    2022 Alfa Romeo Tonale full details: aex.ae/3KufmYm
    2022 Alfa Romeo Stelvio review: aex.ae/2UDaOod
    The all-new Alfa Romeo Tonale has arrived. It's an Audi Q3-rivalling SUV that, in a first for the brand, will be available with plug-in hybrid power when it goes on sale in April - three years on from its concept debut. It carries over most of the show car's elegant styling, and Alfa has placed a big focus on the Tonale's interior quality, infotainment and connectivity, and promises strong performance from the plug-in hybrid version. But what's it like in the metal? Allow Nicola Hume to talk you through the Tonale's design, interior, engines and features in this first-look walkaround video.

      Bought a Giulia Veloce early 2018. Drove 75000 km with it. Not a single issue (not even a little creak somewhere in the cabin, as you might experience with many French cars i.e.) and the car is simply brilliant dynamically speaking. That reliability thing has become complete BS on the latest ARs. But sadly it sticks. Wish you a lot of fun and emotions with your Tonale (SUVs are not at all my thing, so I won't go for it and will probably and sadly have to go for another brand that has the kit I'm looking for). Greetings from Belgium

    Hopefully they reinvigorate their sales force too! As a long time Alfa owner and avid Alfisti who still owns a 3 litre Spider I tried 3 times to buy a Giulia between November 2021 and January of this year from the local dealer. They couldn't once send me a quote or give me an idea of price or even make the slightest effort to sell me a car. I ended up buying a car from another brand who actually wanted my business. Both Volvo and Lexus made the kind of effort that one would expect from a luxury brand. Even the local Abarth dealer was more interested in selling me a car than the Alfa sales people. No matter how good the product is without proper service it'll be more of the same.

    Replacing the top-selling Giulietta with a niche crossover hybrid weighing nearly 2 tonnes that's no quicker, no more economical and yet costs a lot more, seats the same number of people and has less cargo space?
    Yeah, great work Stellantis. This is exactly what Alfa Romeo should be building to win back customers en masse. If their target market is lobotomites it will be a tremendous success.

    • @Av987
      @Av987 Před 2 lety

      Crossover hybrids are selling like hot cakes all over the world at the moment, so yeah, may not be your cup of tea, but to become financially healthy again, like in the 156 era, they have done the right thing.

    • @Strike86
      @Strike86 Před 2 lety +4

      @@Av987 Given that the crossover is being outsold 4:1 by the hatchback in most manufacturers' ranges, I'd say no, they haven't.
      As well as being environmentally irresponsible, dangerous, antisocial and polluting, these vehicles put the worst possible face on what should be a sporting brand. They put the worst face on the motor industry, period.
      If they want to recapture past sales successes this is absolutely not the way to do it, and it's a great way to alienate your core customer base while you're at it.
      I am so tired of this ridiculous notion that car manufacturers need to build SUVs to survive. It's not true, it's not supported by data and it's actively counter-productive to the brand strength and image of many manufacturers.

      @@Strike86 Like it or not, car companies are ... companies. And companies are there to make money. And car companies make money greatly in part by selling cars. And there is plenty of data analysis to suggest SUV's sell more than any other type of vehicles (Coupes, sedans, hatchbacks), so if Alfa Romeo makes SUV's, it is expected to attract sales, you like it or not, which in turn will make the company be able to make money, which in turn will allow it to develop other less selling type of cars like.. you know, fun cars. So... why complain? If you support the brand so much, be happy on moves that will make them money, because they making money, will allow you to enjoy their brand more in the long run.

