First Lap CRASH at Mid Ohio

I barely avoided this first lap crash at Mid Ohio. Honestly, I think rolling starts are more chaotic than standing starts (unless someone stalls). In a rolling start, we are closer together and we reach T1 at a higher top speed. Any one else find it strange that most American series still opt for rolling starts?

Thunder valley never existed when the track was built. The old section where thunder valley is was called oak tree bend, but drives raised concerns that the bend was too slow. So in 1963 oak tree bend was removed and the Thunder Valley section added in its place. You can still see a bit of tarmec that is left from oak tree bend.

Standing starts in f1 would be more chaotic but they let the teams do practise starts in the pitlane and at the end of ever free practise so they get a perfect start every time
