đ€« Iâm not saying we should all quiet quit, all Iâm saying is if there are shortcuts to get our work done faster, then why not?
How I stay productive in life đđ» âą My Simple Productivity...
For me, productivity in the workplace means efficiency + accuracy (i.e. thereâs no point being more productive if your deliverablesâŠkind of suck)
So one of the first things I learned at work was to Steal with Pride. My colleagues have created amazing stuff in the past so thereâs really no need to reinvent the wheel! This is by far the most underrated productivity tip for work!
Whether you use the Microsoft suite of tools (Word, Powerpoint, Excel) or Google Workspace (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides), there are a LOT of practical things you can do to be more productive (e.g. use data validation to ensure no mistakes are made)

Is it bad that my whole reason to be more productive is so that I can read more manga at work lol love this, thanks for all the good ideas.....and now back to tales of demons and gods đ
@@christopherwood8159 Totally and 100% understandable, no-one should ever fault you for that Christopher đ
I have that as my rule
I've been watching Jeff's videos just because of the way he talks. I'm joking... his content is superb too. But I really like the way he conducts the video lol
Sooooo more skits? đ
Serious, Jeff: I love when you make videos in which you show us examples of how to be more productive using tools like Google Docs, Spreadsheets, Presentations, Notion etc. Even though my company hasn't adopted Google Workspace, I try to adapt your examples using Microsoft Word, Excel etc (although not with the same success, as the tools have some differences among them...)
Hopefully the concepts apply to the Microsoft Suite of tools as well! Do you follow Kevin Stratvert for his Microsoft tips as well? đ
@@JeffSu Yes, I do know Kevin's channel, he's got great videos on using Microsoft's apps and softwares.
More tips
Everytime I watch Jeff video, my mind says:- What my company takes 2 hrs to teach, Jeff does it under 10 minutes.đ±
Soooo what you're saying is that you can save ALL your colleagues so much time by just sharing my videos right đ
@@JeffSu Yup, until my manager catch it.
Yes to the video of how you handle projects at work using work apps! Always love your videos Jeff! :)
Gotcha, thanks for letting me know Sophia đ, and thank you!!!
I work as a shelf stocker and listening to music and tuning out everything helps me.
Or on slow days I'll listen to a podcast and find incorrect numbers.
I am literally the only one that can do a certain job correctly and can do one aisle In the time it takes for 2 to work on it.
I don't text, though I may scroll through CZcams to grab a long video (usually on breaks). I'd also recommend focusing on one task at a time as you have a set amount of focus and it's impossible to multi-task.
Being able to 100% one task then complete step 2 through 7 drastically speed things up, especially if you have to login each time you need to use your device and scan something. Or if moving a top stock cart takes more time than it should going in one direction helps.
100% my friend! I remember the times when people thought others who couldn't multi-task were "inefficient" but the truth is we SHOULDN'T be multitasking at all! Thanks for sharing your experiences!
Great video. Google Drive actually also have the "from a template" option for both sheets, docs, slides etc. It's great for recurring documents and saves time from copying and moving files around.
That's a great tip! Thanks for sharing đ
Itâs so great to see and hear your insights and knowledge. As someone whoâs also a knowledge worker in the tech space, I am constantly looking for productivity tools and hacks, your videos are always so relevant to me and help me so much. Thank you, and keep doing what youâre doing đ I appreciate you!
Glad to hear it KL! Interesting phrase "knowledge worker," may I ask how you define this type of people? I wonder if I'm a knowledge worker as well đ

