- In the Resident Evil series, Alice was created by the Umbrella Corporation as a clone of Alicia Marcus, the daughter of co-founder James Marcus. Alice's purpose was to protect the Mirror House, and she remained unaware of her true identity as a clone, believing herself to be the original-since all Umbrella clones were made to think this way. Publicly, she was married to Spence; however, their marriage was a sham intended to safeguard the mansion. They became romantically involved at a later point.
In 2002, Alice started communicating with an Umbrella researcher named Lisa Addison, who was secretly working for former FBI agent Matt Addison. Instead of arresting her, Alice offered to help Lisa expose Umbrella's bioweapons research by devising a plan to disable the Red Queen security system and facilitate the theft of a T-virus sample. Alice was likely influenced by Alicia's inherent sense of compassion. Unbeknownst to them, Spence discovered their plan. Believing that bringing down Umbrella in such a manner was worthless, he instead formulated his own scheme to steal a virus sample using his own security clearance, sell it on the black market, and escape with the proceeds, taking Alice with him.
I know it's not popular but I loved the movies. I just wish they would've stuck with their own continuity from movie to movie instead of all the retconning. Thanks for the vid friend.
The one thing expected from a writer director who had the helm for all would be a proper continuity and consistent story archs, but apparently from this Mr Anderson has a short memory and refuses to watch his own films.

That's because they tried to introduce more lore from the games that weren't out yet by the time the first movie was out.

Those movies had a huge amount of holes that threw everything off. In apocalypse the creator of the T-vires was Dr. Ashford, then years later they made the creator Dr. Marcus which was confusing. Never explained how all of Washington DC was destroyed and Alice was untouched, or where Leon Kennedy, Ada Wong, or the deaf daughter disappeared.
Someone stated that Dr Ashford was the original creator and Dr Marcus stole it, but you are right , there are other unresolved plot holes
I think theres supposed to be a book/novella that explains the daughter was killed by alice while being controlled but i just seen the comment around not sure where it started or how true it is
@@vieenrose7340 that's true but the original comment is referring to the clone daughter from Retribution, but ig since no other character present at the end of that movie appears in the next it's likely they all died in the final battle
Everyone from Retribution died in the off screen fight except Wesker and Alice . Just like everyone but Clare and Alice died in the opening minutes of Retribution. Luthor shows up only to die in the Retribution despite somehow surviving the tunnels in Afterlife.
Another plot hole is, what happened to Angela Ashford. Or K-mart.

The reason the virus acted differently on her was that it was originally created to fix a problem in her dna. Allisa, the original from which Alice was cloned, had a problem that made her age rapidly. Her father used her DNA to find a method to stop that aging.
Funny thing is that Alice was genetically modified before the outbreak after it was revealed that she was a clone all along
They explain it with that it was all to save Alicia Marcus to die of her illness.

The resident evil live action movies had a few great moments, but, it seemed lik the directors didnt know what the f*ck they really envisioned. Alice should have NEVER gotten telekinesis ever. Should have definitely just of been advanced, like wesker was before the fool completely ruined himself with the uroboros virus.
The resident evil movies had SOME amazing things going for them, if they got reviewed, had some changes, they could be a hugely loved worldwide phenomenon in the next timeline.
I currently see them as heavily flawed works, that COULD be mastered into grand cinematic works. Not interested in deleting them, but i am interested in improving them.
When the resident evil movie first came out I thought Alice was supposed to be Alexia Ashford 😂

What I Love The MOST About These Films Is That While Each Installment Tonally Visually Changes, Keeping Them New & Fresh With Little Of Continuity, Alice's Character On The Other Hand Stayed Very Consistent & Drastically Focused. Going From Pure Innocence In The 1st Film To Slowly But Drastically Overtime Of Each Installment Afterwards Becoming The Strong Soldier/Superhero & Spirit Of Sheer Vengeance Because Of Everything The Umbrella Corporation Has Done To Her & The World Around Her She's Forced To Survive Through & Try To Fix What She Unknowningly But Initially Was A Part Of From The Very Beginning Of The Series. Her Character Is The Most Consistent Element About The Series Constantly Learning, Changing & Adapting To The Apocalypse While Keeping Her Consistent Strongest Focus Of Her Overall Motivations Throughout The Series Which Is This Need To Stop The Umbrella Corporation & Put The World Back To The Way It Was To Some Certain Extent Of What's Left Of It. I'll Forever LOVE The HELL Out Of These Films For Being Just Pure Sheer Fun Entertainment/Escapism

The movies are a guilty pleasure of mine. No thought, just kick ass action brain rot.
They really should've just put Alice into a completely original IP. Wesker was already the 'perfect' BOW in RE with a long standing rivalry with Chris. Then along came Mary-Sue Alice to fill the role of the game characters in the first 3 movies...which reduced the appearance of game characters to less than fan service.
RE: Welcome to Raccoon City was a better 'for the fans' movie than Anderson's tripe. And the gall of Jovovich to say Alice should be added to new games because she's, in her mind, basically canon now.
Wes needs to stop pushing his wife into all of his game adaptations. Better yet, he should leave game-to-movie adaptations alone.

Alice: The Ultimate Mary-Sue
A character that did not even exist in the source material and ended up crowding out the actual protagonists of the story.
Hollywood did the same crap again with “cOle” in the 2019 Mortal Kombat movie.

