Thanks for posting your awesome build. I just started on my WJ. Not a clue what I'm doing, I just know what I would like to do. Fricken rusty bolts really through a wrench into the progress. Your jeep looks so cool on those trails.
Rusty parts make it hard to work on for sure. I am from Michigan so I understand. Fortunately I started with a rust free florida car on my build.

I have been working on the GTT in sections over a weekend, I started on the western side going east. I will be going from Helen Ga, to SC to finish out this month. Great video guys.

Me and a group of jeepers are headed to Charlie’s creek Sunday to do a trail clean up at all the camp grounds
Where are you guys meeting Sunday? Do you have a facebook group or something where everyone is at? I live in Young Harris and would love to do something like this. I recently joined the blairsville jeepers page to meet some folks. Just got another jeep after almost 10 years of no 4x4.

awesome video. i did the western portion(west to east) until i had to cut off around blue ridge, GA. i can't wait to continue the middle portion from west to east soon!. i have 2 kids and cant wait to take them on this when they get a little older. do you have a particular section of the traverse that is your favorite?
The closed section of Tray Mountain Rd is my favorite. Hopefully they will open it up again.

22:29 My Jeep gets the best mileage on 89 but it's a '94 XJ with the 4.0
I've ran tanks of all three, but in Oregon we only have 87, 89 and 91 but I'll definitely never run 87.
I should probably do a study on the next trip see which one gives best performance.

That is a beautiful WJ!! I love mine but the only issues I have had were with the calipers locking up! Had 2 front and 1 rear lock up on me... a common issue I have come to learn...
Also how do you have your rack attached to the roof? Did you run a back plate inside the roof or build a structure?
They came with Teves or Akebono calipers. One is better that the other I guess. Cant remember which one. ON the roof rack I built custom mounts that use 4 bolts each that go into rivnuts. Pulling the headliner and using large washers or backing plate would be a little better but so far so good.

Cool video, just purchased and 04 wj.....what size lift you recommend to fit some 33 without having to cut or trim body or bumper?
I would only do long arm either 4-6" springs. The biggest you can run is less than a 31" tire without trimming. The fender wells are very small.
I, too, have an 04 Grand 4.0 (Special Edition). Just installed an RT Offroad 2" coil spacer lift to clear a set of 31" Goodyear Trailrunner ATs (265 / 70 x 16).
I don't care for the AWD or the toothpick sized front driveshaft. Both will be converted to a double cardan driveshaft and a 242J t-case for that 2WD option.
What size lift and tires are u running? I’ve got a 4” rough country with 265’s. About the biggest I can get off my lift.
6" springs, custom long arms, 35" x 12.50-17 BFG's

Hey guys...what roof top tent is that? What do you think?
It is a Moombassa I bought used. I am convinced they are all made in the same factory in China and private label branded. I like being well off the ground but once you are set up you are stuck at camp. So as with anything has its pluses and minuses.
What outfitters did you raft with?
We rented a kayak and my friend David in the video was our guide. He is a local nut.
