Just so you know, I plan to continue checking various strategy and strategy-adjacent games I find potentially interesting.
I used to do it fairly regularly back in the day, and wanted to go back to doing that for a while now.
Obviously, the usual Civ, XCOM etc. stuff will happen too. I just need more variety in my life.
Excited to see a new variety! I myself am enjoying your age of wonders 4 play throughs. Cheers Marbz
Sounds very good. I don't mind a bit of variety.
I think this is a great idea, you can bring a whole slew of new games to the attention of other people who share your taste in (strategy & other) games.
This is the right choice, your reviews are very good
I think the choice to feature mostly Civ and Xcom content has been a very unfortunate one for the channel for many years. Super excited to see new games and new content on the channel!
Dev here. Thanks for checking out our game! About priority points. You can click on your gladiator and then drag the sliders that are above enemy gladiators. If you click directly on enemy gladiator it will select that gladiator instead and open him info panel. We're working on some QoL improvement for it right now.
Gladiator Guild Manager looks fun. Thanks for bringing new games to my attention, Marbozir.
Saw the thumbnail, saw the name, clicked right away. I know that I'll be in for a ride. Now back to watching the video.
Been playing this on and off since it hit early access it has changed a lot. Pretty fun game IMO
Bought the game. This wasn't even on my radar, but looks quite fun!
“I think I’m gonna pass on hell.”
Hey Marbo, the STRONGEST combo i have found is the Drummer+Stormbringer. Storm bringer is a melee nuker with AOE that has insane INT ratios that delete the entire enemy team in a second. with enough strength, Drummer will pull their entire team together in a tight ball. Give both these units the tier 3 ability "Hold my beer"(teleport to the middle of the enemy team) to make the one shot combo near instant. Later on you can add Darkmage(pulls enemies together) and cryomancer(Freezes enemies) to help the combo as well. Also shaman is op af early-late.
Cool combo.
And, yeah, I noticed that Shaman's are incredible early on and pretty much throughout the game, as well. Only Dark Mages and Pyromancers would crush them, so then just needed a plan to counter them. The game is kind of cool in how imbalanced it is, heh.
@@davidmills1520 Yeah, I also found that mages obliterate that combo. You need the bonkers OP T4 ability "absolute Guardians Veil"(Redirects all damage to one character) + "book of invincible shield" ( invincibility for one character) mostly to beat the mages. It literally just makes your entire team invincible. Wish the game had more variety and less cheesy op stuff, though most of the characters and abilities just suck :(
I like the idea of Perma death but its so unplayablef
@@BBalloonAh, cool idea for beating the mages. I found an alternative way to do it that also worked super well, using Banshees and Worgs to complement the Shamans (I also went with 1 summoner and 1 archer.)
Mix in a shaman for heals and fire damage = great addition to any combo
How long have you had 100k subs?
How does this compare to We Who Are About To Die?
I haven't played that one, so I have no idea. Maybe someone else will know.
We Who Are is direct control of one gladiator (though sometimes you have helpers). You aim where to swing your weapons, when to block, and the details of how to train them. Equipment has durability, it can break, and there's a store that refreshes with new equipment to get. But it's a bit more like Chivalry 2 vs AI in that sense. Gladiator Guild you manage your soldiers in terms of bonus skill perks, attribute points, and items that buff stats (or consumables that buff, heal, etc but then are gone). You do not have any kind of direct control of your units though you can tweak their priorities at the start of any battle. Once on the board and the fight starts you can not directly control anything and sort of just hope it all works out.
IMO they are both really fun but for different reasons and they have very different styles. Also Gladiator Guild is 100% made up universe with undead and such whereas We Who Are is angling for a more realistic Roman era setting. Hope that helps a bit.
@@HillHomeGaming Thanks a lot. I prefer We Who Are About To Die.
