TALK SERIES | Dot, Circle, Frame With John Kean

As part of our mission to engage the broadest audiences with Australian First Nations art and culture, we recently welcomed author and curator, John Kean as special guest speaker for our latest Talk Series in Melbourne.
It was a rainy, winter's day, but John drew a crowd who listened to him in speak about the seminal works in Part I of our exhibition SIGNIFICANT 2023 - including one of the most important painting discoveries of this century - Mikantji and Tywerl 1971 by Kaapa Mbitjana Tjampitjinpa - that represent the beginnings of the desert art movement, and his new book, Dot, Circle, Frame.
