I bought this album and listened to it while reading the silmarillion
*Lore intensifies*
The Silmarillion is a tough read. I'd like to slowly read it while constructing a family tree of the characters for a visual reference.
@@varcol8375 in the 2nd edition Christopher Tolkien (RIP) provided a character tree.
Wow, that's is aesthetic, man!!!
@@hellinterface6721 So... What are the best Character Trees I can use for reading The Silmarillion? I'll be reading it soon enough for the first time.
The party gon' be real anxious when this starts playing in an empty room
~After perception check~
"The room is empty... as far as you can tell.."
I'm using it for that as well.
@@happy_camper That's how it was....then 4 darkmantles and an ooze out of nowhere. TPK almost!
@@liamdaquila1979 No hero's story is complete without sacrifice.

If the feeling of remembering people and places long lost to time had a soundtrack
You feel it dont you...
great comment
This is more or less how I feel when I listen to Dungeon Synth.
Yes. It's so soothing, yet haunting....
they have ten albums on bandcamp
I played this just before going to sleep, and I kept falling into these mini dreams and I got awake couple of times just to fall asleep again....but the best part is that in every dream, the music was still playing in the background as some sort of a soundtrack, and when I finally woke up I felt like I was dreaming for a whole day, or even ages, and realised that the music is still going...I checked the phone and saw that the final track of the album had just begun....
Truly great experience...
I know this feeling man. Awesome music!
I experienced something similar. Fantastic music for relaxing into sleep/dreams.
Same happens to me but I’ve been listening to dungeon synth for so long it has stopped :(
bro you weren't asleep you were just still awake
The beautiful side of sleep paralysis
This is still the best dungeon synth album I've ever listened to. It feels massive, mysterious, and ancient. It whisks you away to another world.
they have ten albums on bandcamp
It’s really good.
It’s a 10/10
When I listen to this, I feel like I'm in the world of Elden Ring and the Souls Games
@@sirmount2636 winter is excellent for true whites, go away
Swords of Saxonland is amazing
This album is something else entirely. It flows like a hazy fever dream of old legends, unfinished dnd campaigns and that 80s fantasy movie that you haven't seen in 20 years and don't remember the name of. It's both subtle in the background and demands attention. unknowable music
damn this is actually a talentedly (?) written comment for a change. pleasently surprised.
something very evocative about unfinished dnd campaigns. lost legends, unfulfilled destiny.
You had me at 'hazy fever dream'! This video is the best..
this is 100% what i mean / think of when i think of Dungeon Synth. i know different people have slightly different interpretations but to me it usually needs this heavy, lost feeling to it.
5:03 still one of the most beautiful and powerful dungeon synth riffs I've ever listened to. I come back to this album again and again.
why do you call it riffs? This ain't metal, and he is not playing guitar...
@@iamturok3504 riffs aren't exclusive to guitar
@@noodledood12 they are not?
@@iamturok3504 from my understanding, riffs can refer to any genre. its just a short piece of music that gets repeated throughout a song. i looked it up and the dictionary describes it as:
"a short repeated phrase in popular music and jazz, typically used as an introduction or refrain in a song."
@@noodledood12 Yeah, I got something similar on Wikipedia, but the thing is, it was a term that a jazz guy made up for a guitar. Now, you might still be right, anyway. But I rarely hear that word outside of guitar, specially out of rock and metal.
This is downright spiritual
Found this a year ago. Still my favourite. So lonely, so deep, so significant...
This could easily be the best dungeon synth release i heard ever.
along with his other album, Ambient I
It is quite amazing.
After listening to several dozens of them I have to agree. Something, maybe the constant reverb gives both a calming and eerie sensation at the same time
Yes it is
This is my favourite album of all time. I can't even describe the dreams, thoughts and feelings I have while listening to this...
This is the most professional dungeon synth I have heard to date. Not that others aren't near it's level - they are - but this is the apex it seems. It sounds like it should be the soundtrack to some epic and popular fantasy.
