    I got some of this stuff... There's thread that's nearly impossible to see without bright light or a magnifying glass. You tape one end behind your ear and the other end you squish in a tiny rice grain sized ball of candle wax. Then you casually press the wax onto lightweight objects and practice wrapping the thread around different angles. Then slide your finger over the wax to unstick it and hang the item to the audience.

  • @polyplaner
    @polyplaner Před 13 lety +2

    Good job, when I do this trick I like to have the thread run from my mouth and attached to a glass on the bar, then bi-fold the bill over the thread standing up like a pup tent. Then I use my tongue and hands to have it dance around and leap into the glass.

    He says this at one point: "You just need the levitation-kit..." which I gather would be some string and some wax, which you can probably buy at a hobby-store or at their website if you're lucky

    Regardless of the negative feedback on here. I thought you did a magnificent job on the levitation effect's.
    Not sure if your new to magic. However I've been into magic off and on since age 8. Of course I know what it's like to get all types of feedback. Keep up the great work. I thoroughly enjoyed this tutorial

    3. Put the tape behind your ear or on the top of your eyeglasses , behind the ear works good , the card should almost lay flat while Dangling ,learn to spin the card the way you fling a Frisbee or the opposite way. this is your start , you can play with the lengths of string to do different card or light weight levitations Practice , Practice this will take a week or month to get down good , you can start card floating by spinning the card with your two hands at the corners of the cards and spin

    an impromptu like thread reel would work best in this situation. I would suggest IE-VECTRA. If you choose to do it with the hook up over the head, then I would suggest vectra virtuoso thread....simply the most "invisible" thread mere inches away from them

    that's neat, but can it be explained more in depth including a close-up visual demonstration about how the thread is attached to the ear, what kind of thread is it exactly, and what type of wax is used. There's thousands of waxes on the market. I would guess maybe it's beezwax because it's soft and sticky or the type of wax used to prevent braces from cutting the insides of your cheeks. it's a little bit soft and sticky but wouldn't leave as much residue as beezwax does.

    • @AwesomeProductions61
      @AwesomeProductions61 Před 8 lety +2

      There's a thing called magicians wax mix on the market made for this sort of thing. There's also extremely thin, virtually invisible thread meant for levitation. I recommend amazon, they have everything.

  • @evilseed880
    @evilseed880 Před 12 lety +1

    firstly, notice how he is in a black room wearing a black shirt. I hate invisible string for just that reason. In many rooms you can easily see the string. Also, maybe I watch too many sci-fi movies but my vision of an object floating is that it moves fluidly without wobbling or shaking in mid air. The fact that the bill shakes in mid air is very supicious. I love how Yigal Mesika spins the ring with his tarantula. Makes it less obvious that he is using string.

  • @ImaMoose599
    @ImaMoose599 Před 13 lety +1

    theres wax and magician string on BOTH hands its obvious because it stays in the same spot in between ur hands u gotta move it up and down a bit. so make the string do more than just sit perfectly still between ur hands

The only thread I can think of that I have ever seen is thick enough that I would imagine people would see, and notice. Also, what color thread? I would guess black, but then I am wondering how it wouldn't be noticeable in contrast with your light skin(?). Please answer, thank you.

    I've mostly stopped using this trick, because so many people have debunked it like this. The local paper did get a nifty shot of it four years ago or so... but I admit, I did like the cigarette one. Never thought of that... too bad I usually try not to smoke while performing.
    Trouble in this video is that a few motions actually give it away; you can see the thread in places.
    FYI, for the comment thread: the wax is usually sold with the thread, "magician's wax"; but I've used Scotch tape, slits in things, tacks, medical tape, glue, or whatever comes to hand, depending on the trick. Tiny bits of that double-sided poster hanger stuff work too, if it's CONCEALED. I get my wax etc. from Dreamland Magic.
    But I'm still a little bummed by the casual revelation of this trick, old or not.