Wish they kept on a different route as not trying to mashup everything at once. Alice telekinesis is so good like it feels it is inspired by Parasite Eve 1 & 2 but then got butchered by westernisation of everything and plotholes. They really smoking something for each movies.

I'm just going to say it, I love these movies. I love Milla Jovovich in basically everything she does, these movies mostly kick ass.
I know I know, big issues with the games and continuity and all of that... Fortunately for me, I watched the original in theaters, and to this day I've never played even one second of any RE game. I don't like horror games but I do like zombie movies, so they work for me.
For the fans of the games... Sorry that they didn't deliver a faithful adaptation for you, but let's be honest... How many game to movie adaptations actually WORK? Especially in 1999 or whatever year the original RE film released?
For the mindless zombie action-horror flicks these are supposed to be, they work fine. Maybe think of them as an alternate universe of RE?
Still, I recommend watching Let's plays of the Resident Evil games. Especially the remakes are visually really nice and the story is pretty interesting, even if you just pick the big success games (1-4ish and 7+8 as far as I can tell). Works like watching a movie or long series.
That doesn't mean I hate the movies, I actually reall enjoy them, but the enjoyment of one doesnt deny the enjoyment of the other!

MORE SUGGESTIONS IF A (RESIDENT EVIL) SHOW MIGHT GET MADE SOMEDAY:
Next is I think female character, known as K-MART, should have a proper name in it, and her nickname is K-Mart.
I also think female character, ANGIE ASHFORD, she should be shown in it more, and have a proper reason for what had happened to her later.
I also think that the two lady characters, of JILL VALENTINE, and TERRIE MORALES, should have more time being shown in the show.
I would also like to suggest, that there should be, four different types, of hidden shelter bases, that later get discovered by the 2 main characters, and their allies teams.
I imagine one of them ANGIE ASHFORD, is placed in one, looked after by trusted allies, and their left there, until the surface is cleared of dangers.
In addition I imagine that, ANGIE ASHFORD, has her case of formulas, in order to treat her illness, and give her the ability to walk.
Now I imagine these four, different types of hidden bases, were assumed by the corporation, that each were ruined, beyond recovery, because they were unable to receive any type of signals from them.
So because of that, it made it possible, for them each to become sanctuaries, for the people who were trying to find, a genuine safe haven.
I also imagine each one, of these four different hidden bases, has a prototype A.I. hologram, who haven’t been fully programmed for operation.
And there for those programs, haven’t been tampered with, by the dark corporation, of the UMBRELLA Company, and so they can be used to do genuine good.
But only once the, prototype A.I. programs, have been properly finished, with their designed structure, and in coded with a protection setup.
For instructing the programs, to protect the good people, from any type of dangerous threats, that includes the UMBRELLA company.
And teach the programs that not all humans are wicked, and not all are evil.
To add even though humans aren’t perfect, they thrive to improve themselves, by learning from their mistakes.
Plus they try to overcome, their negative thoughts, and their negative emotions, through forgiveness, empathy, and patience.
But when their lives are threatened, or the lives of someone they care are threatened, they will fight to live, and will even fight more to try to protect someone.
In addition not all humans approve of fighting to solve a problem, most try to solve certain types of problems through communication.
If a (RESIDENT EVIL) show gets made someday; I think that character Alice, should be introduced in a different way, and she shouldn’t be the main character.
But instead ALICE is the side character, who works with the two main characters, of (Claire Redfield) & her brother (Chris Redfield).

I liked the movies, especially Apocalypse. It was just fun❤. In my opinion just easy to watch don’t take to seriously fun.
I loved the first 2 movies
The only 2 films I liked out of the entire series were the 1st film and apocalypse. In apocalypse, they got Nemesis right. They got Jill right. They got Sherry right. Dr. B... Not so much
The problem is Alice is non cannon and I’m pretty sure Albert Wesker from the game would be able to defeat her with ease since he has super human durability , speed and strength. In the movies they nerfed the hell out of Wesker

A lot of game players actually hated Alice but for me, she is important because the real reason why she existed is for us to see what the T-Virus is supposed to work.
These films had many flaws including plot holes and continuity issues, but the thing that bugged me the most is that they decided to make the infection worldwide instead of in local remote areas like the games.
One of the reasons I liked the first 2 movies is because the first movie could've fitted with the games, not to mention the continuity between movie 1 and 2 was well done imo. The sudden switch to full blown apocalypse in a Mad Max setting on the 3rd film felt odd, and everything just went downhill afterwards.
Though ngl despite the many inconsistencies, these films are one of my guilty pleasures that I like binge watching during rainy days. 😂

If you guys love alice as much as I do I can't recommend the resident evil movie novelizations. They really go into much more detail about the character and fills in lots of holes in the story line
I seriously could go on for hours. we get to learn a lot about different characters' backgrounds and what happens when we don't see them on screen. The first three books especially are just *chefs kiss*

I thought at the end of the second movie, what came back was just a clone of her.
They were both clones. The last movie shows the OG.
Watching this, I realized that I didn't remember the order of the movies, within their own timeline.
Then, I realized that it doesn't matter.
It's like a completely different person, unfamiliar with either the games or the previous movies, wrote each subsequent sequel.
I watched these movies so many times when I was younger but never in order so I never knew what was going on 😅😅
