One thing i learned recently is don’t be so much in your head. And this is coming from an over thinker. Literally you thinking of the worst that can happen is you manifesting that, so always think positively! ❤
You hit the nail on the head with the "you are trying to put yourself down before someone gets a chance to" cause baby I do this a lot. It’s so difficult because when you’ve been picked apart for your weight, skin, hair etc. at a young age it sticks with you for a long time. You always think someone is going to criticize something about you because that’s what you were used to growing up. I’m very much traumatized unfortunately, but I’m working on it ❤️

The whole only/mainly following dark skins girls and not watching light skin vs dark skin definitely helped because I came across a page once and saw the severity of the comments and realised that black girls that don’t do that are really out here suffering

I learnt to be frugal, minimal on spending, saving and paying myself first through Investing, made Plans, growing passive income, Read a lot of books on finance, followed my plan consistently.
This is one of the better videos I’ve seen about confidence. For once I feel like I can soak up the information. I definitely had a problem with hating myself into things like working out and it was motivating. Now it’s a little more difficult to love myself into a workout.

Im been constantly struggling with my self esteem, love and confidence as a teenage dark girl. I have so many insecurities as in my teeth gap I literally avoid smiling for that reason. Toxic breakup, bad mental health annndnd man everything u covered in this was really helpful. I work at a Starbucks and i never had anything against anyone but man it’s super toxic in there, and they make me feel like I’m different. Especially when I dress up and look nice they try to intimidate me or put me down. I feel like what broke me was that toxic relationship and being abused what didn’t change was my strength 🎉. Girl I have a high calling and man I just been going through this battle but I’m not going to give up!

You make a really good point. I think a lot of people are tired of everyone doing the same thing and looking the same, but there are just so many people out there that it's hard to stand out and having something noticeable can be a good tool. There's always going to be someone who judges no matter what you do, so you might as well do what you want lol.

This video was solo relatable. I could've been speaking because I'm dark skin too and even as a kid, I knew my beauty was beautying even though society really tried it.
everything about this video is beautiful. colorism is very traumatic. to this day I still feel like I have bit of impostor syndrome/dysmorphia regarding physical appearance bc even to conventionally attractive ppl colorists are very vile for absolutely no reason .DS women constantly being picked apart in every way.the best thing is to really stick to people and environments that humanize us, see us and make us feel cherished & respected. that's really the only energy you need to be letting penetrate your psyche ;the one that doesn't stop reiterating that you're perfect. we're IT, always been❤️. This literally helped me so much. I’ve been in kind of a bad place because I look back at my life and realize how low my standards were, how low my self esteem was, I let certain things happen to me, how I could’ve had so much if I would’ve just kept going at what I wanted and even had the courage to ask for help when I needed it. I stayed in a shell my entire life, but I do want better for myself. I can’t change the past, but what matters the most is what I choose to do with right now. God bless you ❤
