This particular scene in the movie is the ultimate expression of faith. Author is Christ Jesus..."do as i command...", and only when Percival decided in his heart that this time, he would follow his Kings order...then, and only then...the Lady of the Lake raised her hand to receive Excalibur. You must have faith.
Amén!
Muchas gracias.

The ultimate soundtrack to the ultimate motion picture of the Arthurian legend!
Perceval: [holding the Grail to Arthur's lips] You and the land are one. Drink.
Arthur: I am wasting away. I cannot die and I cannot live.
Perceval: Drink from the chalice. You will be reborn and the land with you.
Arthur: [drinks] Perceval... I didn't know how empty was my soul... until it was filled.
Kay: [Upon seeing Arthur cured] Arthur.
Arthur: [Speaking to Kay] Ready my knights for battle. They shall ride with their King once more. I have lived through others far too long. Lancelot bore my honor and Guenevere my guilt. Mordred bore my sins. My Knight have fought my causes. And now my brother, I shall be... King!
What a masterpiece
Lancelot: Arthur…forgive.
Arthur: Lancelot.
Lancelot: My salvation is to die a knight of the round table.
Arthur: You are that.. and much more. You are it’s greatest knight. You are what is best in men.
It continues to be the standard in terms of movies about King Arthur. Truly a definitive work. There is none better.
- The sword! You promised me the sword!
- And you shall have it. But to heal, not to hack!
Talk! Talk is for lovers, Merlin!
@@logancox6548 I Need the Sword to become King.
@@blvp2145 You're not the One, Uther. Give me the child. I shall protect him.
Excalibur fans are good people ❤
Arian lover or not..Wagner was an incredible composer...this is just amazing piece of music!
When I was a child I would see people cry during an Orchestra or Opera. And thought wow how music can touch someone's soul . Now as I'm older I understand ,that to this day every time I hear this it brings a tear to my eye.
One day a king will come, and the sword will rise again
I just repeated that in the voice of the legend
Uh, I'm still waiting....
King JESUS 👑
holy mother of god, *Excalibur* from 1981
what a hidden treasure,
watching it tonight thanks to you, Gilles
One of the best movies ever made . I'd rather watch EXCALIBUR than any Quentin Tarantino movie any day or night .
Tarantino, the racist feet lover
"Listen, strange women lyin' in ponds distributin' swords is no basis for a system of government."
Why not? Could be worse?
"I mean if I went round saying I was an Emperor just because some moistened Bint lobbed a scimitar at me- they'd lock me away!" :)
It isn't...?
I've just seen Captain America and during the film I heard that music and I couldn't believe to my hears, that was Excalibur! The movie of my life, the movie, in a way, gave me the force to go on, I was more than a teenager when I saw it, very troubled in my mind.
So the movie became THE MOVIE to me, i've seen it throug the years so many times and this music, thanks Wagner and Jones, is MY music!
Thanks again!
This is all various themes from Richard Wagner operas, mostly the Ring Cycle.
Outstanding movie all the way around! ESPECIALLY THE SCORE!
Best Authur movie ever!
This movie is so cool
Guards, Knights, Squires. Prepare for battle!
Arthur's father..."Arthur, where did you get that?"....Arthur...."out of the stone, father.." ...Arthur's father...."Well, put it back!"......priceless script....
That moment always gets a chuckle from my wife and I. Love it.
I absolutely LOVE this!
This movie is a master piece. And the end is so satisfying...
"Anull nathrac, uthas bethud, dothien tienvay!" One of my All Time Favorite Films!
Yes, that's it!
Careful... it ... can.... damage your beauty. Alas.
Rearranging Wagner... brave man Gunga Dihn...
Very nice job sir.
''Come father, let us embrace at last''
Once more I will ride with my knights and dream the dream that once was and become king
Come Father, let's embrace at last.
EPIC! n awsome the theme tells a story by it self
Deep inside me lays my history, this melody reveals it.
I SO want my toilet to play this Everytime I sit down.😮
Classic
Great stuff.
A dream to some,a nightmare to others!!
Best scene in the whole film!
beauty and freedom
ARE YOU MAD? THE ALLIANCE!!!!
I Must Have Her!
This peice underpinned my life... long story..
But the wagnarian usage in this epic are to die. For...
not a BAD underpinning, friend!
Один из самых любимых фильмов детства
Wagner. Ziegfried funeral march
Good!
Mon film préféré ! Et Wagner sublime
Listening to this I now realize that Zimmer uses Wagner quite liberally in his "Gladiator" score.
Actually Wagner
Siegfried’s death in Gotterdamarung
Colosal Wagner per secula seculorum
Aliglitza and the Family..
Look into the EYES of the dragon and despair..
He MADE the show!
anyone know how to figure out the bpm for this song? i can't seem to pin it down and none of the sources online seem to be accurate as far as i can tell
Would it not be on Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen or Ring Cycle?
@@turtleofthenorthshore6427 what does this mean
@@zacharoninoodle The music that is used on the film Excalibur is from the opera by Richard Wagner. So maybe if you looked up the opera details it might tell you all the info. I know one part is Siegried's funeral march and i they have this music clip as Brunnhilde Heilige Braut or something.
@@turtleofthenorthshore6427 The opera's sheet music should have it
They did not count bpm. Music is notated in "time."
Hmm, no mention of Wagner in the title - and this piece confuses me a bit because I'm fairly sure it's not the same version of Siegfried's Funeral March that is used in the film ... it ends differently without a small haunting repetition of the main melody that always makes me think of Excalibur not being lost forever, but will return one day. I should know because I've sat through the final credits many many times.
It comes directly from the original soundtrack. "no mention of Wagner in the title"?? Change your glasses and read again!
@@GillesNuytens I should have gone to Specsavers, sorry - and after listening to this one again I see the difference, it actually goes on longer than the one that's in the film - I guess that's the "Extended and remastered by Gilles Nuytens" part - the bit I was talking about wasn't right at the end like I'm used to hearing in the film , because now there's that additional 22 seconds after it.
@@jimsin101 No problem. Sorry, I've been a bit harsh in my comment.
@@GillesNuytens no that's fine - was my mistake :)

I played next to Anthony Munoz and he was the best ever. Before each game he would eat a big plate of refried beans and then shit on himself. His steaming logs would keep the defenders away and made him slippery.
