Dude great review! In depth and good examples of explaining how roasts and temps work as well as PID!
Thanks for the support 👍
It can be used in a commercial setting just not for big cafes. I have been using it for my small cafe. Its all good so far. Though temperature fluctuates after about 10 shots back to back lol
I've been using this for 2 years too and recently adjusted the OPV to 9 bar and use it to selling some coffee at home and popup store. Working great in my opinion
Yeah its doable. But was it okay when you pull more than 10 shots back to back? I felt it lack a little with its consistency after 4 or 5 shots back to back
@@hisbrewcoffee so far 10 shots back to back is still okay for me, maybe my workflow is slower on puck prep and milk steaming which allows the temp to get back to the temp set😅 tried to back to back 20 shots for only espresso but I forgot after how many shots in between there will be slightly temp drop until 87-89c which will need to wait awhile to get back to temp set. For milk steaming side the steam pressure gets weaker if back to back steaming for like 3 jugs of 200ml? But overall for this price there is no doubt it is very value for money and maybe wins alot of machine in this price range🤣
Hi Leon may I ask how you adjusted the OPV?
@@davidkawasaki4095 I bought my machine from JCoffee so I just send back to them for OPV adjustment cause I'm not dare to open the machine and DIY
Hi help how did you adjust to 9 bar it's what I want to do too please help there's no instructions anywhere
Very good explanation on this coffee machine 🎉😊
Thank you so much 🙂
This would be perfect and the rest of the line up if theres a volumetric/timed dosing
what a great review looking forward for a review of gemilai crm 3145 classic next❤
Haha looking to get our hands on one of them for a review
@@hisbrewcoffee great looking forward to it nicee
love the review, however would appreciate if you can do more demo as you are explaining and maybe use it to pull a shot
Nice review!! I am planning on buying this machine but apparently Gemilai has recently released the CRM3145 with an E61 group head and temp control steam wand.. would you be able to tell which one is better based in their specs? They priced reasonably close to each other but crm3145 is a bit more aesthetically pleasing..😅
Hey Adjyoco, yeah I just saw the new release too. Seems pretty promising but we haven't had a chance to test it out so can't say much. I would say if the price is similar, maybe can consider from initial look at the CRM3145, but we definitely can't give a strong opinion since we haven't had it.
Can you compare EM-23 vs EM-20?
I am interesting EM20 because It has lower price.
may i know your comments on the EM30 mini?
hello, if you would choose between milesto em23 vs gemilai 3200d hwat machine would do more in a small cafe? thanks for helping
Hi there definitely the emilai 3200d. It's way more robust, it has a plump in water, and the steam pressure is way better than the em23. The em23 is definitely just for home use and maybe on occasional event pop up
Halo! dimana 9 bar pada pengukur tekanan ini????
Are you able to adjust the volume of water for dialing in?
Nope this is not a volumetric machine
I have one of these as well. I’m US based and it works just fine on US 230v. I’m unsure if they ship with a 60Hz EP4 pump to all locales but that’s what they sent me. It died after about a year and I ended up relaxing it with an EP5 pump. The shots improved as the pressure curve is closer to 9 bars by default.
Overall I really like the machine. At some point I’m going to add a rheostat for the pump so I can pressure profile it.
One note, the “saturated” group head really isn’t saturated. If you open the top cover you’ll find two PTC heating components. This is actually better in my opinion because the group head heats as fast as it can rather than slowing the heating of the boiler or being dependent on the temperature of the boiler.
The PTC acts as almost a double boiler system I guess. Glad to see you using it too even though from the states. Did you purchased it locally or from Ali Express?
Excuse me, the espresso machine mentions that it works at 220v. Can the machine work at 110 V US region?
@@hisbrewcoffee From Ali Express
@@DanBrianPalacios It won't work on 110v. I ran a 230v circuit to my kitchen. Remember that the US is split phase so we have 110v (really 115v nominal) power for low power appliances and 230v for things like ovens, air conditioners, car charging, clothing driers, etc. The rules for 20A circuits are the same for both phases so you can even convert one line to the other by changing the outlets and how the circuit breaker is wired. Any electrician can handle this. I was remodeling and added an additional dedicated 230v 20A and 110v 20A line.
thank you! how long does it take to machine to heat up to right temp/195?
Really quick about 10min
@@hisbrewcoffee so I'm kind of torn between legato and itop x20
Which one would you go with?
What do you think about the Em-19m3 vs the gemilai 3018?
We haven't tasted out 3018 so can't comment much on it
I purchased this machine on your recommendation please do another video on how to adjust the bru pressure to 9 bar or lower its set above 10bar
There should be a screw gauge when you take out the drip tray. You should be able to adjust the pressure from there
@@hisbrewcoffeehey 👋 there's 2 brass nuts with holes in center just tested now 1 after switching machine on for say 3 mins back flushes releases water other brass nut back flushes ones you make espresso coffee
How do you read the pressure gauge of this machine?
Haha that is the bad thing. You can't, as it only indicates espresso range or not. In terms of psi or bars it's lacking. But I've seen ppl changing their pressure gauge before
@@hisbrewcoffee thanks for your reply. Do you think it is possible to adjust the OPV to 9bars max? Or do you think it doesn’t matter much for this machine?
Espresso pulls from a 3605 was so much better after adjusting the OPV from 15 bars to 9bars.
Excuse me, the espresso machine mentions that it works at 220v. Can the machine work at 110 V US region?
Don't think so I think it only works on 220v unless the manufacturer has configured it.
Which is better the Milesto X20 Aurora or this?
it looks like the x20 Aurora is an upgrade version of the milesto em23. Base on the specs they look pretty similar. It might be they beef up the internal parts of the machine.
@@hisbrewcoffee thanks. They added hot water but the lessen the boiler capacity and i dont know if it still a saturated grouphead. And if its a new version of em23 i dont know why it is much cheaper.
Interesting. We can't speak for the x20 as we have not tested it. Boiler capacity is important especially in thermal stability and also milk steaming back to back
Cacingan ke?
Hmm, what about the quality ? Do you think it will last? let's be honest they are the new kid on the block where some italien companies are 120 years old
Yeah I don't think it can compare with say a la marzocco. But for the price, and if your comparison is breville, I think this is better.
lit and has far fewer problems@@hisbrewcoffee The importer in Indonesia stopped selling this Brand because of many problems
.He selling Lelit successfully and has much fewer problems. I know the Chinese are clever and like to conquer every corner of the market, however, a legacy of over 100 years of making Espresso machines in Italy cannot be archived in a few years by copies. Such things take time, experience and a long history.
Totally agree. We had the lelit too and really love them. But when comparing the lelit with other Italian brand like the ECM, the finishing of the lelit is not as polished or refine.
But overall if you are looking for something that can last a long time and easily replaceable, definitely an Italian brand.
@@hisbrewcoffee Yes agree with the finishing However as the selling price is very good they have to cut the corner but they did not cut corners on the technical side. The finishing could be better but then you pay much more example Profitect or similar. That does not mean they produce better Espresso and that is the bottom line. I consider buying Lelit Elisabet because it's easier to make an Espresso than with E 61 machines only alternative would be Bezzera BZ 16 because their system with the preheated brewing Head has better Temperature control and is more stable.
