Markers have been claimed after I was Dm'd on instagram. They're on their way to their new home where I hope they will bring a lot of creative magic!

I think there's a couple of reasons why most people might have been disappointed in this box. Last month's box was amazing (i agree!), BUT, it was also yellow, cyan and magenta! I think to have the same colour palette two months in a row is a bit boring. Secondly, the box before last month's amazing box was a pack of ecoline brush pens! Different colours, but more of essentially the same pens nonetheless. Finally, i don't know if you experienced the same issue i did. I did a lot of wet layers, and that paper didn't really hold up that well. In 100 years i would not have described that paper as being great for ecoline pens. And that Permapaque pen was terrible for me. Mine kept drying out, and i had to keep dipping the tip in water, and yup, maybe it was the paper, but it didn't seem waterproof or water resistant to me. And i get that the artist of the month has to just supply some additional images of her work, but like you say, showing ohuhu markers in a lot of them was a bit odd. They could have cropped them out a bit. Anyway, happy thoughts, happy thoughts! Now that glass dip pen, amazing! And those top quality inks! Wow, just wow! 🤣

Ohhhh you're exactly right!! I didn't even think of that.. two months in a row of the exact colour palette! And the pens again! It all adds up to a pretty underwhelming box. I'm glad I'm not alone in my thoughts about this. Yeah I forgot to mention it, but the paper definitely pilled a bit for me too, and I only did a couple layers 🙃🙃 let's all hope the next one is incredible 🫣😅

I'm in Adelaide Australia and like you was surprised when this box arrived today but my excitement was very short lived... I was looking in the box for missing supplies lol... This box is only 1 of the 2 I recieve now as it does get expensive... hopefully next month's box is better...
Like you I do like these supplies but definitely disappointed... I like receiving things that we can't get here on Oz xxx

I'm so glad I'm not alone in how this box felt! Yeah I totally agree, it's always good value because supplies are so expensive here, and it's such a treat to get new things I've never seen!

You DID make the most of it...awesome drawing! I'd much rather have your drawing than those markers 😆
I also just have zero thoughts about what 'organic robot' could mean???

Hahaha the whole time I was just not vibing it at all 😬😂 thanks for your support ♥️

I mean organic robot could technically just be an animal by a certian way of thinking like just an animal like a human. Or cyborg or biorganic alien tech robot. Or magitech robot that is designed with organic components. Like a fungal robot or a robot with grown flesh or plant etc parts. It could be freaky or horrific or even cute. This seems like a ‘detailed’ prompt if that makes sense. Imaginative realism with research and lots of sketching and designing so not really suitable for these particular supplies. It also works best (in my opinion) as something more design intensive and if they wanted that prompt it could have been done much better. Hmmm.
Here’s what would have been better off the top of my head.
      1) a small sketchbook and 2 final sheets of high quality bristol smooth
      2) pencil, eraser, sharpener and a set of great quality black fineliners with various types (such as the Prismacolours or Sakura micron sets- or loose; brush, 0.05, 0.1, 0.3 at least. (Water and alcohol proof is best)
      3) use that book to give reference, tips, tutorials for designing a custom robot and how to create various inking line techniques. And encourage people to do further research even listing reference sources such as books or CZcamsrs.
Basically you would use the sketchbook to practice and study then to make designs and iterations. Finally you use the smooth bristol for the final art. Three pages so you can try again if you make mistakes and don’t become frightened and unable to use your one and only good page which WILL be a huge problem if they gave only one good smooth bristol sheet!
Also hire artists using these EXACT correct supplies to follow the prompt and show these examples to help the box user. Second try to hire artists with different styles but a high level of skill who also like the prompt and have expertise with these supplies. Hire one who has less expertise but is still a skilled artist so that one feels more ‘achievable’ but so that artist doesn’t feel horrible compared to the other artists. Focus more on function, fun and learning. Focus on making sure all included information is accurate. Pay the artists well and plan properly ahead of time so artists and your suppliers of materials have enough time to all be ready before the box is due to ship. Ensure supplies are compatible.
Ensure ink is truly waterproof for example. Note some ink requires drying time to properly ‘set’ into the paper. Each paper and the temperature and humidity level effects this. Some waterproof inks are waterproof almost instantly others may require as much as 8 hours to ‘set’ into the page and in rare cases won’t fully set on the ‘wrong’ paper but are immediately 100% waterproof on another different paper! I do paper tests. This company absolutely NEEDS to test these supplies way before hand and ensure a ‘waterproof’ in sets proper;y and quickly on the included paper because customers are likely impatient and EXPECT instant set waterproof. OR warn people in that book what time the ink needs to fully ‘set’ and become waterproof on the included paper!
Hope this helps but hey your not the company but maybe it will still help someone. Lol.

@@valasafantastic1055 thanks so much for your input! I loooove getting a sketchbook in the boxes, and I have occasionally, it's such a great idea and so handy to have them on hand, especially as I like to have dedicated smaller sketchbooks for particular projects. Really appreciate your thoughts on all this ☺️

I was disappointed with this box....

      @sallytownsendart  Před měsícem +1

Yeahhh... It just felt so underwhelming! And the mistakes with the different supplies in the magazine, even the banner image on the digital magazine showing last month's supplies! It just felt a bit rushed, like not much care was taken putting it all together
