mobo music of black origin music award in uk
I had the pleasure of seeing him live at a work dinner event.I was sat at a table near the stage pouring a glass of wine, he saw and asked for a glass so I poured him one and he knocked it back! Fantastic guy and truely genuine. He then asked for a shot of vodka as we had a bottle on a table. I walked up and gave him the glass. He said I like this bloke! RIP fella.
Lucky bastard
Fair play mate, that's pretty special
One of Sean's many amazing bits.. Hard to believe been a year already.. RIP to legend
Let's go Boomer
Sean Lock talking about Twitter and Billy Conolly talking about incontinence pants. Also, Blackadder is the best way to learn about British history whilst being hilarious.
Sean Lock's sitcom 15 Storeys High is amazing
Sean Lock did an excellent sitcom that not many people know about - 15 Storeys High. Definitely worth a watch.
I have to watch that. Thank for the tip.
It actually started out as a radio show - even less people know that ! :-)
@@welshgit 2 versions actually. 15 storeys high, then 15 minutes of misery.
@@ColinIngus1 👍
Sean Lock and Miles Jupp on 8 out of 10 cats does countdown is also great!
Best bromance of all time.
watched loads of 8 out of 10 cats, and did not know Miles Jupp was supposed to be funny, never mind being a Comedian. I had to Google him before I wrote this !
The MOBO Awards are an annual British music award presentation honoring achievements in "music of black origin", including hip hop, grime, UK Drill, R&B, soul, reggae, jazz, gospel, and African music.
Just imagine if they were to bring out the mowo awards. This would be deemed to be racist.
@@abboash There's always one.
Except for the media hate grime and drill so it's not normally included unless its "nice guy stormzy"
@@abboash very true. If there were awards for only white people there would be loads of trouble. Ok for racism when white people are excluded I guess.
Yeah, the BOXERS on stairs is brilliant! Either she slips and falls or she will shout at you to tidy AWAY your stuff. RIP SEAN!
Sean Lock videos were one of my CZcams 'Go To' videos to cheer my up and I was watching some less than 24 hours before the bad news broke. When I seen a thumb nail saying he had died I thought it was one of his outrageous punchlines, when I realised it was true I was Absolutely GUTTED :( One of the most naturally funny guys Ever, even without actually telling' Jokes'. Just his take on life was enough to crack you up.
I had the same reaction. I was totally gutted as well
Sean's dance when he sings "Wives, wives, wives!" 😆 -x-
I'd like to throw a recommendation into the ring if I may. There was a music based quiz show over here in the UK called Nevermind the Buzzcocks. It aired for 29 series and it was easily one of the funniest quiz based shows on TV at the time.
The show had 2 different hosts, Mark Lamarr was host for roughly the first 10 series and then Simon Amstell took over the reigns after that. They were both amazing hosts but they had very different presenting styles. Mark was very witty and would banter with the quests, whereas Simon although equally as witty would take the piss out of the guests to the point they wanted the ground to swallow them up.
So many amazing moments but 2 that really stick out for me is when one of the guests walked out half way through filming because Simon was mockingly reading extracts from his wife's book and they got a member of the live audience to fill in for him as he 'looked a bit like him'. The other moment is when Simon made a remark with regards to Courtney Love. I won't spoil it in case you do watch it but its safe to say it wouldn't be aired in these snowflakey times.
Was an amazing show and has definitly achieved 'cult classic' status. Highly recommended 👌
I second this. Buzzcocks was sensational as its best
Great shout!
They tried to recreate it. Didn't have the same magic what so ever.
@@bl4zerunn3r89 agreed, it was totally cringy and came across as desperate
Yes to ALL of the Above! An Amazing show, the “ Intro’s round” was just a work of Genius, even if the guests had no musical talent so very entertaining. The Intro’s round was a section of the Music based Quiz show where guests would have to improvise with their vocal talents ( or lack of) to reproduce the intro to a current or past song, and the the other team member would have to guess the song they were trying to recreate. Two teams of three guests, they would have past and current musical Artists and comedians. The wit and banter was always bitingly sharp to the point were some guest walked off set in the middle of the show! A need to watch before you die, a whole show is best, but a top rated compilation would also work.
I discovered Sean lock in his comedy series "15 stories high" which had the worst TV scheduling of any TV show I have ever seen, I can't remember the schedule but it was something crazy like 1 or 2am on a Sunday morning when everyone was in bed. It was fantastic and featured the now famous Benedict Wong from the MC Universe playing Errol, the easily influenced flat mate. My favourite bits were the wedding dress classified add, the vertigo cure training shoe prize, the wallpaper stripping ocd, the microwave potato eye incident, oh, and the sofa sale!
Total class. Don`t forget "Bath first, measure later", "EURH, Liquorice, nahhh thats orrible", "you are causing me dismay and distress, eh ehh" "BACON!?!", "NaAaAaNna" "Jesus Christ Derek! OO made this pile o shit", "Let it snow let it snow let it snowwww", "Skimmed milk, hmmmmm that sounds nice"
🤣
Brilliant series.
Sean will always be special. RIP ❤️. A very, very funny human being indeed.
'Washing up and cooking dinner.....washing up and cooking dinner .....wives wives wives!' 🤣😂🤣😂
Sean lock absolutel legendary 💯💯👍👍
The absolute king of British comedy
You can find on CZcams a full show from Sean lock called “lockipedia” it is from his 2010 show
No - it's not a song that i ever heard when i was growing up (at least not the wives wives wives bit anyway). i was fortunate enough to see Sean on stage around 2010 (maybe earlier - can't remember exactly) he did a great piece all about Madonna if you can find it🤣
I had the absolute privilege of seeing Sean Live and actually got to speak to him briefly. He is sorely missed.
I can't believe it's been a year since he passed away. I'm recording his stand up show Lockipedia which is on UK TV tonight. He's still greatly missed, thankfully we can watch him as much as we want.
The MOBOs or Music Of Black Origin is a music awards show. Sean's bit to wind up David Baddiel about being the first person to play a comedy gig at Wembley Arena (Sean was the support act on David Baddiel and Rob Newman's stand-up tour which famously played at Wembley Arena) he was also a performer on their show Newman and Baddiel in Pieces which is another show you should watch, especially the History Today sketches.
I was the same with Patrice O'Neal, I only discovered him after he passed away.
I love the Sean Lock bit he does on Madonna. So fricken funny.
One of Sean's first stints was a radio show called " 15 Stories high" . Its on here series 1 is the best, damn hilarious
Lee Mack has some brilliant quips. There's a "Would I Lie To You?" (comedy panel show) compilation of his impromptu one-liners on yt somewhere.
2:20 The MOBOs are an award ceremony, it stands for "Music Of Black Origin"
Yep... That song is 100% real.
A nice clip , Sean will always be remembered fondly , the BBC has a stand up show , Live at the Apollo , and most of our comedians have done a slot over the years .It's probably a good source for short clips .
Yes I was going to suggest that too. Go search them out Brian.
MOBO - Music of Black Origin. Also the Mongoose joke refers to the pejorative term "Mong" occasionally used in the UK.
Sean could do physical comedy as well as everything he spoke on stage being funny. Nice to see your appreciation of his stuff and your respect for the man. I think he was pretty much universally loved. There are some great 8 out of 10 cats collections out there as well as more of his excellent stand up. Thanks for this. RIP Sean.
Sean lock doing stand up was on last night, I recorded it and watched it this morning. Lockipedia it was called. I wouldn't recommend that one tho. Think he had a very rare off night but others probably disagree. He was a funny bloke. Sadly missed by many
Look up “ carrot in a box “ , I cry laughing when I watch this .
Sean started out as a scaffold worker. All his outdoor work meant he spent a lot of time in the sunshine. He got malignant melanoma, which he got over, but the cancer came back 🫤
Theres loads of saun lock standup all veryy funny love your channel, tis nice linking up with people over seas lol
Brilliant reaction as always King, and you have very grounded senses, very sincere and respecful, rare in YTers in my experience.
Wonderful. Thank you.
So glad that, as an American, and as an English speaking human that you get a lot out of our humour.
My uncle used to milk cows on a dairy farm. He got a pat on the back.
KB✌️you're right buddy, great shame Sean has passed but at least you have discovered him now which is better than never, we will all be looking for empty boxes lying around in your vids now😂😂see ya mate
Finally some material from the legendary 2008 Gig
Sean Lock have seen him twice and met him at a Chelsea game, great knowledge of 70;s football, Micky Droy, Butch Wilkins, Chris Garland, Ron Harris..
You guys should watch Spaced with Simon Peg and Nick Frost. Over 20 years old now but still stands up. Very meta.

