I have a theory that power of many is more than just a saying or 2 people. It’s them merging into 1 unit, giving their power to another. the night the Jedi arrived the witches confronted the Jedi. They merged their powers into mother Anasaya. She was completely dominating the Jedi because she had the power of many. Then one of the Jedi killed her. Which killed all the rest of the coven.
Also Qimir could be influenced by these witches because acsension ceremony allowed them to become a force ghost. He agreed to seek revenge for them in return for more power. Could explain why he was absolutely yeet 8 Jedi with 1 force push.

    Theories, I’ve got theories!
Qaimir was the result of the mother’s first try at creating a child through the force, but because it resulted in a male child he was kept separate from the coven, hence the furtive glances between the mothers when Osha and Mae lament there being no other children there. After the fire he finds Mae under the bunta tree.
Qaimir is a wannabe Sith. He’s self taught from information/books/artifacts that the coven had. He could have been the reason Jedi went all ACAB and slaughtered the witches.

If true, perhaps he has a brother yet to be revealed in the series. If so, still more theories, there could be. Far darker implications as well, one that could unite them against Osha and Mae in a pair of Force dyads coming together or, more likely, pitting themselves against each other in an ultimate sibling rivalry. After all, conflicts are more interesting stories than a kumbaya worth telling in any saga.

This is nothing new for Star Wars fans, but the Acolyte is the worst I’ve seen it. In both situations, ScreenCrush was an oasis of love for the content and never let the stink of the insanity impact him, before or after their release.
@ScreenCrush doesn’t participate. He’s like a reporter: he stays unbiased and addresses the content in the same playful fashion every time. He doesn’t attack or complain, he just breaks things down and has fun with it. Even when I don’t enjoy an episode of something, there’s no resentment toward him or the channel bc he always sticks to the job and does the best he can with the material for what it is. I can never tell what he likes more than anything else bc he never loses enthusiasm and kindness and playfulness. Great episode, Ryan. Here is my unified theory:
    1. Qimir is not Sith, he is failed youngling that was kicked out of the Jedi temple after he failed to get his LS crystal on Ilum, or not chosen as a a Padiwan, or was too week in the Force and couldn't complete the trials. Hence why he asked Sol why he didn't recognize him. He is hurt, dejected, angry, and wants revenge or justice as he sees it.
    2. Like Count Dooku, he came from a family of means, so was able to research about the dark side and the Sith from lot he learned in Jedi Pre-School, seeking power or to become more powerful.
    3. In his travels, he ran across the coven or Mae after the fire, and has used that knowledge to his advantage.
    4. He will either win against Sol or be at the moment of victory Plagueis and/or Tenebrous will show up, sensing the dark disturbance in the Force like Palpatine did when Maul and Savage Opress took over. Qimir is drawing too much attention and will upend the great Sith Plan.
This will allow what Ki Adi Mundi said in Phantom Menace to be true ... from a certain point of view...

I tend to agree with you, Joe. If we take some of the dates and descriptions from the LEGENDS lore about Sith Masters and apprentices at this time (132 BBY), we see that the big secret Sith Lord working in the shadows is in fact Rugess Nome, also known as DARTH TENEBROUS. According to "The Tenebrous Way" short story by Matthew Stover, Rugess Nome was born some time between 247 BBY and 167 BBY. Now, Manny Jacinto, who portrays Qimir, is at the age in 2024 where his character would have been born around 170 BBY, which fits within the tail end of the time period when Nome/Tenebrous would have been born. Of course, Tenebrous is believed to be a Bith - so perhaps Qimir isn't Tenebrous, but is his apprentice - or maybe he is, but not a Bith - we'll see. Also, the "Darth Plagueis" novel by James Luceno gives us a couple of elusive clues as to the year of Plagueis' birth: either 147 BBY or 130 BBY. So, if Plagueis was around at the time of "The Acolyte," (132 BBY) then he would have been way too young or not yet born. But Tenebrous is definitely alive and well at this time, and won't be murdered by his apprentice Darth Plagueis until 67 BBY - 65 years later, according to LEGENDS.

That quote part. I have a theory about that. What if Qimir was acctualy a young child, whom was left without a home after the jedi (Scenes we havent seen yet), was involved in an inccident, and the witch Covvet found him, and raised him. Later he would use that covvet to do some masterplan we havent seen yet, but the 4 jedis who were there stopped his plan, and since we see Sol spying on the Covvet, he could've also almost senced or seen "The Master", after he found out what the jedi were planning. Therefore Qimir started the fire, killed the witches, but The mother, and blamed it all on the jedi, to stay secret.

