      Even if you try to buy or rent the equipment it is expensive. Also dont trust any crew as they can cause blowouts if not stressed right.

      @@professionalchimp blow outs don't happen if stressed right nice try sounding like you know what your talking about... that's the last thing you would want to worry about... its all installation kid ... stressing isn't hard at all ... and it's not expensive at all its actually the opposite...

    How does a steel rod in tension make the concrete stronger ? Is that what it does?

    • @bobdillan2345
      @bobdillan2345 Před 2 měsíci

      When you stress the steel rod (rebar), you create a static compressive stress on every square inch of the concrete. That rebar adheres to the concrete and once you stretch the rebar, it wants to go back to its original length. So it's pulling the concrete together. This is good for the concrete when it experiences tension. For example, if you have a slab of prestress concrete and you support it on two sides, leaving the middle unsupported, and you press down on the middle, the middle is in compression and to the left and right of the center you are imposing a tension. However, because it is pretensioned, the tension that is imposed by the load has to be greater than that imposed by the rebar in order for the load to actually affect the concrete. You are effectively transferring the tension from the concrete to the steel and steel is really good in tension.

    I observe that it is not what they advertise it to be and it does not look like it adds the advertised strength unless the tendons are straight and the pouring of concrete does not deform its straight shape.
