    Handling of the remote controller unit for your Mitsubishi A/C
    • The range that the signal can reach is about 6 m when the remote controller is pointed at the front of the indoor unit.
    • When a button is pressed, one or two beeps will be heard from the indoor unit. If no sound is heard, operate again.
    • Use the remote controller carefully. If it is dropped, thrown or it gets wet, the remote controller may not operate.
    When installing the remote controller on a wall, etc.
    • Install the remote controller holder in a position where the signal reception sound (beep) can be heard from the indoor unit when the ON/OFF button is pressed.
    How to set the batteries and the current time in the Mitsubishi remote control device for your air conditioning system:
    1- Remove the front lid and insert batteries, then reattach the front lid. Insert the minus pole of the batteries first. Check if the polarity of the batteries is correct.
    2- Press the RESET button. If the RESET button is not pressed, the remote controller may not operate correctly.
    3- Press the CLOCK set button.
    4- Press the HR. and MIN. buttons (TIME SET buttons) to set the current time. Each time the HR button is pressed, the set time
    increases by 1 hour, and each time the MIN button is pressed, the set time increases by 1 minute.
    5- Press the CLOCK set button again and close the front lid.
    When the remote controller cannot be used (emergency operation)
    When the batteries of the remote controller run out or the remote controller malfunctions, the emergency operation can be done using the EMERGENCY OPERATION switch.
    Press the EMERGENCY OPERATION switch.
    • Each time the EMERGENCY OPERATION switch is pressed, the unit will operate in order of EMERGENCY COOL MODE, EMERGENCY HEAT MODE and STOP MODE. However, when the EMERGENCY OPERATION switch is once pressed, the unit will operate in test run for 30 minutes and then the operation mode shifts to EMERGENCY MODE.
    To stop the emergency operation, press the EMERGENCY OPERATION switch once (in case of EMERGENCY HEAT MODE) or twice (in case of EMERGENCY COOL MODE).

    After you change the battery, you need to reset the clock. To do this, there are two tiny black buttons next to the battery icon. Use a thin stick (almost the size of a big needle) to press the reset button. Then use the stick to press the clock button. Adjust the time by pressing on the time buttons. On mine there is a time button with an arrow pointing to the right and another one with an arrow pointing to the left. These buttons will increase or decrease the time on the clock. When the right time is set, press the clock button again with the thin stick. The clock panel will stop flashing indicating the clock is set. It took me a long time to figure all this out. Enjoy.

    I had issue getting the ac to come on. Several other commentors have same problem. The fix is 2 fold. First, yes choose the snowflake icon or the second symbol that comes up in the first column on the remote display. Second, and most important, if you have more than one Mitsubishi unit in your home, multiple units in multiple rooms, these units all talk to each other so all the remotes have to be on the same setting. Can’t have one remote set to heat and another set to ac. Sync them all up on ac mode and the ac should work.

    How do you set the system so by default the system will turn back on after a power surge or power failure? We get a lot of power surges and if we are on vacation, we come home to a HOT house because the mini splits stay off after the power surge. No technician can solve this problem for us.

      Hi, I know it’s been 2 years but I know how to solve this for you. All you need is a backup/surge protector battery like this one
      www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/apc-back-ups-650va-ups-battery-backup-surge-protector-be650g1/apd/a5547002/power-cooling-data-center-infrastructure?gacd=9646510-1024-5761040-266380031-0&dgc=st&ds_rl=1282786&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIt6T3jsDC8AIVpf_jBx177QpyEAQYBSABEgIKj_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
      If the power goes out, this will continue to power the unit until the power comes back on.
      Cheers

    Not sure if anyone is monitoring this channel but I'll try anyway. I just received a replacement remote and the "Area" control button does nothing when pressed. I'v tried different combinations of features and nothing. Also, what is the i-see hole used for? I pressed it in with a wide tipped pen and nothing happened. I know I'm doing it correctly b/c I was able to set the time with no problems.

    I bought a house w 6 of these beasts and the 3 older ones work great. The three newer ones work when they feel like it but refuse to do any AC work. Anyone know what the icon of a split unit with a funnel pointing down from it means? I can’t get it to go away on the three that don’t work for AC.

    • @tflo6198
      @tflo6198 Před 3 lety +2

      Ah nice! A comment that isn’t 2 years old that I can help with!
      I believe the symbol you’re referring to is the left/right direction control.
      That little unit symbol and the little black icons beneath it control wether you want the air to be directed to the left, center, off-center, right, and the “funnel” with the arrow between it means you want it to keep sweeping back and forth from left to right.
      Keep in mind it’s based on when you are FACING the unit. So if you are facing the unit, and you want it to blow to the left of you, change the setting on the remote so the little black lines below the “unit” symbol are to the left.
      Hope this helps!

    • @BeardsleyMark
      @BeardsleyMark Před 3 lety +1

      @@tflo6198 Thanks for the reply! I found out the symbol that made no sense was a Smart Sensor that changed the setting if there wasn’t anyone moving around in front of the split. I am still battling these splits. And losing badly. I think the remotes may have been mixed up but they seem to have the right serial numbers. Frustrating. I use Mitsu splits in probably half of the places I stay when I am on vacation and never have a problem. In my own home they are a disaster.

      Five months later…. If anything, I now hate the new Mitsubishi remote control even more. I did something that got the remote to turn on the AC last spring. It took approximately 70 or 80 tries spread over three days, but the AC finally started working! Not sure if I did anything differently when I got it to work, maybe I just exhausted the obstinate thing?
      Now I am trying to turn the heat on and my first 30 attempts yesterday and today have failed. My three old splits are working fine. My new ones are not. This time I can’t get the clock to set, it keeps blinking no matter what I do. Maybe the blinking means the clock is the issue? Mitsubishi is garbage. They had good remotes for decades and now they are trash.
      On edit: A couple hours later and 20 more attempts to get it to work, the split heat kicked in and started working like it was good to go. So I am set until next spring when I get to go through this again. Argh. The capricious nature of this thing is beyond irritating.
