Hi, I've heard this melody since I was little. I'm Agnostic now, but that melody lives rent free in my head to this day. I enjoy the visceral reaction my body gives when I hear it. It reminds me of my young life. Now, that melody shows up with people who I'm imagining are not Black. That melody is as powerful as the Black National Anthem for me. I have to be alone to enjoy it. I don't want people to see my tears. Still! That melody? Where did it come from. It's not as Black as I have come to think!!
