This Interview interpreted by Robert Grey.
Shot in Los Angeles, October 2012
excellent interpreter! almost perfect. it's so rare to hear interviews lead in two languages without having to cringe when hearing the translations.
Somebody subtitle it please
I have a huge respect for interpreters.
I just saw this film, and it was so beautifully done. So moving. Thank you.
Best... translator... ever...
TheTygr83 yes, holy shit. He was on point.
I think this camera guy discovered zoom lens for the first time and couldn't believe what it could do, so he could't help but playing with it. Somehow he got me sic. So if you would excuse me, I'm gonna have to leave you now, I have go throw out.
lol
these interviews of yours are really, really great. so far all of them that i've seen.
+ the translator truly is the boss.
++ und so is mr. haneke
I love his long takes. Boss.
I don't get it. Someone has the golden opportunity to interview Michael Haneke, and asks him about caring to explain his style to non believers, and frivolous topics on what he talks with other people. That's shallow.
saw this film at cannes, absolutely loved it
Great video! I loved it. Haneke is fast becoming one of my favorite directors. I enjoyed this very much.
That translator is the boss
Shortest version with subtitles would be something.
*shorter
Thanks for providing this informative insight!
4:05 another trademark answer goes to my list.
Michael Haneke clicked in this video..OMG !! :O
He so neat and discipline.
First sentence, austrian accent: Is er ned im Büd?
Ist er nicht im Bild?
Isn't he on the screen?
He translates german into english better than the other way, but yes, he's very good.
I admire Mr Haneke more for putting up with such a poor Interview.
Watch the one from this channel for The White Ribbon. It's worse.
@@Divine_Dreamer_vaporwave imossible
He's one of the modern masters. I personally think he's one of the greatest filmmakers of all time - and I'm simply stating that on the basis of "Cache'" and "The White Ribbon". "Amour" looks excellent! Didn't like "Funny Games" though.
How difficult is to use subtitles?
I feel like the interview lacked depth. Like the interviewer never really went into examples of his movies. It must be hard because every question has to be interpreted. I think having a better understanding of the director would have made for a better interview.
I like how Haneke is looking at the translator to ensure that whatever he is translating is exactly what he said! Lol Haneke is perfectly fluent in English!!. Awesome! Guys a legend
Of course they are not, but they still have the right to criticize, on ideological grounds, what they choose not to consume - in this case, American films.
wtf are these questions?
Why i´snt the interview about the movie? The guy asking the questions is wasting he´s time, and Michael´s time, and everyone´s time! Thats why you have to study a journalist degree for four years!!! He asks the must stupid questions, and there arent a lot of interviews with Haneke!! Im so mad!!
FUUUUUUUCK
Difficult if you're trying interview someone and neither of you know a language in common.
What a stupid way of formatting an interview.
Just edit the translator out and subtitle his answers. Simple!
How so is he aggressive?
Horrific interview, terrible questions, zero insight.
The translator might be the boss so the interviewer is astonishingly mediocre.
He criticizes American films, but he is Austrian and a part of Austrian culture. Austrians are not forced to watch American films.
