The old version. Mvto, brings back memories from my childhood. All the elders who passed on. Doing the right hand of fellowship.

      Hi,
I've heard this melody since I was little. I'm Agnostic now, but that melody lives rent free in my head to this day. I enjoy the visceral reaction my body gives when I hear it. It reminds me of my young life.
Now, that melody shows up with people who I'm imagining are not Black.
That melody is as powerful as the Black National Anthem for me. I have to be alone to enjoy it. I don't want people to see my tears.
Still! That melody? Where did it come from. It's not as Black as I have come to think!!

Learn the language, these songs are as old as our travels on the trail of tears, many of your ancestors didn’t make it, due to the rash weather , the soldiers that killed babies and the women that were pregnant. Be proud that you are a part of a history of people that were supposed to be wiped out.

It’s apart of most so called black people cukture and DNA. American Indians were reclassified to mulatto, negro and colored in the 40s. My ancestors were full blooded Injuns and got reclassified to negro.
