- Let's assemble the HEMLINGBY 2-seat sofa from Ikea and do a quick review. it's not available in all markets, but it sells for about US$115 in Hong Kong.
Hey! January 2024 in Tokyo here... just bought and put one together. So thankful for this video. Mine didn't come with instructions so this video helped significantly. Looks alright, my kid thinks it's too "bouncy" haha! Fine with me. Hope yours is still holding together. I have no expectations to keep this for 10 years, but that said, my previous IKEA cheapo sofa held together for over 12 years. Thanks again!!!
Glad I could help! We had it in my office for about 3 years, but sold it off when we moved last year. It held up fine no problem (although since it was in the office, no one was jumping on it...) My Friheten's held up very well though (i liked the first one so much, I bought the same one again when we moved to Japan).

Hi, just wanted to ask is it comfortable? specially for longer periods of time?
yeah its ok for sitting. i've taken naps on it, but its too short to make that comfortable.

So far completely no problem (other than it being too short to lie down on). I still took a nap on it the other day....
I don't have people in for meetings sitting on it every day, but no problems, no signs of wear, nothing coming loose.
Hi Clueless Dad, what about its quality. Does it feel durable? Is it possible to stand on it? Does it look like it will last?
Its decent quality, pretty no frills though, not as fancy as the bigger sofas like the Friheten, etc.
I just stood on it. no problem there. :-P

sorry for my late reply. we ended up selling it a few months ago. But it was still in perfect condition after ~2 years. (of light usage). no complaints for sure.
Any update on this now? How was the fabric?

I used this in my office for about 2.5 years, no problems at all. We sold it when we moved out.
It's totally fine for sitting. The biggest complaint I had was that its too short to sleep on for an adult. I took a few naps with my feet hanging off the end onto the seat of my desk chair... not ideal.
Not a good product I'm telling you. We used it for only 2 months, and already broken not comfortable at all. The armrest is weak and the framing has poor quality. Not recommending this product.
