excellent , great to PW again since the 1SWA days
I can't believe he remembered where he left it after all those years! pity he didn't video that recovery.
Great interview thank you. This is a question for all you sf guys who were operating in the area at that time. One day we came across a 60mm ammo box almost full of plastic explosives. They were about the size of pork sausages. They would burn like gunpowder and one would be enough to get a dixy of water boiling. It took about a minute to burn. Well now you know what happened to all your plastic explosives, we used it to boil our water.
Brilliant👏. Would love more content like this with equipment etc ! Well done guys💪
This is great insight into the secret community of the greatest fighting force Africa has produced👍🏻
Thanks Peter, very interesting, it adds to the legacy story of what you guys did.
Very fascinating demo. Thank you PW. Brilliant for you to have recovered the pack after 30 years!
I remember Peter very well. He was one of the friendliest and relaxed members of the recce wing I had the pleasure of meeting. I was a signaler at Omauni from Aug 83 to March 84 and then at Buffalo until Dec 84. I remember spending many a night shift in the signal room making battery packs for the recce wing. Roy Douglas
Excellent video. Thank you Koos. Its great to see Peter!
Just do it.
Peter is a very humble tough man
Well done guys. As usual so professionally done. I had absolutely no difficulty with the sound. Can’t understand how you could have a complaint. Keep it up!
Awesome video thank you Peter .
Interesting video and unpacking. The intricate breakdown and usage of every item was great. Each with there own back stories. One look at the map and Peter remembered an Angola road between 2 places in flash like it was yesterday.
Please make more videos like this, I absolutely love it. Especially for military historians and reenactment. Videos about kit, loadout, equipment, tactics, advice..etc. top content!
Yes, we are trying to do that with Allos and Pumas (helicopters) in a future episode. You are welcome to tell us about your channel too, Koos
@@LegacyConversations Great to hear that. information about 32 Bn loadout/operational gear, 44 pathfinders…etc would be awesome. Anyway, thank you, Koos I appreciate your interest in knowing about my channel. My channel initially was just to play with my video editing skills. However, overtime it developed into a genre of introducing people to obscure conflicts or highlighting other aspects of known conflicts with short edited videos that follow a visual narrative. I have always had a profound interest in Cold War African wars & politics which in part my channel has attempted to give exposure. - Zermatt.
Well said Koos, very well said, Salute Pappa Whiskey, good one.
No problem with the sound as discussed it is very clear
Well done Koos
Amazing that this chap found his pack after 30 years, I loved my national service and I love these accounts
Great presentation Peter. So many memories came flooding back. But where was the biltong, Tabasco sauce, and a nip of whiskey or Red Heart rum? All for medicinal purposes of course.
Interesting chat. Many thanks PW and Koos! 👍👍
Interesting. Good info and love the presentation.
Brilliant and such an informative video Koos and PW. For the 1st time since 1979, I have seen the toggeltou being used lol.
Another really interesting interview. Thanx Peter and Koos
Very nicely done. Thank you very much. We need to learn. Soon there might come a time where these skills might come in handy again.
Godspeed.
I've often wondered what radios were used. Solar panels would have been pretty Gucci kit back in those days. Interesting use of Dragonuv stock, thank you.
No complaints from any old soldiers and such Koos.
No complaints about the sound - much better than my hearing.
Flipin awesome presentation...well done manne!!!
Salute / Saluut.
Thank you guys. Very informative and helpful. My go bag is very different now. We need a car just fir the radio and guns never mind the other stuff.
Brilliant! so caught up in the presentation I did not hear anything except PW's voice 🙂
Really really interesting, a valuable testimony
Very interesting, thanks Peter. No problem with the sound Koos 😊
Excellent video.. Thank to you and . - -. . - -
Wow I actually forgot how bug those radios were I think that is a TR28 and remember this equipment is about 38 years old but man very advanced for the time and I'm sure the replacement bag today will weigh a fraction and the radio will be small and satellite
Do the ads Koos, do not even think about it.
Hello SAW ,Thanks Koos ,
Brilliant videos you making. Keep it up. ❤
well done koos !!!
Baie interessant! Hoeveel sou so sak nou weeg?
How well did the Reactivan work?
PW and others used to come back to base modesty thin.
