I love James Marsters! He's so hilarious and just a great guy ;) Spike was my favorite characters on Buffy, absolutely loved this interview ;)

James Marsters AKA Spike!
He was the young one compared to Angel and Darla, not Drusilla. Drusilla had only been a vampire for 20 years longer than Spike, and I think they might very well be of the same age, or even knew each other before. Darla was made a vampire around 1609 in Virginia, so she was probably born in England, so she was 150 vampire years older than Angel when she made him in the 1750s in Ireland. Drusilla was a young girl still living with her family in London, in 1860, so she had to be under 20. Spike, also in London, in 1880, was supposed to be over 30, not that old for an unmarried man. Unless he was meant to be in his 20s and therefore so immature, that was definitely shattered with that 7th season episode, where we see him really being a Mama's boy, not just someone who cares if his mother is worried if he, as an adult, comes home late; but rather someone who even his mother thinks is too old to be acting that way and should grow up and be a man. So he had to be over 30, I think. So 20 years earlier, he had to be between 12 and 15 and probably heard of what happened to Drusilla's entire family. Granted, Drusilla is never mistaken as a teenage girl, but she never acts like that either, and given how old the actors are... Darla was accepted as a high school girl, by a parent and another high school student, and as a human was a whore living alone it seemed, but on Angel, one mother of a kid thought she was the mother of another 6 year old. Anyway, even if Dru and Spike are never described as having an age difference in their LOOKS, I think Dru, if she wasn't 15 at the time it happened, could only be 5-7 years older than Spike.

But that was still something what I wondered about and noticed. Angel... well he is such a bland and almost bad actor compared to Spike at least, but also the way he was written... With Spike you got a feeling that he was older, that he was an immortal being, and others, like Giles, Riley or that bloody Watcher's Council who couldn't even support their one reason for existing, reacted that way. With Angel... no, he was such an immature child. He is jealous that another vampire has a soul and he is no longer special. Even though he sees it as punishment, then he gets angry at Spike because he wanted it and he didn't, as if he thinks he Angel didn't deserve punishment? Also the way he treated Spike and later soulless and chipless Harmony trying to be good. I'm trying to find a review site that mentions that maybe Harmony was right, if Angel had had trust in her, that would be her soul and she would not have betrayed them. Angel just seems pissed that there are vampires who can turn good without a soul, like Spike when he fought for his, or in Harmony's case, even without a leash and soul, which clashes with his view. Sure, everyone of them killed people, but he likes to think it is all the vampire stuff, not maybe the fact that some were better people as humans before. That site had a lot of interesting discussions, anyone knows one that does all Buffy and Angel reviews?

Is it true that James only hits on the really young girls at conventions? I feel so old at 25.
I'm really not sure if that's true. I mean he is happily married now, but his wife is significantly younger than him. But it doesn't really matter because love is love, and he really loves her. So he doesn't really hit on anyone anymore.

39:25 this question and he answers all the seasons of Spike 😅 you know this is really really weird, they didn’t know what to with him but they couldn’t kill him bc the character was too awesome and it turned into something very very interesting. And funny thing is that so many ppl including me watched the show just for Spike 🤍 life’s weird way to do things I guess, you never know