I like the idea that multiple dark side force groups are cooperating, including the witch covens, perhaps the Knights of Ren and others, and the Sith are the ones orchestrating and holding this loose alliance together. This still preserves The Rule Of Two, as much as it's been preserved, because The Sith have never had qualms about working with other groups so long as they're serving Sith goals. I doubt Qimir will survive until the end of the series, maybe casually cut down by Darth Plagueis after completing his errand. He's is the big bad I really want to see, even if he's still hiding in the shadows.

  • @johnturin5431
    @johnturin5431 Před 2 dny +6

My theory: Master Sol will end up being the titular “acolyte” by the end. Mae and Osha are red herrings and this is NOT their story. Qimir IS a Sith apprentice who wants to be a master, but no longer answer to any preexisting dogma. He wants to leave his master, not overthrow him. He wants to follow his own path and with no rules and have his own student to train. We will learn what happened at the temple: Sol and the other Jedi discover how the witches manipulated the midichlorians to create life. The witches defended themselves by entering the minds of the Jedi to turn them against each other and ended up breaking their Jedi conditioning to suppress their darkness and lost control of them, which leads to the witches dying in the cross fire. The Jedi are NOT struggling with guilt, because they were not in control of their actions. The witches were killed before properly releasing them from the spell, and now the Jedi ARE struggling to put the genie back in the bottle, so to speak. Sol will end up defeating Qimir, but only by giving in to his anger. He will fall to the dark side and be a worthy replacement apprentice for whoever Qimir’s master is, and be known henceforth as Darth Plagueis. This whole show is an origin story for Plagueis, and we’ve been watching him and rooting for him the whole time.

It's fairly obvious that at least some portion of the conversation you're referring to was a lie. And it was fairly obvious back in 2005. Part 1) Sith legend: obvious lie because all research/knowledge of the Sith is strictly controlled by the Jedi (rather, all the knowledge that they have collected over the thousands of years they've held power is strictly controlled) so therefore how can Palpatine have ANY knowledge of it at all? Anakin should have caught on to this detail and confronted him, but of course Anakin was too busy worrying about how to save Padme. Part 2) learned how to cheat death: obvious lie because Palpatine is baiting the hook for Anakin, and it's a lie because Palpatine tells him after the death of Mace Windu that *oh, oops* only his master actually figured that out, but "together we'll figure it out" (even though if Anakin had used his brain AT ALL he'd have perhaps realized that a guy who manipulated both sides of a galactic civil war in order to gain power and eliminate the Jedi, killing billions across the galaxy in the process, PROBABLY doesn't really care if your wife lives or dies)

All this wordplay REALLY gets me excited about the fight club theory, because - and this has been bothering me since episode 1 - what WAS osha doing that first night when her crewmate pokes at her about not going out? Like, this is our INTRO to osha - every single line and stitch of fabric matters THAT early on. What if the answer to that question brings the audience all back around in a series of flashbacks - JUST LIKE IN THE END OF FIGHT CLUB. 😂 I don’t even care if this is actually correct, just theorizing and toying with ideas is the best part, in itself 😃👏

There are a lot of constraints that need to be kept in order to be consistent.
    1) Ki Adi Mundi knows, from the Jedi's POV (the council or whatever precedes it) that the Sith are extinct. So all this must end silently.
    2) The Stranger knows too much about the Jedi. He have some past with Sol (maybe a former apprentice, and not a witness from the fire back then, at the coven), He know what a Sith is, he is trained in combat but not in the traditional ways of wielding a lightsaber, he knows about the existence of cortosis (or someone gave it to him), he uses the force for healing, and he also know that a Jedi can "enter their mind." Summarizing: He knows A LOT of the Jedi culture.
    3) The Stranger knows in detail what happened to that knight. He order Mae what Jedi must die for what they did. Someone (the mother?) had to tell the Stranger in detail what happened there from their POV... or, that's their POV because he were there also watching this people with "his master".
    4) Jedi Espionage: The mere fact that they were in hiding in the forest was too strange. They knew something about the children or about the use of magic, and they observed from outside. Sol is guilty of something bad, the same as Kel Nanca and Torbin but something they couldn't tolerate. Sol looks more aligned with Indara, in the way they keep on with their lives.
All the triangular thing happening makes me think the Stranger is a former Jedi, there is a Master on the dark side and that master is related to the events of that night, and the Stranger is recruiting some other acolytes (I needs it). At the end of this, it all concludes in nothing more than "experience" or "know-how" for the master in the hidings, now knowing how to repeat this, but with good results. That's why "Sith no longer exist" from Ki Adi POV... the reveal here is who is behind the stranger. They will continue to operate until a new young acolyte called Plagueis enters in scene...

