Handling of the remote controller unit for your Mitsubishi A/C
• The range that the signal can reach is about 6 m when the remote controller is pointed at the front of the indoor unit.
• When a button is pressed, one or two beeps will be heard from the indoor unit. If no sound is heard, operate again.
• Use the remote controller carefully. If it is dropped, thrown or it gets wet, the remote controller may not operate.
When installing the remote controller on a wall, etc.
• Install the remote controller holder in a position where the signal reception sound (beep) can be heard from the indoor unit when the ON/OFF button is pressed.
How to set the batteries and the current time in the Mitsubishi remote control device for your air conditioning system:
1- Remove the front lid and insert batteries, then reattach the front lid. Insert the minus pole of the batteries first. Check if the polarity of the batteries is correct.
2- Press the RESET button. If the RESET button is not pressed, the remote controller may not operate correctly.
3- Press the CLOCK set button.
4- Press the HR. and MIN. buttons (TIME SET buttons) to set the current time. Each time the HR button is pressed, the set time
increases by 1 hour, and each time the MIN button is pressed, the set time increases by 1 minute.
5- Press the CLOCK set button again and close the front lid.
When the remote controller cannot be used (emergency operation)
When the batteries of the remote controller run out or the remote controller malfunctions, the emergency operation can be done using the EMERGENCY OPERATION switch.
Press the EMERGENCY OPERATION switch.
• Each time the EMERGENCY OPERATION switch is pressed, the unit will operate in order of EMERGENCY COOL MODE, EMERGENCY HEAT MODE and STOP MODE. However, when the EMERGENCY OPERATION switch is once pressed, the unit will operate in test run for 30 minutes and then the operation mode shifts to EMERGENCY MODE.
To stop the emergency operation, press the EMERGENCY OPERATION switch once (in case of EMERGENCY HEAT MODE) or twice (in case of EMERGENCY COOL MODE).

Remote aside, I did not expect to find such a high quality video for this remote!
Thank you! We moved into a new house and couldn't find the operating manuals, this was perfect
After you change the battery, you need to reset the clock. To do this, there are two tiny black buttons next to the battery icon. Use a thin stick (almost the size of a big needle) to press the reset button. Then use the stick to press the clock button. Adjust the time by pressing on the time buttons. On mine there is a time button with an arrow pointing to the right and another one with an arrow pointing to the left. These buttons will increase or decrease the time on the clock. When the right time is set, press the clock button again with the thin stick. The clock panel will stop flashing indicating the clock is set. It took me a long time to figure all this out. Enjoy.
Roderick Tang thx
Thanks couldn’t find this anywhere
Thanks! don’t know why they didn’t include this in the vid?
THANKS
Setting the clock was the only reason I was watching these videos. Thank you so much!
I’ve had this thing for over a year now and just found out it has a heater and dehumidifier. Wow. Thanks so much this is a life changer for me and my girl!
I had issue getting the ac to come on. Several other commentors have same problem. The fix is 2 fold. First, yes choose the snowflake icon or the second symbol that comes up in the first column on the remote display. Second, and most important, if you have more than one Mitsubishi unit in your home, multiple units in multiple rooms, these units all talk to each other so all the remotes have to be on the same setting. Can’t have one remote set to heat and another set to ac. Sync them all up on ac mode and the ac should work.
Just wanted to let you know you're an absolute hero for this comment. Seriously. Thank you so much.
Just tried it and it worked. I owe you a beer.
I owe you a million bucks. There's 2 units in the small house I'm staying in for the weekend. I for the life of me could not figure out how to get the AC to cut on until I finally came across your comment. Thank you! Now I can sleep with some cool air flow!
A thousand thanks ❤
just did this and it works! thank you so much.
The interface was designed by mental patients.
You might be right.
I’d say it’s quite possible
Just installed a mini split in my garage/mancave this weekend, I'm sitting here looking at this remote in my hand wondering who the heck designed this thing. Everything is backwards
Lol.
Bing bong
Thanks for this video, it clearly explains all the options on this absolutely obtuse interface
Thanks so much! Just moved into a new apartment with three of these and absolutely no instructions from the super. Thanks to you, I'll be able to keep cool without running my bill up 😅
I agree, the interface was designed by mental patients. The "snowflake" icon resembles a ring of barbed wire, not any snowflake that I know off. There is an additional whirlygig icon, not covered by this video. I guess this icon means connect to tumble drier, who knows!
so true
@@FloatsOnSatellites Yes horrible graphics. Who dreamed them up ?