they have ten albums on bandcamp
I like Aindulmedir also. Try that one. This one is really great for sure.
@@vonjunzt4130 Aindulmedir is amazing
Imagine this being arranged for an orchestra. That'd be insane.
this album is now the soundtrack for my elden ring playthrough, and it has made the game 100 times better
There's something dark and mysterious in this album that I haven't heard in other dungeon synth records.
I would truly love to hear your opinion of Aindulmedir then! He was my go-to dungeon synth particularly because of the cold, timeless and etherial quality of the music that so many other artists are not able to achieve.
@@borna1231 I dig it, I've listened to The Lunar Lexicon a ton. He describes his music as "Winter music for bibliophiles and hermits" that's why it's cold :)
@@AleksSlota Ah, nice to ehar you already know about him :). Yeah, I figured anyone who likes Vinkaldr would find Aindulmedir good as well.
Haha, yep, "winter music for bibliophiles" pretty much sounds like my perfect genre😄.
Check out his latest if you heavnt already, "Star Lore". A masterpiece.
I sit upon my wooden chair, old and creaky, while the faint glow of crystal resides on a dusty, cracked table, long past it's prime. It whispers quietly, strange and fantastical things, so I must sit, and discover what it speaks. I must ponder my orb.
I cannot express my love for that album art
It's an actual medieval illustration
Amazing that such things have come down to us, really...
It's a representation of King David by André Beauneveu, wich is from the Psalter of Jean de Berry, brother of Charles V.
Keep coming back to this one.
Swords of Saxonland is something majestic. The album as a whole has immense power.
Dungeon Synth: the perfect blend of traditional, mystic and contemplative music with electric sounds that are really familiar and close to our modern ears
they have ten albums on bandcamp
"Dreamy" is my best word to describe this. Somehow it makes me feel I'm in the huge crypt of that ancient king in the cover art
maybe your bipolar
@@mikelisteral7863maybe you're spiritually dead
Through action,a man becomes a hero.
Through death,a hero becomes a legend.
Through time,a legend becomes a Myth.
And by learning from the Myth,a man takes action.
Probably one of the best Dungeon Synth albums ever.
Why is this so good? Im listening to dungeon synth on a near daily basis while writing stuff for my ttrpg campaign as a gm and this blows nearly everything out of the dungeon.
This albums ambience is special, it sounds HUGE.
This is the BEST dungeon synth ever! Period!
Vindkaldr is the best
Kinda shit
playing daggerfall and listening to this album is so epic
The kingdom is destroyed, in ruins, the romance is gone, the people are dead, and the winter frost bites the land.
Good.
The romans are gone indeed. The gods shall rise once again!
And a dead dog bites my hand 😂
Wow. This is like one of those DS albums that manages to transcend the genre and in the process bring the whole style up with it. It reminds me a lot of Almofar, but somehow even better.
¡Que gran suerte que existe You Tube para tener acceso a toda la música!!!!! ¡Mi gran compañera!
Larga vida al Internet, larga vida a CZcams, larga vida a la Música.
And at the very end of everything I saw him. A white room deep in the earth. And the white king on his golden throne, forever still in time.
'In solitude until the end of time' is a beautiful track. Has a Phillip Glass feel to it.
Brought me to tears hugging my girlfriend after a day of work as this was playing in the background. I'm so lucky. :'c
Epic! I am on the battlefield with Constantine, or crossing the alps with Hannibal, or exploring the arctic realms in a storm-tossed schooner ....
I must have listened to this album hundreds of times. Often, it stays on loop. It is an incredible piece of work, and I am so grateful I found it.
One of the most beautiful dungeon synth albums I've heard.
How can this be SO good?
This album is simply a masterpiece. The dreamer is still awake, and sleeps until the story is finished. The mirror feeds back upon itself...all reflections are equally alive, and flourishing in good health.
This album is so enchanting. I can put it on and nothing else exists. It's beautiful.
me gusta la pintura, la imagen de un rey mago
This makes me feel like I'm wandering the wilderness in Skyrim again
I'm in love with this album...