His apprentice also questioned his attachment, he brushes it off with wisdom,

Here's my theory of what happened on the night of the fire. The jedi decide they are going to storm the coven and take the kids. The mother posses at least some of them, if not all of them. One of them snaps out of it, and seeing the others nearly killing each other, that jedi calls on the dark side to wipe out the coven. I imagine something similar to what Elzar Mann did in The Rising Storm were he tossed that floating island into the nihil ship. In the flashback episode, the majority of the coven was laid in a pile, like it was one event that killed most of them. They weren't scattered around as if they were fighting the jedi in groups or one on one, which is what makes me think it was some huge dark side power that wiped them all out at once.
In the high republic, afterwards Elzar confesses his dark side use, and his fellow jedi don't condemn him like they do in the prequels and the clone wars. Instead, they basically have him take a sabbatical and get his head straight (administrative leave?). I think once the truth of this event is found out the jedi change their philosophy and they will no longer tolerate the use of dark side powers, falling in line with how they acted in the prequels and clone wars.
I'm also thinking that somehow Qimir is related to the coven. Whether he was a first born and was kept away from everyone because he was male, or they took him in somehow, I definitely think he was there the night of the fire hiding somewhere nearby.
Finally, I think Qimir is going to be revealed to be the acolyte of the sith apprentice, and he will either die or be thought dead before he becomes an apprentice. This way the line about sith being extinct for a millennia will still be true. I think the addition of Ki-Adi was specifically done for people to recall that line in TPM. It's possible that Qimir is training to be the future apprentice of plagueis, and plagueis plans to use him to help overthrow his master (tenebrous?)

23:50 wait Torbin and Kelnacca both get "mind controlled" from flashbacks.... Maybe it's the Mother Aniseya "breaking" their minds and they couldn't get her out of their minds. So they secluded themselves from everyone.

22:48 before I hear anyone else’s theory, my theory is that the Jedi broke into the castle and discovered how Osha and Mae were created. The Jedi were religiously opposed to it (this means might hint at true Sith-like evil). The Jedi destroyed the means with which the twins were created, the coven discovers the Jedi and confronts the Jedi. The coven uses their powers to make the Kelnacca and Torbin fight (like we see in the trailer) and they also use some of their collective powers against the Jedi. Meanwhile the damage done by destroying the means of creating the twins causes a fire that is causing that major damage to the castle. The Jedi get scared of the coven and use some Dark Side Force powers, like Force Lightning or Force Choke, to wipe out the whole coven.

I think the master's line about "collecting people" is more significant than people realize.

I thinks the theory is a little to wild for Disney who plays it safe but it’s a cool theory nonetheless. Wouldn’t mind it

Something I feel like SC missed when talking about Qimir and Sol. He says, "You don't remember me?" and they assumed it was due to the store owner part. I think it is more referencing something that happened at the Witch Coven.

Only thing about the theory of OSHA projecting Mae, is that when Luke did it he wasn’t moving the physical matter around him that’s why his feet didn’t move the sand to see the red under. Where both twins are touching shid

Stating my theory now before watching, so I can still call it mine. Based on Qimir’s comments, he and his master were at the Jedi vs. coven showdown. Mae’s life was at stake. Qimir’s master was disarmed and killed. It could be the same person, but that death and/or another during possession of the wookie caused the whole coven to die.

I feel like a force diad isn't something that is created, but chosen by the force itself.

The only reason why I still don't feel the Force Dyad theory is because only Osha "feels" this connection and Mae doesn't, so it appears to be an one-way street. But on the other hand, would this indeed be a Fight Club Theory then the connection that Osha has with Mae could indeed be seen the link through which Osha keeps Mae alive.
We will see but I do enjoy the fact that there is finally a show that gives us a good mystery and food for thought.

What if Osha and Mae were one person before the Jedi split them into different beings/identities somehow?

  • @grand_admiral_henrich4416

I also read a comment somewhere (I forgot where), that Qimir having Cortosis acctualy makes him have a connection with Teneborus and Plageius (with the latter, beeing whom I am most convinced Qimir is). Because Both Darths were mining Cortosis on in some comic, which is also where Plageius killed Teneborus.

The Jedi or Osha started the fire and Sol mind wiped Osha but her diade Mae still retains her memories. Qimir said to Sol at the alchemy shop place "Please don't do the memory wipe thing or whatever it is you guys do." That is why they are all stricken with guilt.