Thank you so much. Was installed three days ago and guys tossed the owner's manual. So now I can turn the unit off. Other day it was 74 in here in winter. depressed too warm button down and the AC kicked on--no way Jose. Now will just turn the unit off if we ever get sunshine in KY this week. Love it.
most frustrating unit of all time, at its super expensive price. so many problems. starting with the super dumb remote. not blaming the video here; it actually helped.
Thank you so much, a child touched all the buttons and I didn't know how to set it...
I been pressing the SUN mode for when its HOT, and cranking the heater. Blooooooody spewin. Thanks for video
akz SYD I l have been doing the same! 😅
Omg dumb
I did the same. Made sense to me...sun = hot right? I finally figured out how to get cool to come on. I shut all 3 units off then turn on #1. Not immediate gratification but within10 minutes it’s cooling. Then I turn on #2 and wait for it...yup. #3 just walk away and forget it . You might be waiting awhile
Cindy Z Sun = Hot = Heat = Die
I agree. The sun symbol does not obviously symbolise heating - something like a log fire with flames makes more sense to me.
Thank you so much for the simple instruction video! Much needed, was using the system wrong.
Great explanation. The hotel I'm staying at has a wall unit with those silly controls
My unit made a potent odor before finding your video. Thank you so much!!!!!!
Direct and clear explanation. Thank you very much!
great video!!!! summer is coming and mu family and i were struggling a lil bit to understand the settings. this is a very simple video that explains the remote controls so perfectly! thaaaanks!
Thanks for the vid, this remote is NOT intuitive!
Great video. The remote is very functional. I am going try the pre-set feature. Thanks.
Thank you for this, such an easy video to follow. Hope your company is doing well wherever you are located
covid probably put them out of business
I needed this video. Thank you
This is the worst remote I’ve ever used in my life. Useless.... just useless
The fact that none of Mitsubishi's remotes include a basic light to read the display at night is bonkers. Keep these units out of your bedrooms unless you want to wake your spouse every time you turn on the bedroom light to adjust the air conditioner.
Yea all I need is a "cool for 15mins" button. Try and do that in the dark.
Yes its the absolute worse. Turn on the lights to use the remote. Weird
This video absolutely slaps.
Thanks for showing what the fan button is for. Like we wouldn't figure that out for ourselves. What we need, it how to switch from dumb F to Celsius.
Thanks, this was helpful
Thank you! Very helpful
very useful instructions.... i had issues with the clock flashing.... just got to know i have to reset and set it properly
Love how I’ve pressed every button and nothing works lol
Thanks for that
omg, you dont explain in the FAN mode what is the meaning of icon of the dude holding his ear?!?
Is there any option to light up the display, it is really hard to operate during nights
why would there be? these machines only cost thousands of dollars, why would you expect such an incredibly basic convenience out of their control interface?
GREAT EXPLANATION
Great video. Wish I had found it sooner.
CHANGING TEMPERATURE UNITS AS PER THE MANUAL. REMOTE TYPE: KM09E.
Press RESET while the temperature buttons are pressed (both down and up arrows)
thanks mate big help .
Thank you!
thank you
cool setting
You say the vane can be locked at a particular angle. Do you know how? We would love to lock it at the down angle.
THANK YOU!!!
1) switch it on in the dark
2) start sweating because it's on the wrong mode
3) try to light up the display with your phone to find the cool mode
4) try to go back to sleep but instead wait till the room is cool
5) switch off Aircon and go back to sleep
@@danriver12345 I think these 3rd party control systems like advantageair in Australia found that gap in the market. Just because these Aircon manufacturers can't design proper remotes.
Thank you.
Best video abt this!
Can any body tell me how to remove the timer
My compressor works for 20 mints and then stops for 20 min and then starts
Hi ..I change my remote battery but i want know how i change Fahrenheit to Celsius please show us to how to change this
Thank youuuuu!
Strong warranty and strong units. Anyone complaining about it probably has an issue with installation or doesn’t know how to use the remote. Mitsu diamond elite dealers provide a 12 year warranty.
