.04. But if you want to play games and demos you should use TOS 1.02, it's the most compatible.