    • @Strike86
      @Strike86 Před 2 lety +2

      @@alejandroangel3103 See my first reply to Av987. The crossover/SUV market represents roughly 25% of new cars sold in Britain right now, so to say they're keeping car manufacturers alive just doesn't make sense. The largest market in Europe is still for C-segment hatchbacks. The Porsche fallacy gets trotted out a lot, but people forget that the Boxster saved Porsche, not the Cayenne.
      Car manufacturers ARE pushing them, because they're easy to build on existing platforms and they can be marked up and sold as a 'premium' product for higher profits, but frankly I have moral arguments against building them at all. A pedestrian struck by an SUV is 2-3 times more likely to die of their injuries than one hit by a normal car, not to mention their incompatibility with smaller vehicles, and the waste of building a heavier vehicle using more materials that is then much less efficient over its life span. In today's climate that's insane, especially considering 95% of buyers have zero need for the supposed utility they offer.
      Using Alfa Romeo as an example, they're hinting at a range of SUVs being developed in the next few years (including the Tonale) with no mention of any replacement for the Giulietta or any possible sports car (the GTV project was supposedly turned into the Maserati MC20). Sporting cars at Alfa Romeo should never be an afterthought, they should be a core product, but if SUVs are what sell then that's all they're going to build.
      In all honesty if the only thing they're building is SUVs and crossovers then I don't feel they deserve to survive.

    Tutte le case automobilistiche basano più modelli sul medesimo pianale. Nessun giornalista si è mai scandalizzato del fatto che Audi e VW condividano pianali, motori e mille altri aspetti con le plebee Skoda e Seat! Sono Alfista da sempre e nel mio garage ho una nuova Renegade 4x4 della quale sono entusiasta proprio per la sua precisione di guida e il suo comportamento in strada eccellente. Aderenza, sospensioni, reattività e sterzo sono notevoli per un Suv, la mano italiana si sente! In Garage ho anche una Giulietta 1.8 del 1981, sorella maggiore della 75. A quei tempi la sua linea, la sua tenuta di strada, il suo motore con trasmissione Transaxle erano avanti anni luce rispetto alla concorrenza fatta di auto tutte uguali tra loro. Oggi sembra di guidare un'auto contemporanea per prestazioni e tenuta di strada...senza bisogno di elettronica... La invito a fare un giro sulla mia Giulietta e vedrà quanti sguardi ammirati attira ancora.

      @@guywerb I really hope that the Tonale will get Alfa the sales it needs because it's clearly a car made to generate as much profit as possbile...even Alfa has to do this just to make sure it survives and keeps doing cars "meant for soul" as i like to say. The germans have great cars too, but when you drive an Alfa it's just so beautiful and gives you so many emotions. Italians have always been underrated in many industries including car manufacturing

    Alfa romeo should make Pininfarina concept spider to save the brand..
    Alfa most selling car is spider.. not another budget, boring SUV
    Where is a great design, like: 33 stradale, brera, 147 gta, 8c, etc...

    Strange for a car company to bring out a new model of car. We are still seeing 8 year old Passat, 7 year old Audi Q5, A4 beeing offered. That is why I went with Tesla 3 long range. Car companys are all into EV transformation and not old style new model diesel cars.

    They've realised that letting Fiat get too involved with the design process means you're left with a crap fiat hidden under an alfa badge. They're doing it themselves again now & since then they've been pumping out good cars! I expect this is gonna be no different

      The price won't be 'right', it'll be much more expensive than the Jeep Compass it is based on, because Alfa always price themselves out of their market.

    the only problem with Alfa's cars are german cars that over the past decades became very popular, became the main point of reference and a status symbol. Alfa makes great products but they cost as much as a german car so customers would simply prefer going with the german option.

  • @shanerowe5289

    Really want to buy an ALFA but just too many horror stories with reliability.
    I need a car to start, go and cost as little as possible to maintain. Great design and handling means nothing while waiting for a tow truck.
    If, and its a big if, Alfa can show its cars are more that pretty garage queens then I will take the plunge.
    I have classic Japanese motorcycles to ride on an sunny day if I want fun.

    • @marcelhandsome6042
      @marcelhandsome6042 Před 2 lety +4

      I've owned an Alfa Mito for 7 years now never let me down zero faults! Alfa Romeo steel have been fully galvanised since 1988! I would say take the plunge life is too short to driving a boring Japanese car! Italian cars bring a different dimension to your life more than just A to B but a deeper relationship connection to the car that makes you feel so good about your driving.
