I do this to all my personal bikes, but I’ve had customers complain it was technically “wrong.” Come Georgia summer the tape gets gooey in the heat and fails.
Do a figure 8 to wrap the top correctly or it will loosen over time. Also, cut your finishing angle more severely to get a more succinct end so when you use the finishing tape, you only tape the bar tape and leave none on the bars.
I do normal wrap without issue of wrong way Also as you said figure 8, hope respond back, when doing tape from top to bottom, would you use small strip and normal or just figure 8? I'm wondering what someone thinks is best, I got cotton tape
@@mlee6050 doing a reverse wrap, top down, I don’t use the cheater strip, and I do use a figure 8 that way too. It takes practice but can be done. The important part is to know where your hoods end and to stop just past them to check how well you’re doing no matter whether it is regular or reverse wrapping.
@@Drzhounder okay thanks, I try my best in about a week I'm waiting on stuff for my custom bar ends, may add 80-150g to the bike but I'm replacing the etap shifter battery so surrogate in lever and the coin be in bar ends so never stretch hoods to replace
next video. how to prepair bars for a new wrap
You got the direction of the tape wrong up on top
Yeah, it's mistake on 8 wrap
Explain?
I wrap top to bottom, no worrying with finishing tape.

That’s so cute
So wrong! Unless the video is somehow back to front all that tape will unwrap itself after time
you're right! that's what i see. been wraping bar tapes for almost 35years... sorry for this video.
Easy…
Nice bike
Pretty bare tape.
Ahhh the bars are covered in sticky stuff. Clean that off first...my ocd
yeesh
It is electric tape?
Yes, at the end I use electric tape. Some will disagree with that, I like it and it’s cheap.
@@cyclingskills okay
I almost never comment on these things but this is a pretty bad job.aif anyone needs a tutorial there are a bunch of good ones on CZcams
I really don't like electric tape finishing.. 😢
Wrapping from the top means I don't use it.
No.
Wrong!
It's so bad...
Those caps are way too heavy 😅