Symbols are hard to differentiate & not user-friendly. Heat (sun) looks too much like Cool (a snowflake, which really looks more like a sun). They should universally standardize these.
I have had this unit for seven years, love performance, above average intelligence but hate the symbols that are so hard to read and discern.
We have a Mitsubishi model from like 15 years ago. In the Mode function there is an image above the sun picture (heating) what is this? It's not in the instructions and even you didn't explain what this does?
i got an a ir conditioner and i have a question. how do i put the clock working?
65 for AC, and 81 for heat? Do you live in South Carolina!? Great video. Answered all my questions.
Had to watch this while at an Airbnb in Portland. Lol

Is there a way to make it just a fan?
Econo cool Raises the temp 6-8 degrees (that makes sense ?)
Eco no cool
He probably meant decreases temp by 6-8 degrees
Saves your money using that mode adding on only using cooling mode, normally used while sleeping.
can you program multiple operating windows e.g. cool from 11 pm to 1 am and then cool again from 3 am to 5 am ?
Nice
Any idea why my indoor unit sometimes blows cool air on the heat only setting.
I have 2 indoor units and we wake up in the middle of the nigh in winter time because the house gets too cold from the units even though the temperature at the remote is set at 75 F
Mohamed Maataoui yeah man these suck ass super hard!
How to use VANE option to lock ac flap in any certain direction ???
Got 3 Mitsi air cons ,(best there is in my opinion) Still trying to figure those small symbols after 7 years ..each season I forget which is which.
We have 5 Mr. Slims in our all wood "cabin". With the three different radiative barriers in the walls roof and floor plus three more under the crawl space the highest the light bill gets is $38. We also have tankless propane water heaters and glass top propane/electric stove and dual propane/electric ovens. Most people cry when I tell them our electric bill in the hottest months.
I can’t turn the unit on and my remote is flashing ‘Mon - clock 0:00’. I cannot reset it or work out why this has happened all of a sudden. Any ideas?
Thanks
Two questions, 1) When using the dehumidifier, are the heating /cooling functions also still in play? For example, is the temperature setting relevant when using dehumidifier or not. 2) is there a way to raise or lower the strength of the dehumidifying, or is it just on or off, with no range in between. Thanks!!
Im wondering about this too..cant seem to find the answer anywhere..can someone help with this question..the number 1..
Me too. I live in a humid environment and drive a semi. The purpose of the until was to help with humidity so the items I store Don't get messed up. I have left mine on the humidifier and came home 11 days later to a room at 55 degrees not 65? Please help!
Anyone have any answers for this yet?
I'm just a dude not an HVAC expert but saw on a different video that the dude said NO the dehumidifier does NOT cool or heat.
@@tflo6198 set your normal heat/cooling temp normally and then Turn on the dehumidifier setting. It’ll dehumidify and once the temperature in the room starts to cool down or heat up (depending on what you put it on) it’ll turn the air or heat back on to essentially reset the temp in the room then it’ll start to be a dehumidifier again once it gets back to the og temp you set it on
I never knew the water droplet was "dehumidify". It makes so much more sense that a water droplet would be "humidify"!
This is the most amazingest video i've ever fucking seen. Subscribed, commented, liked and about to share with all my friends and family. :)
i’ve been pressing too warm for when it’s freezing DUDE
I set my mode to cool fan full blast.it beeps each time I push a button. The light on it light up, but it doesn't cool. It did once for 30 seconds the closed up. Help
The heat option pumps heat out extremely slow is there any way to speed that up?
Does the temperature adjustment work when in the dehumidify mode? or only in AC/Heating. Thanks
Removing humidity is the purpose of the dry mode. If I leave my unit in that mode it will get down into the liw sixtys in my home so i make a alarm clock set for one hour to turn the unit back to normal cool. I use the dry mode in the morning when the humidity is often above 90%.
I have the same remote and Mr Slim A/C but how come I do not have Heating Mode! is it possible that my unit does not have heating option although it is a new unit
is it possible to remove the beep sound? every function i do, it beeps.. i want that off.
you think you can customize such remote controls like you can a computer?
good

HOW TO SET FROM FAHRENHEIT TO CELSIUS AFTER CHANGING BATTERY: press up and down and reset (with a toothpick etc.) all at the same time. You're welcome.
How do you keep the system on...the vents keep closing and not blowing cool air.
