I wouldn't go so far as to say Putin was 'supporting' Biden. He probably meant Biden himself isn't a likely candidate because at this point, the man doesn't even know what day of the week it is. But, I bet Putin thinks Biden's puppet masters are behind this attempt, given the fact they've tried everything else and no matter what they do, Teflon Don keeps bouncing back with double the momentum he had prior to their trying to take him down. I suspect Putin is hoping that Trump will prevail and win the 2024 election, so together they can finally bring the conflict in Ukraine to a halt, once and for all.

@@marthaball8029 I think the I disagree that the term former is used against some presidents as a political weapon by opponents. Referring to a president who is no longer in office as a former president is factually correct. That is certainly how most people refer to presidents out of office. Certainly, initially referring to a president out of office and thereafter just by his last name would make sense just to reduce the verbiage. Or one could see dropping “former” if the person had served within the last 10-15 years, within most people’s living memory. This is especially true with presidents living longer in recent years and even appearing in public together - as was the case at the memorial service for former First Lady Roslyn Carter, where former Presidents Biden, George W. Bush, Obama and Clinton (along with their wives) attended, along with Carter himself. One might argue for using “former president” if one was discussing a president who had served in,say, the 18th, 19th or early 20th century and was one of those sadly less memorable presidents whom we never learned about in high school history. If you could provide even three or four examples of when you believe “ former”. being weaponized against any particular ex-President just because of his political views, I could be convinced, perhaps. Otherwise, I feel politics has become contentious enough without worrying about the use or non-use of “former.”
