  • The complete guide to replacing rear coil springs in a Volkswagen Passat, Jetta, Golf, and lots of other models. This How To guide will show you everything you need to know to safety and easily replace your Volkswagen Rear Coil Springs at home. Broken coil springs is an extremely common VW failure, but it's not a difficult fix. I'm specifically replacing the rear springs on my 2006 VR6 4-Motion Passat, but the suspension setups are extremely similar for most modern Volkswagens.

Following replacement, the rear ride height seems to be a few centimetres more than it was previously. Is this normal? In time, will the rear ride height go back to how it was on the old springs that were replaced? Many thanks in advance.
