Ireland pays for Israeli drones

  • Following research from Uplift (www.uplift.ie/...) it's come to light that the Irish government has been paying Israeli state-owned arms companies for drones and technical support.
    Not only has Minister Micheál Martin refused to end these contracts but they've actually doubled in size since last year.
    In addition, the Department of Trade, under Simon Coveney and now Peter Burke, has been overseeing a huge increase in dual-use trade with Israel.
    The Irish government has said it will intervene in South Africa's ICJ case, accusing Israel of genocide but at the same time is increasing its military and dual-use trade with them.
    This is outrageous hypocrisy and those contracts need to be ripped up immediately.