Thank you for sharing these helpful productivity tips in your video that can benefit many people in their work. Here are the 5 key points of the video.
1. Steal productivity tips and materials with pride.
2. Template repetitive tasks to save time.
3. Automate input processes with formulas and features.
4. Organize information by where you'll use it.
5. Make pre-reads for meetings to ensure productivity.
Great summary my friend đ
Yes, please share your video on how you handle projects at work using work apps (including for us Microsoft users if available).
Iâm new to productivity and PKM, and just starting out as a enterprise software project manager for a government entity. Your video topics *ARE EXACTLY* what Iâve been searching for to crystallize in my head the concepts and structures to guide me when trying to have a personal second brain in Reflect notes app, while ALSO having a file management system at work that doesnât offer bi-directional links/backlinks. Having a clear organizational structure to apply to both databases/functionalities is very useful and appreciated. Thank you for your succinct summarization of what I couldnât get my head wrapped around until now!
Sorry what's PKM? Personal Knowledge Management?
And no problem, glad you found these videos helpful Aly đ

This video is priceless. I really appreciate the tips you shared. Here is five takeaways which caught my attention :
1. steal productivity with pride
2. Template repetitive tasks using google docs, spreadsheets
3. Automation with formulas (sum for example) and features (data validation)
4. Organize information by where it will be use
5. Being more productive by making pre-read before meeting

@@JeffSu Yes, definately!
Amazing tips, I will definitely try them tomorrow like sync sheet into slides. Bookmarks between files. The relevant links section is gold and that's the most important for me since I work on many files on many servers. In windows, I have .txt file with the link to go on google drive. And I steal from my fabulous interns! They make my work look like crap when I open their spreadsheets.
Hahaha maybe the interns have been watching my videos? đ just kidding. But I'm curious what do you mean by "have .txt file with the link to go on google drive"?
@@JeffSu on internal server, the shared server where all the job stuff is, we have word, excel, powerpoint, other files on there. But we also use google suite and I love using slides, doc, etc. Something on the server I have my projects but I want to user(me) :P in the future to know that I did some presentation in google drive so i have this READ_ME.txt file with the link to the actual google slide/doc. Sometime I write READ_ME.txt with hyperlink to that google doc.

Hey. Whatever gets you to watch the video đ. Are you a manga or anime person?
@@JeffSu I consume both anime and manga, though it depends on the series itself. Oh and not to forget Light Novels (mostly isekai anime source materials) to fool my parents into thinking I am doing some productive relaxation instead of wasting time.
@@arghya_333 Wow I had no idea what Light Novels are before you mentioned it and I googled it, thanks for teaching me something new! My favorite "niche" manga would be Claymore (since everyone obviously would know about the big 3 - naruto, bleach, and One Piece)

I gotta tell ya, it's still gonna be 2 - 3 days; productivity increases with pay, not with more tricks. At my previous job, there were many months every year where I regularly work less than 15 hours a week. Most of us are all very efficient and productive but we don't demonstrate that unless pay catch up first, we just pretend it still takes 2-3 days while completing it within few hours, so we can relax for a whole day. Gotta give employees a reason to demonstrate their best, it's not hard to find another okay or bad job, so employees need a reason to be like 'i gotta do better because i love it here and i want to stay for a long time'
Great points Steven!

My mindset for using online tools is based on: Don't be held hostage to apps, systems and platforms! Understand your workflow and use the most appropriate tool, as needed. Avoid comparisons and enjoy the best in each one!
100% agree with you there!
"My mindset for using online tools is based on: Don't be held hostage to apps, systems and platforms! "
Completely.
For a few months I have been trying different tools for task management and in the end I am left with a personalized spreadsheet. In my case with Google Workspace but it could be Excel or any other.
"Colleagues are willing to help is the job is made easy for them"
Well, not for my team... I literally coded Excel macros with easy prompts to fill in and made a tutorial to use it, and they just ask me to use the file alone and never use it themselves... Btw : macros for the automation ftw! You can code a complex one for one week and then make a 3-hour-long task shrink into a 3-minute-long one
Man I'm sorry to hear that ZarakaĂŻ đ , it seems like you're a colleague I would LOVE to work with though lol!
Here's something I'm embarrassed to admit: I used to use Macros alot and now...I have completely forgotten how to use even the simplest ones
