Blade1hunter you can tell the difference between mid-life crisis and depression. someone in their mid life crisis all the sudden wants to go on a whole bunch of vacations and do a whole bunch of crazy things. Geoff is just sad and lonely

The transition to black and white with Micheal is hilarious.
The one thing that really worries me is that you can constantly see Geoff blinking a hell of a lot, more than he even should be which can mean that you're trying to fight back tears. Coupled with the fact that in a lot of their more recent video's you can hear the other guys say that Geoff comes into work "hot" which is pretty much their way of saying extremely angry and testy I actually think that Geoff's being affected by this.

I know he was somewhat joking but I'm starting to think that if it weren't for Millie, Geoff might be dead at this point. He seems so fucking miserable, I feel so bad for him. So many people think he's living the dream cause he plays video games for a living but there's just so much shit you don't see or hear about.
yeah but this is more personal life as opposed to his work life. this still might be a dream job to him. he also just seems like a miserable person at times.
id be miserable too if i was married to griffin. listen to the podcasts when jack was the newest guy there versus now. griffon is a fun vampire and is bleeding geoff dry.
not to mention geoff loves millie more than anything, but she obviously could not care less about geoff. that has to come from griffon. goeff carries himself now like he did when he got divorced way back then.
violet_vanguard I think the Millie situation is one part her age and or maturity, as she seems very intelligent for someone her age. The other half might be his own parenting, as Geoff honestly seems to me like a very beta male, and can be pushed around easily. He only acts like an alpha around the office because he is the boss and signs their paychecks, but any other time he is the whiniest most beta seeming member of the entire group. No offense to him, but the evidence speaks for itself.
you clearly know very little about Geoff. he's not an alpha, he has never even claimed to be one. he frequently tells stories about him getting his ass kicked-the porch story in particular sticks out in my mind-but no it has nothing to do with millie's age or Geoff's parenting style, it's 100% griffon.
even before this stuff, like 6 years ago, millie had a class project to talk about her parents and she ONLY talked about griffon.
not her rich successful dad-just her then nobody mom.
and when Geoff suggested that she talk about him too she just goes, "why?"
no kids think like that, that's someone they trust or respect putting the idea in their head, someone like her mother who has always been a selfish twat out for herself.
yea, Geoff could stand to be more alpha, but if that's not who he is, that's not who he is.

violet_vanguard I don't know anymore about Geoff than what he presents to the audience, and someone getting their ass kicked does not instantly signify beta. But letting his family walk all over him does, especially his daughter who either by his hand or Griffon's has been raised to not give a shit about how she acts if that is what is to be believed. Geoff not disciplining his daughter or not stepping in when Griffon is does signify a Beta status. And its not so much being an Alpha, he doesn't have to have dominion over the home at all times, but just to stand up for himself when need be, and yelling at Gavin doesn't count. Just in the same way that Micheal can turn off the asshole when he needs to.

It disturbs me how much I relate to Geoff. My doctor's told me I had depression issues, and I really wish AH and RT would direct Geoff to get some help.
KaiserXIII but this doesn't seem to be Geoff actually having depression. Michael and Gavin seemed surprised by what Geoff is doing. It sounds more like he's lonely without his wife, and after Millie goes to bed, he just doesn't have much to do. Like he said, he can't just take Millie to a bar with him, plus she has school. He's told a story before where he had this irrational fear that snakes were going to come out of his house, so he was sleeping in the couch when Griffon wasn't there. It sounds like he just needs some background noise to fall asleep when he's by himself, which a ton of people need. I'm afraid of being in the dark on my own, so I haven't slept in a week and a half simply because my husband has decided to sleep in our living room and guard our porch (our neighbor has been hanging out on our porch and looking into our windows for some reason) and he wants to catch him. I have major reoccurring depression with anxiety, and the anxiety might be another reason for why I'm not sleeping, but I know depression isn't a reason for it. Geoff just misses his wife, cause he loves her....and she keeps the toilet snakes away apparently.
