It's especially awesome because there's no outward sign of the change - no glowy lights, no sudden blossoming of health - it's just a man finding himself suddenly filled with purpose.
The detail of the land blossoming when Arthur rises again and rides to his destiny with his knights is amazing. Also Kay calling everyone to battle, man this movie is beautiful

In 1981, my first job was at a movie theater in a small town. The theater had just opened and Excalibur was the opening film. I saw this scene over a hundred times on a huge screen in Dolby Surround Sound. It still resonates. If you ever have a chance to see this film on a big screen, DO IT! It was on the R1 DVD director's commentary. Something about how only some cinemas had the stereo equipment? Or some other technical issue. I just wish they gave them a bigger budget to add to some of the battle scenes. Apparently the fog in the last battle was on purpose to cover parts of the battle. Boorman wanted a full battle shot with the red sun setting behind them during the battle.

I like the way the barren countryside returns to life as the king rides through it.
Excalibur, is just one of those films which despite its flaws just damn works out so well?!
its better than any rocky movie when all landscape flourish when someone comes with heart
So many life lessons in this movie to be learnt, so much knowledge and wisdom. Very deep film.
John Boorman´s "Excalibur" masterscene.
My favorite British movie.
