I was there when Dacca fall,West Pakistan is 100% responsible for this separation,west Pakistan never accept Bengali as a citizen of Pakistan.

I think Jamiat i Islami and Army is responsible for the separation of East Pakistan. Jamiat was not accepting the Mandate of Awami League like Mr. Bhutto. Jamiat i Islami created Al Badar & Al Shamas to curb their protest and fully involved in the massacre of Bengalis, which lead to the fall of Dacca.

Intentionally done to save West Pakistani Establishment and Politicians who were not ready to accept the Mandate of the Public. Gen sb well narrated. Another commission was needed to know the " Facts n Reasons of separation of East Pakistan"
Sh Mujib was allowed to contest elections on his 6 points. Elctns held in Dec1970 , immediately after notifctn of returned MNAs , asmbly session shud hv been summoned. But aftr much delay it was called in early March. Then started the real game plane. A leader frm W.Pak who had only 82 seats in NA started pressurising n threatening Yaya khan to postpone the session nd demanded Mujib, whose seats in NA were double than his , to had a power sharing agreement wid him ?? . A general poltcl consensus was definitely appreciable for framing new constitution , but majority cudnt be denied to come in power. What were the reasons or compulsions of yahya to postpone NA session, without fixing a new date ? Didn't he know what wud be it's consequences ? If Bhutto or any other W.Pak leader had been in the position of Mujib , what wud hv been his reaction in such situation ? What a little bit I hv studied, it was a well thought plan of w.pak bureaucracy, industrialists, capitalists, politcians to get rid of Bengalis . They all hate them. Poltcl leadership of both wings lacked vision, courage nd sencerety , so they cudnt
come to a solution by dialogue. Hence military was made Scapegoat ?? Even a lay man knew that 2 ,3 divs Pak army was miserably insufficient to defend all its border wid India nd for internal security as well. Our air corridor to E.Pak over India had been blocked. So there was no chance to fight n win. Why we failed to get support in UNSC and why we delayed n wasted time to get ceasrfire resolution ? The most surprising thing is that why the governments which came after Bhutto , especially one headed by a General, did not constitute another commisson to inquire into all the factors contributing to the surrender of our army which against all odds ( Gen Manekshaw the then Chief of Staff of Indian Army 11:1) fought bravely for more than three weeks and were prepared and capable of fighting for at least another two weeks as explained by me in an article titled " Surrender Sans a Defeat" which was published in Financial Times in Dec last year. We had nothing to loose even if we had agreed to a joint inquiry with India and Bangladesh under the auspices of UNO. Instead we are internationally facing charges of genocide with a continued full blast propaganda by both India and Bangladesh with a week and apologetic response by our governments in power. The most shameful thing which has recently been aired by our channels against the army is the statements by our top political leadership - prominent amongst them is that of Khawaja Asif the present Defence Minister- in which he openly said that 93000 Pakistani soldiers had put their pants down in front of the Indians! That is the perception and a sense of, if not of all, most of the people that we and our next generation will carry about our army which successfully defended a part of our country which no longer wanted to remain with us.

We are also responsible for this incident because the military dictator of pakistan who initiated military operation against their own brothers resulted in the revolt against our military.