I don't know why I didn't get into Dungeon Synth sooner, with stuff like this around. Perfect for studying and winding down.
Mystical energy through this powerfull songs. Greetings from Colombia.
this album feels like structures of light
This music plays in the background whenever the prince figures out that since now... he is the king and no one else will shield him and the kingdom.
Vindkaldr is exactly what comes to mind when I need Dungeon Synth 🙌🏻
I’ve listened to a lot of DS albums but I always come back to Enchantments of Old Lore. It’s melancholic yet beautiful.
Listening to this while writing a fantasy plot, I feel so inspired.
same but a cyberpunk novel
Same but a TTRPG book.
Just now learning about dungeon synth and this shit is rad as hell
'SIlver Halls in Dark Lands' has been on repeat for a couple of days now. I was reading LOTR when I discovered this album, and this particular track really suited the book so well. It truly is a perfect soundtrack to Lothlorien, as I pictured it in my mind. Hats off!
This is deeper than LOTR and more fantasy

Awesome work. A mixture of Dungeon Synth with New Age. 10/10.
A house on the outskirts of town whispers, and as you approach it, others descend on the path to its door. As they move forward, strangers become eerily united as the music gives them the key to peace and they begin to flock together to this house that was once just a rumor. Now they live on the outskirts of town never to return 👑
This is psychidelic, about the heart, it's very human and like blues turned art in the night🌙
Music for the woodland journey.
Very sprawling and mystical. Good stuff!
This album brings me back to 1518 when I was King of England as Henry VIII. Yeah, I am exactly like him. Wtf
Well he tried I guess...
Golden Reaching Roots. Makes me think of the Erdtree. I love how Elden Ring is so steeped in fantasy tropes that things that existed before it feel like Elden Ring =)
elden ring just feels like vindkaldr
1:13:24 is the best track by far. Perfect backing music when reading old forgotten Latin tomes.
one of my favorite albums of the genre. So epic!
feels like i'm in a dream, love it.
In 2018 i start to play “Dark Souls 2” and this was my soundtrack in all my first row , it was epic , now i am so gratefull for this unique piece, it let me to discover a new world (fromsoftware adiction) , thank you so much.
I’m about 1/2 way through the dark souls 2 and I’ve been listening to this almost the whole time. I completed dark souls remastered, bloodborne, and dark souls 3 with other sounds, but this is perfect!
In Belfry Tower totally made me think of the Belfry Tower in DS2
Dreamy and uplifting, I'm really liking this!
Very relaxing, nostalgic and beautiful.
Wow! Awesome álbum! The second track makes me travel to another realm! Salutes from Brazil!
My god this album is so powerful ! It competes directly with the transcendence that can give me an organ !
This makes me think of a save room theme.
This feels huge
that's what she said

liked and subbed, just got hip to this wave. super dig the vibes!
This was in my recommended tab and now I think I have a new favorite genre
I love this one...Thank you...I'm going to pick this album up
Fantastic. .great music...thanks
Listening to this makes me feel like I've found something I'm not supposed to but that I should still explore further.
Это прекрасно. That's fine. Thanks to the author. This music gives me hope that this world has not disappeared.
Мне нравится засыпать под эти мелодии.
This world inside the music will never disappear.

God, I am on my knees. This is so intense. It's the soundtrack I've been waiting for my whole life.
lmao touch grass
WONDERFUL...Awesome...Magnificent.....Excelent....
Massive mood, this is an incredibly well done album
First time listening to this...and this is just what I needed. Easier to concentrate into work now.
Jetzt erst entdeckt. Sehr mystisches und zugleich düsteres, schönes Album. 🖤🔥👌
this was the first album i stumbled upon from this channel. talk about chasing the dragon, i haven't heard another album of this genre that's better than this one. Its genuinely good front to back.
its still pound for pound the best dungeon synth album. i love this genre and have explored many albums. this one just captures the essence of the movement.
Man we are in exactly the same boat.
yup, nothin has changed. listened to this while playing dark souls 3. Still An amazing album.
@@303Smilezzz Dude, this combined with Ds3 is opium for the soul. I literally spent all day doing just that. Totally agree, simply the best.

Surely one of the best out there
I love this, I've been using this as background music for my dnd dungeon crawl music, very engaging
Brilliant. Perfect mix of fantasy and horror.
This is so badass. Thank you.
I put this every few days as background music for my regular day at the puter. It is so hauntingly good and mysterious!
I have no words really, this is just wow.
Swords of Saxonland. Yes.
Deception under moon shadow was my favourite. Awesome album.
It sounds like the music that would play not when you enter the chamber of the final boss, but the cave of the wisest man in the land. Intimidating, overpowering, but not menacing. You've survived an epic journey where most of your party was slaughtered. Now it's just you and him, and you may ask him any question you wish, and he will answer it truthfully. Make it good.
I was listening to the opening track Golden Reaching Roots and this is the image that came to me. Dawn breaking through a forrested mountain shrouded in fog.
Will be on Bandcamp to get this, wOw, excellect for hours in Ps/Lr 🎧👍
this is impossibly, immeasurably good
Beautiful artwork
If Vindkaldr decided to release a sequel to this album of it just played backwards im pretty sure everyone would still be on board xD
There are two other Dungeon Synth albums by Vindkaldr, Ambient I is the same kind of vibe as this album (but better imo) and Miscreantic Mysteries which is darker, but still very good
Pure brilliance.
First track reminds me of "Necrose evangelicum" by Brighter Death Now. I loved it!
excellent stuff!
