DJI Inspire 2 Drone 👀 5Yrs Later!

- The Inspire 2 was released in 2016, fast forward to 2021 and this drone still rocks!
We were out there all day and into the evening, after reviewing all the footage, we went with the sunset shots, I hope you like the shots.
Even in 2021, you can't put a price on a drone that has a camera equip to handle interchangeable lenses, simply because nobody is mass producing these types of drones. This inspire 2 drone was way, way ahead of its time, still going strong, and still works fantastic!
I can watch the legs go up automatically all day and the X7 camera quality and dynamic range is a dream to edit. I did not get a chance to shoot in Prores but the D-Log was more than enough. Plus the cendence controller equipped with the ultra-bright 2000nits display made the experience even more comfortable. The setup was surprisingly fast and smooth for its size.
I had a blast flying it and definitely a checkmark on my drones to fly bucket list!

Maybe that 25mm lens is the sweet spot or maybe the timing was just right?

Very nice video on the inspire 2. From looking at your other videos about Air2s quality, I feel the Air2s is in the perfect sweet spot of all the drones in the market right now.

The DJI Air 2s compares to the Mavic 3 like a Volkswagen compares to a Porsha! I know, because I purchased both, and tested them out.

DJI should have designed the new smart controller like this controller so you can swop batteries when one battery needs charging just put a fresh one in the controller....Great video Big X

I think a lot more dynamic range could have been pulled in post. Especially from an x7 camera.

My og phantom 4 still Flys great. Dji old tech still holds up. Awesome video.
Just a comment, these camera systems are on the MFT mount factor. As such, if you were using 35mm equivalent, then you missed that 16mm with a MFT lenses would be double at 32, 25 at 50, 50 at 100 and finally the 100 would end up at 200mm.
Those who have them can't complain about the quality. Yes, it takes a while to set up but this is for documentary grad projects and short movies. Not your pull it out, fly it, hope for the best without weather is was safe to fly. It isn't old and still has it's uses for high end shots.
The x5s camera is mft so this applies. This is the X7 It uses Dji DL lenses and they both are super 35.

What kind of flight time were you getting per battery? These Inspires, especially one so well equipped with 4 lenses, is the bomb baby! It's a lot to carry around and not for the run and gun shooter but still so nice for pro level use.

This setup is used for the PGA Tour events. It was used during the Ryder Cup this year with fantastic results.
Looks like one smoggy ass place to live. Come up to upstate N.Y. Were the sky is clear , no pollution. Awesome Drone $$$$$$. You better get yourself the Pro 3 ASAP.
Your color graded hardly looks any different from log. Did you apply any saturation?

Wanting to try Waypoints with my Mavic Air 2. I tried going into Hyperlaps and then Waypoints...and I get a message that I need to be flying first. Is there a way to preset my flight plan in Waypoints before launching my drone?
FYI - I'm new at this just got my Basic license a year ago...and now getting in my flying hours. Real Estate is my goal. A professional photographer since 1985 turned high school teacher. I'm retiring in 4 years and will need something to keep me occupied.

Does the inspire 2 record to Solid state memory sticks & do you need a special codec to shoot movie quality media ( the movie industry standard apparently)
Yes it does record to an ssd. It records raw, proress, h.264/265 and D-log.

nice stuff. but you really need a strap and holder for controller combo like this. will make flying way more precise and easy.
I love my Inspire 2 as well, yes it’s old tech compared to the Mavic 3 etc, but the quality coming out of that x7 camera is second to none. If you want the best possible quality from your photos or videos the I2 is still the way to go.

If you have a portable drone, please bring it with you in your carry-on, decrease your batteries to 10% charge and if you can put the batteries in a lipo safe bag and put them in your carry on as well 💪

Mavic 3 has a much smaller 4/3 sensor with only 12 stops of dynamic range.
Mavic 3 can't ascend and descend as fast as this, nor does it have the top speed like this.
Mavic 3 falls right between the Phantom 4 Pro and Inspire 3

You need two people operating this drone. One pilot one camera operator. The pilots view is extremely horrible. The range of this drone is its biggest downfall. My mavic mini can fly further. It’s probably time to sell.

Big waste of money. Too big, too expensive. It’s like owning a Lamborghini to drive in bumper to bumper traffic to go to work at Burger King
True if you don’t do high end contract often with drones this is not for you. Bought mine and it was sitting in my closet for many years since its not a drone you can use anywhere you want and pretty dangerous if it crash. Another thing i hate about this drone is very unstable at low altitudes.

i wish he had brought the 2nd remote and he could have flown FPV and comtrolled the camera while with Main that controlled the Inspire that would have been really intresting to see. Great video thats nice pakage he put together. 🦾
