Anglesey 2021 Vlog 13 - Bryn Aber, Cemaes Bay, Llyn Alaw Reservoir

  • Following our argument with a rock the previous day we realise the importance of taking time to relax when travelling. Going slow lets you see more, recharging your own batteries and not just the van’s.
    We start the day admiring the bird life at Bryn Aber before heading to Cemaes Bay to see one of the Time and Tide Bell installations and enjoy a tasty beef pasty.
    The afternoon was spent relaxing by Llyn Alaw Reservoir followed by the search for a good internet signal that ended up at Parys Mountain.

    Nice video again here guys.
    Ken; You put up absolutely no resistance with that cream tea that Carol forced you to eat! 😉😂😂
    Haven’t been to Cemaes for years although always pronounced it with a hard ‘c’
    As an expoliceman (?) don’t the ‘no overnight’ signs have to be official ones to be enforced or is that just an old wives tale?
    Anyways, all the best from us and take care from The SilvertopMotorhomers

    • @LifeistooshortCK
      @LifeistooshortCK  Před 3 lety +1

      In my opinion (not legal advice) any home made sign is worthless legally in respect of enforcement but it is of course an indication that you may get grief from somebody local, probably the person who was driven to put them there. That is why we left very early. Avoid anywhere that uses cameras for enforcement as they will click away 24/7. Official signs should be considered carefully as then it all comes down to is there anybody actually likely to be enforcing them. Obviously in some places like National Parks wardens may well be prepared to give you a knock at 2am during the summer months just to deter campers rather than prosecute them.

    Hi Ken/Carol the company where I work have a 2015 NV200 electric van, which I drive occasionally, but I can't imagine, fitting your camper layout into it. Is your nv200 a long wheel base?? Love watching your videos and always look forward to the next one

      Its the same size as the electric. With a swivel seat in the front there is plenty of room for us and I know that can be hard to believe. Its one of its strengths as people don’t believe anyone could be sleeping in it. 👍

    • @LifeistooshortCK
      @LifeistooshortCK  Před 3 lety +1

      It would certainly allow us to carry more toys - fire pit, paddle board etc but it would reduce our ability to get under some of the really low barriers now being fitted. Now a tow bar on the back with a box might be the way to get more room 👍. Not sure how that might affect the grip of the front wheel drive though. 👍

    I'm not going to comment on your grebeous lack of ornithological knowledge and seeing the other comments, I thought a Merganser was a type of sausage. Sorry not sorry 🙄🤣. Would have loved to have seen inside that church. When I saw it I thought of the huts I once saw other shore in Northumberland I think. They were upturned disused large fishing sciffs. I see somebody has commented that it's supposed to represent a boat. Now I honestly have no designs on Carol at all but allow me to say that when you have shown footage of her waking up/freshly risen she needs no embellishment. You are obviously so right together. One of the reasons I follow your channel has nothing to do with your "adventures" but that your voices and mode of speech are reminders of my younger years in Sussex and Surrey. I love the West Country accents but as the years have gone by I have often missed the little things we say that don't translate to my home here in the West. Like we say sin it and not seen it. The things that I didn't notice until I had moved away but now are dear to my heart. Keep 'em coming and keep your batteries topped up. 👍

    My daughter is called Alaw. Is that how every english person is going to read/ think her name is? Think AL in the same way as you would say ALex. And AW in the same way as what you would say if you got hurt. Welsh is simpler than you think. And Llyn is not Lyn. Cemaes does not have an (s) sounding C, nothing in Welsh does , C is like "Car' or "cat" every time.
