I’m a US Navy Veteran, I served on the USS Paul F Foster DD964. My brother served on the USS New Jersey BB62 this song is perfect for the US Navy. When you have a Carrier Task Force sitting off your coast or a Battleship Task Force you know you opened up a case of whoop ass that may come your way. Thunderstruck is some 16in shells coming your way. Proud to have served our Nation in the US Navy.

My dad served in the Navy,I forgot what ship he was on at first but in the later years it was the Farragut. He was one helluva sailor and even though he's retired he still loves the Navy and what it stands for. God bless my dad an God bless you sir and God bless the US Navy.

@@Ahodges2022 Doesn't alter my comment in the slightest. The US signed up to the NATO treaty and each country supplies hardware etc based on their GDP. Just because the US would rather spend $trillions on the military instead of a health service or example, is nothing to brag about.

I was never around a battleship or 16 inch guns and can only imagine after hearing 5 inch guns fired. My father in law was rendered deaf by a 5 inch gun in WWII but his hearing came back and he went back to his ship. Loudest thing I have ever heard was either an F-4 in full burner or an AV-8. Wish we still had some active battle ships to park off Yemen. Thanks to all now serving, those who have, and those who will in the future. FLY NAVY!!!
Back in 95 I took my dad to EAA airshow. They had an AV-8B flying that day. Was so loud that my dad actually got sick for a few days.
When the Jersey fired on the gunnery range. You could feel it on a ship 1 mile away.
Also a bit more splash than a 5" 54 in the impact area. It moved a bit of real estate.
The best and worst 6 years of my life.

@@VincentDavito My nephew was on a Marine bird farm off Lebanon when a 8 inch shore battery tossed a few rounds at the Jersey. They succeeded in POing the Bosuns Mates. They had get into the paint locker again.
The Jersey moved some real estate around that day. I was in P'cola when that happened.
My last ship was the USS Crommelin.

We were getting ready to hit the beach in Beirut seeing they were setting up mortars to try and hit the Puget Sound when she was anchored out servicing a few destroyers when two marine cobras took off from the Pensacola and took out all of them in one scraping. All you saw was bastings and heard the guns, plus flying sand flying all over the place it was something to see. But, they sure left no stones unturned.
Later that night we heard one of the pilots asking, do you think we can make it back in time to get some lunch? Can't make this stuff up.

My Grandfather was in the Navy
I didn't realise that this song could get any better.. Then it got a Naval Escort.. Full battle group with frigates running picket duty and ASW helos.. This is the coolest thing that I have seen in a long time.. And that's from a person who lives in abtown with the community that built some of the greatest ships for the greatest naval power that ever sailed the 7 seas and my country supplied the voice that sang that song.. Yeah, I was a Navy Walrus and incredibly after Nam got attached to Inshore Undersea Warfare in Port Hueneme (I was a navigator and plotted where we dropped our listening devices). I had zero clue what a SEAL was until I was attached to this unit 1975 to 1977 and our CO was a Lieutenant SEAL, George Tomlinson, yes, ask Don Shipley
He took our unit to Coronado Island one summer and we saw all the Sea Lions, but ZERO dolphins.

As a Squid of over 2 decades of service, our Puddle Pirates rock. When i worked with them they were fearless. That was 20 years ago, and recently I saw a new video of one jumping on smuggling sub to open the hatch preventing their escape. AWESOME! I salute our Baby Navy Coastal Crustaceans.