Bob Mortimer was on TV tonight on this side of the pond. WILTY, talking about giving Damon Hill a Scotch egg. Check it out xx

Best stand up since Dave Alan.
MOBO music of black origin. its an award
Sean used to host a show called tv heaven and telly hell, where he'd discuss tv shows with comedian friends with him and some of the episodes are absolute gold. Highly recommend the ones with Johnny vegas, Lee Mack and Bill Bailey
Thanks
Sean's Purple Van Man has lots of views here on the tube
You need to find an obscure TV show called Ideal, where Sean Lock is a frequent guest star. I won't spoil the surprise for you.
check sean on 8 outta 10 cats does count down almost all are pure brilliance with the people he bounces off, and as wayne says below buzzcocks was brilliant but in its earlier series with mark lamarr

Political Correctness has gone mad, so mad it made Billy Connolly rage at fire engine sirens.
One day try America first.. series.
Yeah man check out never mind the buzzcocks
IDK if you want to upload your reactions to it, but you should definitely watch "15 stories high" Sean Lock's sit-com. the best thing he has ever done asides from saying "That's a challenging w**k" to Rachel Riley. you might get trouble with copy right CZcams bots but from one Sean Lock fan to another it's a must watch it.
Sean Locke is a straight off the block Legend. His stand up is great.
But...if you want some side splitting genius then you look no further than The Mick Miller "Noddy" sketch.
It has been classed as one of thee best British 3 minute stand ups of all time
MOBO is a British music award ceremony witch is for the black British people.

There are quite a few to choose from but try Sean lock on global warming and the environment.

Bang on boomer
Mobo = Awards ceremony like the Oscars which celebrates "Music of Black Origin" and 99% of the guests are black. Not racist at all
Imagine if we had Mowo (music of white origin) or moao (music of Asian origin) and black people weren't guests 🤔
👍
MOBO, Music of Black Origin
🤣
As far as I remember the song is real, however my memory is struggling 50 years on...crap thanks, now I have realised I am an old fart....time to join Statler and Waldorf in the box and be bald and toothless forever...
Think you'd like "Sean lock has no time for child actors"
Check Sean Lock/Miles Jupp make Jimmy Carr cry with spit joke - 8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown.