I am very confused still. Say I want my room at 68 degrees. What should my settings be set at?
If your shutdown after 2 minutes check the filters or any things closing air passages
My remote looks the same as yours, I do not get the quiet option, or the fourth bar for I speed fan . is there something wrong with my remote.
How do you set the system so by default the system will turn back on after a power surge or power failure? We get a lot of power surges and if we are on vacation, we come home to a HOT house because the mini splits stay off after the power surge. No technician can solve this problem for us.
Hi, I know it’s been 2 years but I know how to solve this for you. All you need is a backup/surge protector battery like this one
www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/apc-back-ups-650va-ups-battery-backup-surge-protector-be650g1/apd/a5547002/power-cooling-data-center-infrastructure?gacd=9646510-1024-5761040-266380031-0&dgc=st&ds_rl=1282786&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIt6T3jsDC8AIVpf_jBx177QpyEAQYBSABEgIKj_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
If the power goes out, this will continue to power the unit until the power comes back on.

Does the temperature have to be at a certain degree for the fan to run on heat mode
Good question
I’ve set the clock but can’t figure out how to disable the start and stop timers! The on/off button is not doing anything, I just want to turn it on and off manually 😭. I’ve set the start and stop time both to 00:00 and the unit can’t be turned off!
What does the LAST setting on Vane mean? Looks like a sorta flower
Can the unit be set on recycle air mode?
How do you pair a replacement remote with a head unit?
Not sure if anyone is monitoring this channel but I'll try anyway. I just received a replacement remote and the "Area" control button does nothing when pressed. I'v tried different combinations of features and nothing. Also, what is the i-see hole used for? I pressed it in with a wide tipped pen and nothing happened. I know I'm doing it correctly b/c I was able to set the time with no problems.
My temp is at 61 on the highest fan mode and on the cooling mode and I’m still sweating. Is there any way to make it colder ???
Help how do i get it to show the info on the screen?? Mine turns on and changes the temperature but the screen remains blank.
Why would a cooling button raise the temperature?
Thanks for the advise.. but you left out a lot of information about how to set the fan to different modes you mentioned, the time and other options.
Because it's a terrible and confusing system

My cousin has one of these inside of his third floor. it does spew out cool air but not cold air and the third floor is constantly hot still even with the windows closed and a fan blowing right in the direction of where we want the air to go. Any advice?

Does this remote have a backlit display?
No
I bought a house w 6 of these beasts and the 3 older ones work great. The three newer ones work when they feel like it but refuse to do any AC work. Anyone know what the icon of a split unit with a funnel pointing down from it means? I can’t get it to go away on the three that don’t work for AC.
Ah nice! A comment that isn’t 2 years old that I can help with!
I believe the symbol you’re referring to is the left/right direction control.
That little unit symbol and the little black icons beneath it control wether you want the air to be directed to the left, center, off-center, right, and the “funnel” with the arrow between it means you want it to keep sweeping back and forth from left to right.
Keep in mind it’s based on when you are FACING the unit. So if you are facing the unit, and you want it to blow to the left of you, change the setting on the remote so the little black lines below the “unit” symbol are to the left.
Hope this helps!
@@tflo6198 Thanks for the reply! I found out the symbol that made no sense was a Smart Sensor that changed the setting if there wasn’t anyone moving around in front of the split. I am still battling these splits. And losing badly. I think the remotes may have been mixed up but they seem to have the right serial numbers. Frustrating. I use Mitsu splits in probably half of the places I stay when I am on vacation and never have a problem. In my own home they are a disaster.
Five months later…. If anything, I now hate the new Mitsubishi remote control even more. I did something that got the remote to turn on the AC last spring. It took approximately 70 or 80 tries spread over three days, but the AC finally started working! Not sure if I did anything differently when I got it to work, maybe I just exhausted the obstinate thing?
Now I am trying to turn the heat on and my first 30 attempts yesterday and today have failed. My three old splits are working fine. My new ones are not. This time I can’t get the clock to set, it keeps blinking no matter what I do. Maybe the blinking means the clock is the issue? Mitsubishi is garbage. They had good remotes for decades and now they are trash.
On edit: A couple hours later and 20 more attempts to get it to work, the split heat kicked in and started working like it was good to go. So I am set until next spring when I get to go through this again. Argh. The capricious nature of this thing is beyond irritating.
